the house seems to rotate but the thing added dont move with it. Should i "de-select everything before trying the rotate?

I am just in the middle of lesson 1. I have my fireplace, flame, chair, bed and 1 tapestry placed. When i rotate the render view the house moves on the Z axis but the things i have added seem to be grouped and they dont rotate with the house. What did I miss? TY Stan Kirby
