  1. I got myself an old computer from my friend's aunt. It's a 166 MHz, 64mb RAM (Quite impressive I must say, to have that much ram) With Windows 98. My old games work like a charm and some of them require me to use Turboto slow down the games. I never played a spellcaster in Arena. Passwall was the spell you could use to destroy a block of wall in a dungeon, isn't? It must be very fun to use.
  2. My internet connection on my gaming computer is broken for now, but I'll give contact info anyways. Steam : Cliffworms Simple. The only game I used to play online when I had an internet connection was Left 4 Dead. Besides that, I don't paly other online games.
  3. I ordered it on Ebay in 2005. The guy who was selling it lived two hours by car from my location and I was the sole bidder since the box and the manual were in french (But the game isn't.) I'm french so I didn't mind. I paid 1$ + shipping. I love it and still play it from time to time. I'm still amazed about the graphics for a 1994 game. There's some basic water reflection in some places, the lighting is good and the landscape is too. I recently discovered that there are rowboats in the wilderness that you can use to get past some rivers. I was very surprised when I saw that! My first Elder Scrolls game was Daggerfall in 1996.
  4. Thank you Euther! Smokey Chimneys took me 2 hours to do, actually. It was a long and tiresome 2 hours though.... checking every single house with a chimney to see if there's a lit fireplace and if so, make sure I place the smoke on the right chimney if the house has two chimneys.. I'm glad you like it! My favourite Dungeon Keeper creature is the Demon Spawn from DK 1 and the Skeleton in DK 2. The Demon Spawn was a powerful lizard-like creature who was always in the training room and when it would reach level 10, it would transform in a Dragon. The Skeleton in DK 2 is pretty much one of the most powerful creature of the game. You can have an infinite number of them if your prison is large enough, they never sleep, eat or get paid plus they never run away in battle. They are excellent attackers to put in front of your more important creatures.
  5. Quote I wish people would make more original games like that instead of RTS #54,386and World War Two Shooter #919,485 In a dreamworld, Peter Molyneux would buy the Dungeon Keeper license and design the third title, Bullfrog style. By the way, good to see you here too, Tyana Rie! Quote And another victim, er, modder we can welcome here!Welcome Cliffworms, glad to have ya. cheers Thanks! Hehe I didn't know you were here, HeyYou ! Good to see an ex-Elder Scrolls forum moderator.
  6. That looks great! This is going in my mod list for sure! This is very helpful for the criminal minds in all of us. (Even if you are a good character, you will be tempted to break the law and disguise yourself as a member of the Legion. You know it. Thank you for sharing!
  7. That would be an excellent idea for those with a rig powerful enough to support this application. It would allow the player do discuss about the game with another player while playing, for example. For me, I think it would make my computer explode. I can barely run Oblivion with the Construction Set opened (Or actually, Oblivion itself). Oblivion doesn't really support Alt-Tabbing, doesn't it? So shouldn't you have problems doing that? (Or maybe that's only on my computer.)
  8. The only DLC house I bought was Frostcrag Spire., wich was neat. Then I decided that I'd prefer to get those designed by the modding community, to encourage the modders.
  9. I use many soundtracks in my game. Lord of the Rings, 13th Warrior, some Final Fantasy songs, Pirates of the Carribean (mostly for battles), the Morrowind soundtrack, Daggerfall's soundtrack, Dungeon Keeper (for dungeons), Kingdom of Heaven, Warcraft, World of Warcraft (I never played that game, but I love the soundtrack!), and many more. I'm a game/movie soundtrack freak, you see?
  10. Welcome bg2408! I saw that you posted those two guides, I'll check them out! Thank you and have fun!
  11. The Dunmer are indeed an interesting race with a deep culture. They never seem to be in peace with the world, not even with themselves. The Great Houses are constantly at war and even King Helseth declared war on what is left of House Indoril. The Dunmer's past and present is a bloody one indeed. The race I'm the most interested in are the Argonians simply because not much is known about them and their lands. Argonia is filled with diseases that kill any non-native, mysterious unrecorded creatures in the Empire's books and there are rumors that Argonians possess cities underwater or at least.. underswamp. And now, after and during the Oblivion events, many Argonians have been "called back" to Black Marsh, no one knows why. They dissapear in their swamps and are never seen again. Then there's an Imperial Legion regiment who abandonned Fort Swampmoth. Finally, many of the Empire's settlers have been lost in this hostile territory. Something's coming in Black Marsh, I feel it. Or another disaster is coming on Tamriel and the Argonians are hiding in safety underwater.
