  1. Why do I get logged out every day? And why do I get logged out when I reply to this topic? And why do I get logged out when I click the "home" button on the links bar at the top of the forum?
  2. I think the problem is, Button is going to equal zero until one gets pressed? Been a while since I did any morrowind scripting. Try setting it to -1 before doing the getbuttonpressed call.
  3. Happy B'day. :)

      Thanks HeyYou.

  4. Should work fine. Holy smokes. That just stomps my machine. Of course, mine is pushing 8 years old too......
  5. Yup, everything is in bsa files for Oblivion. The folders don't show up till you install mods that put them there.
  6. The ini just sets various variables, and the archery tweaks simply change those values. I would think you would be able to set those values via script as well. Run once at game start, and then stop.
  7. Geez, EIGHT years old? Has it really been that long?

    Happy Birthday! :D

  8. If you have a valid win 7 license key, you can use it to activate a similar version of win 10. Fresh install is best, as the upgrade from 7 to 10 does not always go as planned. You can create installation media pretty easy. (we use 8 gb USB 3.0 flash drives.) Boot from the flash drive, feed it your win 7 license key when it asks, and it will install the correct version of win 10. Ok, I thought win 10 home was limited to 32 gb Ram. Not the case. Up to 128 gb...... I don't see anyone needing more than that any time soon. (unless you want to have your games installed to a RamDrive. That could be fun. Always wanted to try that.) That said, I have used win 7 drivers for some items under win 10. Not sure how well that would work for newer hardware though.
  9. Go with Pro. It supports more ram, and also has other features that may prove useful. You won't find drivers for your MB for win 7.
  10. Happy B'day Lady. :)

  11. Woah..... Ran the test on my machine. AMD Phenom X4 965 Black @ 3.4ghz 8gb Ram Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb video Crucial MX500 SSD 250gb. My rig scored 481.12 on that test.
  12. Wrye bash should work find in win 10.
  13. Yes, Norton works.... but, it tends to be a resource hog, which is my major malfunction with it. Especially some of the higher end versions.... with twelve separate processes that start with windows. MSE is a very light footprint, ONE process, same for defender. And neither one tries to do stuff that compromises what you actually WANT to do. I HATE the a/v's that demand to scan EVERY file the O/S tries to access..... Talk about a performance killer..... I don't run any A/V on my personal machine either. Haven't for years. I simply don't need one. I don't go to sites that are famous for handing out malware, and I run an adblocker, as ads are the favorite medium for malware transport at this point. If a site won't let me visit unless I turn it off, I don't visit. Most of the machines at work are win 10. We have a couple machines running 7, one machine with XP....... (only on when needed) we even still have a win 98 machine.... but, I don't think we have even turned that one in for a couple years. And, of course, the linux server...... (for NAS duties, DHCP, and PXE boot.)
  14. So far as I know, the 'defender' installed on 7 is not the same as that on win 10. Also, I don't think it actually works on 7. We installed MSE by habit. It doesn't exhibit as many of the bad behaviors that most of the third party a/vs do....... Norton, is the worst, closely followed by Mcafee.....
  15. Correct. So far as I know, it won't even install. But, that makes sense, as you don't need it.
  16. Security? Windows 10 comes with windows defender. It ain't the best, but, its really all you need. Windows 10 frequently has issues with third party anti-virus software... Tends to interfere with updates, and various bad things happen.
  17. On my gaming PC, I am still running windows 7. Support for 7 runs out pretty soon though, end of the month, I think. So, I might consider 'upgrading' at some point. But, as I have had automatic updates turned off since the whole 'get windows 10' (or ELSE) fiasco, don't think I am going to be in too much of a hurry for it. So long as the various browser folks still support 7, think I will stick with it. Side Note: How does Microsoft define an "Upgrade"? Replacing software that doesn't work, with software that doesn't work, in a different way.......
  18. If you are running an intel system that is 7th gen or newer, there are no drivers for win 7, you are stuck with 10. Much as I dislike win 10.... it actually works fairly well. Do a search on "reclaim windows 10", and you will find a power shell script you can run that will turn off most of the telemetry. (improves performance....) It turns off most of the 'phonehomeware' that MS put in windows 10. (like targeted advertising, etc.)
  19. MSI makes some good stuff. Customer service is supposed to be good as well. Microsoft pulled the latest update due to folks data being purged. Given this is a new machine, I would fire it up, get it going, have win 10 do all its current updates, and call it a day. After all, it can't delete what ain't there yet.
  20. Same tricks as any other version of windows. Don't install games to the program files folders, and everything is good. Also, do a search on 'reclaim windows 10'. It's a powershell script you run to turn off most of the telemetry that windows 10 comes with. External drive will work just fine.
