1. Ah, that's another issue entirely. Do the lips start to move, then stay open or closed while the rest of the line is delivered? As if frozen?
2. For a lip synch file 1-10k is a pretty normal size!
3. Welcome to the VAP and to the Alliance, Mate! No worries, I WILL be adding a lip synch tutorial as soon as time allows!
4. Quote I would but I'm already a paid member of Prime. It's worth it if you order from Amazon.com with any frequency!
5. You can actually make a fairly complicated quest without any scripts whatsoever. Just using dialogue and a few result scripts. Result scripts are nothing to be shy of, you can look at existing quests to get a feel for what they do. They're just one line scripts tacked onto dialogue or queststages to set certain actions. Best advice I can give you is plan a small side quest first, like a meet somebody, get commissioned for a task, complete the task, get reward, type scenario. Just something really small. Once you get a hang of the process you can expand the size and difficulty of your questbuilding. This tutorial http://cs.elderscrol.../Quest_Tutorial And this dialogue tutorial http://cs.elderscrol...alogue_Tutorial Should give you a good start! Post a new thread if you have questbuilding related issues and we can help!
6. That's too bad, I can't do it myself for the same reason, I tried it once before the Alliance! We're going to be upgrading the forums to an IP board like Bethsoft uses. It has more features than our current board; especially improved security and a warn/ban system that will be needed later: http://www.invisionp...oard/index.html We're also bringing a new IP Downloads module so people can start uploading/downloading user mods: http://www.invisionp...oads/index.html And an IP Gallery where each member can upload his/her images for others to view! http://www.invisionp...lery/index.html Every code type for a website has limitation whether you use HTML or php. This site has some things that are really good, but somethings that just won't work for an ES Fansite (for example our default downloads module does not allow images or user comments). Those three upgrades are the present goal for the site. Of course if there is something else you would like to see added we are always open to input from our allies! Good questions! DarkRider
7. Great work indeed, I should commission you to do a worldspace for my project!
8. Whoo! Another Member has Signed up for Amazon Prime! We Salute You! Only 21 more signups needed to bring us mod downloads and a new image gallery! If you haven't taken advantage of this program there is nothing to lose! Be sure to signup for your free trial of Amazon Prime today! With your free trial you get UNLIMITED FREE 2-Day shipping for an entire month! And remember, all signups prior to October 31, earns a $12.00 by proxy donation for the Alliance! Just a note, the Amazon Prime link is on the lower left hand side of the homepage in the Amazon.com block. IF you are using Firefox, the box will be empty. You'll have to switch over to IE to view the link; because the image is hosted by Amazon itself, I can't make it visable for Firefox users. Thanks to those of you who have signed up, you know who you are! Your support will make the Alliance an even greater addition to the ES Community! DarkRider
9. Those waterfalls look awesome! And you did a really good job sculpting the rivers out!
10. Evander Mate, this mod is great! Your weapons are very creative, I especially like the head on a stick!
11. Hmm, CTD without the mod checked? That is strange; I recommed reinstalling the CS.
12. You should try removing the light objects and see if that resolves your issue. Load the CS, click File>Data highlight your mod and click details. Find the lights in the list and click delete to toggle ignore. Then load your mod as the Active file as usual. Save to make the delete permanent. This is called cleaning your mod! You should know right away if that will fix the issue or not, let me know if you have any luck!
13. Quote Quote Not unheard of, what were the last changes you made in the CS? I just added a few static items to Aleswell. Including lighting for the lamps. Hmm, lighting objects have caused CTD issues. Do you know what lights you used?
14. Not unheard of, what were the last changes you made in the CS?
15. Quote How do you make lights go out during the day, but turn on at night? There's a script called Streetlight Script, add it to your light object. But make sure you create a new form version of the light first or the script will apply to all similar lights!
16. Quote How does path gridding work? If a red node is underneath something is it needed? Pathgrids must be above the level of the floor, or your NPCs will follow the path and fall through the floor. Quote Is the Manabloom flower from SI? No, the Manablooms are Vanilla flowers. If you're not sure right click the object and choose Use Info to see where the objects appears in game. If a SI location appears in the list, it is from SI. Quote I have a door aligned perfectly in the CS, but ingame it's somewhere else. (above.) How can I fix this? Have you linked this door? Sometimes if you don't link the door it will float. It's a glitch. Just delete the door, save, add a new door, link it to it's interior/exterior, and save again.
17. I know you found this one, but for future reference, if you have trouble finding objects you can also use the Find Text feature. Click Edit>Find Text, when the box opens click on the Objects tab. Then tyoe in a key word that will help you find what you're looking; in this case you could have typed "wall". The CS will then load up a list of all objects containing that key word. It can narrow your hunt considerably!
18. Quote I will be coming back to this, but will be working from scratch. Glad to hear it! And I'm looking forward to seeing some screenshots of your renewed efforts!
19. I suspect this warning means that there is a special idle pack that is supposed to be attached to a particular creature, but it can't find the creature it belongs to. Did you delete any creatures from the existing Aleswell, like sheep? If you haven't deleted any creatures than it might be a dev error, in which case hit Yes to All and move on. The game is full of Dev errors, not much to worry about! Don't worry about the study hall either; It can handle your question load!!
20. Don't give up Mate, it happens to every modder at some point. Once early on in Sancre Tor, I spent couple hours carefully hand placing dozens of floor and ceiling tiles in the parts of Sancre Tor's interior where there is no floor or ceiling. Then I tapped the F key to drop a piece, but it was too far up and the CS CTD. I just stared at the screen, stunned, at first couldn't even believe it was happening. Then I realized I hadn't saved and would have to start that whole project over again. And there have been at least a half dozen other examples, too painful to rehash!!! I know exactly how you feel and you have my sympathies. But, it's a risk we assume when using the CS; it is a crashy beast by nature. The best advice is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start again. Save often, and always before making any major changes you haven't tried before. If your PC can handle it the CS also has an auto-save feature that can save every few minutes in case you are forgetful! You can also search the wiki for examples of things that cause CTD in the CS so you know what moves to avoid (like hitting the F key to drop an object from too high!) I don't think I'll lock this thread just yet, there may still be work for you to do in Aleswell!
21. Happens to the best of us! Even with all my experience there are still some things that make me feel like a noob!
22. When you load the CS to edit your .esp, you click File>Data and select the Oblivion, esm and YourMod.esp. With your mod .esp highlighted click Set As Active File. It has to be activated in order to overwrite. If you activate the .esp first then it won't ask you to rename or overwrite, it will just overwrite it by default!

Quote Thanks! You say I should put my archive together in the meantime, do you mean just post my specs and stuff without having any voice samples yet? I do have a somewhat crappy microphone at the moment, so should I just record some rough samples for right now and then re-record my audition later when I get my better microphone? Like Angel said, Yes. You can put up your specs and add some rough samples. My samples are rough right now as well, so I just included a notation that I would be updating with better samples; you might make a similar statement in yours!