  12. Name: Marelik Age: 43 Race: Khajiit, Ohmes-Raht breed Sign: Unknown Alias: None Profession: Acrobat and thief Mount: None Weapons: Mithril shortsword, steel bow, though Marelik is an excellent martial artist. -- Appearance: Short, black hair, tatooed face as it is the style of the Ohmes-Raht. Approximately 5"8 and of an athletic, muscular build. He wears a traditional, pure black Khajiiti suit under his leather armor. He wears a brown cloak and rarely uses its hood. -- Background: Marelik was born in the middle of the Elsweyr desert, in a tribe. His father, Do Zhirr, was a hunter and his mother, Dar Tsani had to take care the family at home, though before she met Do Zhirr, she was an experienced thief. At a young age, Marelik learned from his father the ways of hunting with a bow and the art of moving unseen and unheard. Each time his father would leave the tribe with the other hunters to get food, his mother taught him the secret of lockpicking; something that his father never approved. When his parents fell in love, Do Zhirr ordered Dar Tsani to put en end to her life as a Thief and become her wife to raise the family. Marelik was more agile than any boys his age. He was always seen climbing trees, organizing races with his friends or jumping from one rock to another. One day, a traveling circus troupe composed only of Khajiitis stopped in the village to gather food and rest for a few days. Later, when everyone was asleep, Marelik decided he had enough of living in a small village in the middle of nowhere and hid inside a box in the circus troupe's caravan; sneaking by the sleeping artists. He knew his parents would never approve his decision, but the mere thought of wandering inside a city and making his own fortune drove him to take this decision. When the troupe left, he got out of the box in which he was hidden and totally surprised the acrobats and other artists present. At first they were angry but when Marelik showed them his acrobatic moves they decided to take him with them. This is how his adventure started, he was 15 at that time. As soon as he arrived in Dune, he left the troupe without notice. Again, he'd leave a life he liked to experience another. Ah, the joy of the city! Tall buildings, countless people to entertain, rich pockets to be picked, towers to climb. Marelik never missed an opportunity to put his skills to good (and not so good) uses. But his actions eventually earned him a bad reputation and he flew the city before more troubles would subside. He left for Hammerfell, province of the Redguard, on foot. The travels were not easy, but his skills as a marksman, a hunter and a thief served him well. Now, he left Hammerfell after having stayed there for around 2 years. Why? We don't know. But he's on the move again and this time, it's not because he's being chased off by a mad baron. And why does a lowly-looking thief like him has a rare mithril shortsword? -- Personality: Marelik, like any thief, is powered by money. He will never go as far as killing people for gold, but he will gladly use "stab someone in the back" if more money is involved. He is unreliable. -- Hobbies & Habits: Climbing, climbing and more climbing. In a city, he will climb houses and jump from one rooftop to another. Running and swimming are also a favourite habbit of his. He also likes to sneak around at night, looking at what people do. He also loves to hang around market places, picking pockets here and there and outrunning the guards. And finally, he can be seen entertaining patrons by dancing a traditional Khajiit dance or simply showing his moves, which earn him a small income that suffice to pay his room. -- Special Powers/Weaknesses: No special power for Marelik, except that he sees clearly at night like every other Khajiit. His weakness is being powered by money, which makes him unreliable.
  13. Quote Quote Hehe but your pictures were funny, I must say! Judging by your pictures and your posts, you look like someone who really, really enjoys life and whose motto is "Don't worry, be happy!". (Your smileys in your posts help me think that too. ) Man, are you hiding under my desk or what? I hum that bloody song all the time! LOL It's THE song for the happy man/woman! This and "I'm walking on sunshine!" Quote Lol, I'm an artist and I look nothing like you! D: It's probably my naturally wavy-almost-curly short hair. Well maybe not always physically, but in the mind or the attiude, we look alike I'm sure. By the way, you look like a real drum machine!
