  1. I believe the problem is that you are already considered to be in combat with that aggression/disposition arrangement. You would have to add the NPC's to a friendly faction temporarily and then remove them again when you want them to fight. Or lower the aggression of the NPC's/creatures so their disposition is greater than their aggression. I find adding the player to a friendly faction works better.
  2. Updated OP with new links after server move. Also updated compatibility list. We're currently working on getting the voice acting done and the rest of the side quests done.
  3. SKSE has fixed the resistances bug. They found the mistake in the code that caused it and re-connected the function that was no longer being called. Somebody did report what the fix was, so Bethesda should know about it now and come out with a new patch. The dragons flying backwards thing is hit and miss apparently. It sounds like it depends on when they are due to spawn in your game. I don't know if the issue with them not landing resolves itself or not. I'm not running the 1.2 patch, so I'm just passing along some info I've gotten from the threads on Beth, mainly the SKSE thread which I've been following closely.
  4. Short is for integer values from -32768 to 32767. Float is for decimal values. If you can use a short for something, you should. Floats are estimates and you will find the values off very slightly, so when you are evaluating the value of a float, you should avoid exact matches (==) if you can. You do need to be careful, because many functions or game settings are actually floats even though they look like shorts. Gamehour is a prime example of this. Here's the wiki page on variables - they list the different types at the bottom.
  5. The new version of Better Cities has been released, which includes a patch for DBC. Thanks Vorians!
  6. Will be re-uploaded to Nexus once fixes are done.
  7. Mods: Please close this thread. Release thread coming soon!!
  8. Update on our current progress: Beta testing is still underway. We are being very thorough and won't release until everything is working to our satisfaction. So we will not be able to release before Skyrim, obviously, but we do think we'll be able to release sometime on the weekend.
  9. Main quest line is done. Final testing will start later today. Updated OP with latest progress.
  10. I don't know what link you guys had for TES4Files before, but Mental Elf has the latest version of TES4Files here. He never uploaded it to Nexus. I've tested that link several times and never had a problem.
  11. Another update: we've gotten four more quests done, so 9 out of 11 in the main quest are done. Only two more to go and then the main quest will be done and we can release. We're still trying to get Awakening out before Skyrim, but it will be tight. I updated the OP with out latest progress.
  12. Apparently the spell gets trapped inside the statue or model collision sometimes. If you look at the Night Mother statue in Bravil, you'll see that there's actually an xmarker over her head that delivers the spell. If you try it without, the spell won't work. Sometimes you'll get the flash that the spell fired, but there's no effect on the PC. I tried messing around with the mesh with no luck. I finally had to concede defeat and use an xmarker like Beth did *sigh*
  13. Really? Wow, that's good to know. *sigh* No I'm afraid it was a saved game issue. Apparently DarkRider and I have something in common: we both got the "you have to test the mod as if you never had it installed" lecture from Arthmoor. I hate it when the lizard is right. *frown* Once I did a clean save, it was fine. I'm sure both of our responses back to Arthmoor were the same too: No! That's too much work.
  14. That's what I was starting to wonder. That's why I suggested you turn it around to see what effect that spell casts (as a test) because the code looked fine. Now if only I could figure out why my DayCount variable won't persist on file save... We've got: set DBCMQ07UnholyAlliance.DayCount to GameDaysPassed + 3 in the stage result script for one of the stages. DBCMQ07UnholyAlliance is the name of the quest. At first DayCount was declared as a short and I thought that that was the problem, but it still loses it's value after game reload when I switched it to a float. It gets set properly at first. But if you save the game, exit and then reload the save, DayCount will be zero. I tried moving this to the quest script, but that doesn't help. Any ideas?
  15. Huh, that's weird. Is it possible that the creature's fire resistance negates the damage? I wouldn't think fire resistance would come into play here though... Maybe you should try turning it around and see what gets returned for the effect if you hit something with a fire spell. As a debugging exercise - make sure the spell you're using does indeed have a magic effect code of FIDG.
  16. I'm wondering if the fire damage doesn't last long enough. Looking up HasMagicEffect in the wiki says that it returns 1 as long as the object has that effect. Perhaps OnMagicEffectHit would work better.
  17. BAIN has a bit of a learning curve (well actually it's Wrye Bash more than BAIN), but once you've made the switch, you won't look back.
  18. We have both Nvidia and Radeon. We made the jump to Radeon for my husband's PC and got the 5970. That's the beast that's dual GPU on one card. He was finally able to play Crysis at ultra mode when he OC'd the card, but our cooling isn't good enough to keep it running at that level. Ironically the problem he's had is getting a Catalyst driver that behaves. It's getting better, but he's definitely had some issues. So as suggested, have a look at the specs and do some comparisons. Price for performance and availability might turn out to be more important points than whether it's a Radeon or Nvidia. I'm not sure there's one clear cut winner anymore.
  19. While it does seem nonsensical to mix water and electronics, don't forget that mainframes have been using water cooling since the 1960's. Some of them still do. Those principles are what led to water cooling for PC's in the first place. However those systems are built for water cooling whereas with your PC, you are doing it yourself. That's why I recommend that if you are exploring this option, price it out with components that are specifically made for WC. I seem to recall that you could buy video cards outfitted for water cooling already - you just had to hook up the hoses. As I said, my ASUS motherboard has the nipples installed already and is ready to go. You will probably have to pay more for these kinds of components, but it would make implementing a WC system much easier. And another option which I believe I mentioned already was to go with Liquid Cooled components. These are sealed systems. You can get CPU coolers, as Meo mentions above and I've seen video cards like that too. You'd still need fans to cool the memory and bridges on your motherboard though.
  20. I will probably be taking the plunge into water cooling soon too. I have two cats which are the worst shedders of any cats I've ever owned and we live in a big city - so dust is a major problem. The problem with filters on the case is they get clogged really quickly in such an environment, and I really don't feel like dismantling my case every few weeks. Yes, every few days. I'm not kidding. But if you don't have cats, then your can probably get away with having to clean the filters every few months. The manufacturer will recommend you do it monthly. If you are going for the newest components, you might find that they are really for water cooling already. I've seen video cards that have H2O versions. And my motherboard is actually rigged for WC even though it's a few years old. There are also some sealed systems available now. I haven't looked into them personally, but there are small liquid cooled CPU coolers now that are completely self contained. They aren't water cooled - they use something else. Mind you, that's only the CPU, but that might provide another alternative. As it turns out, I opted for nice looks and convenience over superior air cooling. As echo says, there are cases that provide excellent air cooling and that is definitely an option. If you go with Lian Li, they have filters on all the openings. And Lian Li are the best cases out there, imo. But you still have to crack open the case to clean it out. Unfortunately I haven't used WC personally, so I can't give concrete advice there.
  21. Time for an update. I've reworked the OP with more details, including a detailed progress report and new links. Our gallery is gradually being restored and we now have links to the magnificent soundtrack that Xae created for us. We are halfway through coding up the main quest and are still aiming to get this released before Skyrim. Everybody is going to be so busy playing all the Oblivion mods that get released just before Skyrim that they won't have time to play Skyrim
  22. Hmmm, those are great ideas! Thank you - I will look into that.
  23. Heh. I'd say books don't like you. Did you try with just text only to see if you can get that working? Perhaps you should try with a smaller image.
