  1. I see that the thread hasn't been updated in a while. I thought I'd share my Sheriff old fart.

    Sheriff.jpg

I managed to finish the game using only cowboy-related equipment and with the basic sheriff duster as an armor (I didn't like the Ranger's Duster). It was though against the Deathclaws, but my cowboy repeater was fully modded and I had the Cowboy Perk and Fast Reload perks. Which meant that my cowboy repeater was almost an automatic weapon and it dealt a LOT of damage to the Deathclaws.

Oh, and he's a pro-NCR guy. Until the end.

  2. I'd have to say I have found almost all the companions but I still keep Boone and Ed-E with me. I just adore the music Ed-E plays and how can you get rid of a bot that has an honor student sticker on him??

They are a great duo to have. My favorite as well.

Ed-E shows you on your radar on which the direction the enemies are while Boone spots them on the field. Perfect combo I say! When both are upgraded, they're almost unstoppable...that is until Ed-E decides to rush in a cave alone to attack some creature he mysteriously spotted...only to get killed if you don't save it.

  3. I'll probably try to work on a choice of Alternate Starting Locations along with Backgrounds the player can take at character creation, like I did for Oblivion. But that will depend on how the game actually starts.

I always loved the backgrounds in RPGs like Arcanum, Fallout 1-2 and Daggerfall. :D

  4. I really prefer the Tribunal, simply because they're the main religion of the game and, thus, have more in-game lore about and characters to interact with than the Imperial Cult. The Pilgrimages quests are my favorite by far.

Also, you get a lot of nice artifacts by the time you reach the end of the questline. :D I prefer those artifacts than what you receive by working for the Imperial Cult.

  5. I shall only use Andre's if he has his kitten with him!

When they announce a CE for Skyrim, I will be getting it, I hope they put something cool in it, I actually really liked the Septim in OB's.

I am waiting for the CE to be announced as well. I wonder what goodies we'll get besides the traditional artbook.

Another CE I'll pre-order is Duke Nukem Forever's Balls of Steel Edition. Mainly for one element: The Bust.

The Poker Chips will go mix well with my New Vegas chips.

  6. I have not posted in a while, less so community pictures. I have some to share since I was away. :P

I'll start with an attire of mine depicting a certain fashion style during the latest Halloween Party.

    Typical Mirror Shot

All typical elements of that style on one body

    And my natural looks.

Actually no. This is my real one. ;)

My hair and beard grow quickly, so I like to have fun with them, disguising myself as a character and heading to a bar/club downtown with friends.

One dancer at a club hit me by mistake... when he looked at me in my biker outfit, his eyes opened with fear and he excused himself. Loved that moment. :D

  7. Hello there!

Well it's been a long, long while. Due to real life duties and some changes in my life, I did not have the time to hang out on forums.

I decided to change career. I'm originally a video editor, but after finding out that I spent more time modding games than getting contract, I decided it might be time to switch to something I love to do. As such, I'm currently following Level Design intensive courses which end on May. After that, it's job finding! In the mean time, I'm also back in the modding scene since I must do as much as I can before sending my job applications. Montreal being one of the most important video gaming cities in North America, I think I should have too much difficulty finding a Level Designer job.

Funny though, I got called two weeks ago for a video editing contract for the UFC, which I accepted. It's funny that it's always when you decide to leave something for good that it comes back at you. :P

I spent a month in Germany last Summer. I loved that country, loved the people, loved pretty much everything. I visited only cities but next time I travel there again, I'll spend all my time in the wilds. Especially in the mountains to the south. They are a sight to behold.

So, to anyone who remembers me: Hail! I'm back!

To those who do not know me: Hail! It'll be fun to get to know and help each other .

    Cheers!