  14. Cliff you look like every Fine Arts major I went to school with! Nice! We, artists, all look alike ; whatever part of the world we come from. This, I'm sure.
  15. Here's me! I hope you guys don't mind me reviving this 5 months old topic. <!--NoParse547-->
  16. I'm afraid the cookie goes to WhoGuru! It is, indeed, a quote from the advisor in the game Dungeon Keeper 2. One of my favourite RTS/Sim game. Thank you for the warm welcome!
  17. Yes, the mods and the avaibiilty of the CS help a lot for the sales. Like its predecessor, Morrowind, Oblivion will live on for a long time. I've heard and read many people who first bought the game on consoles and who switch to PC as soon as they have the money, simply because of the mods. Mods adds new content, features, lands, quests and things to do. Personally, I would have stopped playing Oblivion after a few months if there was no construction set. For any future Elder Scrolls game, I will wait until a CS is announced before I buy the game.
  18. NOTE If you are interested in collaborating articles, PM me and I'll fill you on the details. TABLE OF CONTENTS I. Introduction II. Features at a Glance III. Articles examples (Spoilers!) IV. Credits and Thanks V. Progress I. Introduction I always felt that the Black Horse Courier was a cool concept but was not expanded enough. The game does provide articles for the Dark Brotherhood and the Thieves Guild along with some of the Daedric quests, but it could have provided articles for the Main Quest, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, Arena and some misc. quests. Not ALL quests are covered by the Black Horse Courier, mind you. Only those that I felt would concern the whole of the Empire, not only a local portion. So you won't read about a certain Anvil citizen who found mountain lions eating her rats. Instead you will read about the fate of the Oblivion invasion, the rumors of Skyrim invading Morrowind or your sucess in the Arena matches. II. Features at a glance : - Around 35 new Black Horse Courrier articles - New retextures over the BHC articles. You will now be able to read the article's title directly on the object instead of "opening" the reading screen. - Some articles are published after the completion of a quest. Others are published right at the start of the game and are not quest-related. - Articles cover the Main Quest, Guild Quests, some Daedric quests and some Misc quests. - Some quest-related articles in vanilla Oblivion are changed a bit. - Articles can be obtained by speaking to an employee of the BHC, finding them in homes, inns or guild halls. New bulletin boards are also added in the cities where the new articles are nailed on them. - Some articles contain lore information about a specific subject, like necromancy or a short history of St-Alessia. - Articles are given a "Pro-Empire" and "Pro-Nine Divines" feel since the BHC is funded by the Empire. Therefore, the tone of some subjects covered by the BHC is not from a neutral point of view. Like necromancers and the Dark Brotherhood. - Vanilla quest-related articles will be distributed in the game world. In the vanilla game, they were located only in the BHC Office's basement. III. Articles Examples (SPOILERS!) 19. (Cookie to anyone who guess from which the game the thread title is from. ) Hello! I'm Cliffworms, some of you might know me in the Bethesda Game forums or by the Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 mods I've released. I started playing Elder Scrolls games in 1996 with Daggerfall and since then the Elder Scrolls is pretty much part of my videogame hobby. I still play Daggerfall today, actually. I'm 22 yet I count myself as an old-school RPG gamer. Even today, I keep playing good 'ol games such as Ultima Underworld, Daggerfall, Arena, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Might and Magic, etc. My real life job is video/movie editor and my pasttime is, you guessed it, modding. I always wanted to work in a game company so that's why I'm so hooked up to modding. Since I've been modding for 7 years with Beth's CS, my modding skills are varied. My expertise is interior design, dialogue, quest making and object/npc creation. I suck at exterior design/landscaping though. Finally, I have basic scripting knowledge. I can write very basic scripts and manage to understand some of them. I have currently two Oblivion projects in the works, which I'll post WIP threads soon in the appropriate forum. I have followed the link to the TES Alliance from WhoGuru's signature in BGSF and I must say that I find the looks of these forums very...attractive. I joined not only to talk about modding but also to simply talk in general, wheter it's life, Elder Scrolls or gaming. And thank you for the JukeBox! Movie/Game soundtracks is very relaxing and is ideal when browsing forums. Well, this is it. See you on the forums and thank you for hosting it! Oh and by the way : My Oblivion Mods My Fallout 3 Mods EDIT : Added my modding skills.