    Cliff :wicket:

P.S: I have to admit that Minecraft was also one of the causes for my inactivity on the forums. :smug:

  8. I did get crashes before managing to not get any. Here's how.

    1. I loaded the CS only with Oblivion.esm loaded and saved my empty plugin.

    2. Using TES4Edit, I made it dependant on Knights.esp

    3. I load the plugin in the CS and then I make a modification to the Tamriel worldspace. Like moving a random rock then placing it back. (That's what I found out searching threads on the forums. A modification to the Tamriel worldspace must be done)

    4. Save, no crash. But I lose the dependancy on Knights.esp. Arrrhh. XD

  9. Hail!

I'm currently having trouble regarding the KOTN DLC modding.

For Losing My Religion, I have to create a patch/addon using variables and references from the KOTN DLC.

Using de-isolation, I've been able to load KOTN's dlc, Knights.esp, and save a new plugin. I then take the new plugin, and make Knights.esp a master of it, using TES4Edit.

When I go back to the CS and load my addon, that's where the problem happens. Knights.esp as a master loads fine. But as soon as I save changes, Knights.esp is no longer a Master and, thus, my newly saved plugin loses all KOTN's references and variables I used.

Has anyone been able to work with KOTN's dlc? Am I doing something wrong with de-isolation? (I'm most likely certain I am. )

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks a lot Darkstone!

The mod is greatly inspired by the Morrowind mod called Atmospheric Sound Effects, which I can't play without.

I've just added a new sound effect that really enhances immersion when raining. If you get near a tent, outside, when it's raining, you'll hear the rain hit the tent's surface.

This is something I might expand. Hearing rain hit different surfaces in some locations would be very cool and interesting! :D

  11. Progress has been done on the project. All sounds are done. Now it's a matter of placing them in-game.

I've updated the first post with the complete sound list. :D

Here's a nice example of the filters applied to some voice overs.

The result is really interesting, when you compare the filtered version to the original.

Because the voice files have to be modified and included in the package, Sounds of Cyrodiil will be packaged as a .exe installer that checks if you have Oblivion installed. Honestly, I have no idea how to that though. :P

The voice files cannot be simply packed into a zip file. I need to find a way to get the files accessible only to to owners of Oblivion. If anyone knows how to add a condition to an installer (Such as checking if Oblivion's registry exists), let me know! :)

If it is not possible, or too complicated because the installer might not not recognize D2D or Steam versions of the game, I'll do two different versions.

In any case, feel free to comment on the filters. I really love it myself! :D

  12. I had a bit of a surprise while working on packages. I was testing new package types and I did it in a "controlled environment". (Like a lab! :))

I made a duplicate of the testing hall and added the objects and things I wanted the NPCs to interact with. I create a single package unique to all of them. It works perfectly, great!

Those were Test NPCs. They had no items (Thus naked), were High Elves and were commoners. So I created my Official NPCs and placed them in the gameworld. I created copies of the package and only changed relevant properties (The location, the target, etc). But I forgot to duplicate one and took the one assigned to the Test NPCs. It was a "Eat" in a specified "Cell".

I arrive at the Tavern and find 5 naked High Elves having a drink along with the official NPCs.

I do not have pictures, I'm sorry. XD

  13. Si-Shen: :)

Well, anyone likes traveling around the world?

I'm flying to Germany in 2 weeks for a 3 weeks trip. I arrive at Hamburg, then travel the country clockwise. My inns are booked only at Hamburg and Berlin. The rest, I improvise. Actually most of the trip is. I'll decide what I want to see when I'll be on German ground with my backpack. ;)

  14.

I nearly died laughing at that. Tried to read it to my cousin, and couldn't she had to read it and she :P too XD Thats good, I love it.

    XD

I'm glad to have made both you and your cousin laugh!

I'm siding with Clifford the Big Red Worm here. :P

    Red? :P

Not all worms are red. Actually, I don't know what color I am. :smug:

MMORPG, 100% procedurally generated content. Roughly 4.5 billion years in the making with no expense spared.

Beware of the hackers though! Sometimes they make permanent changes to the servers, hacking the creatures such as creating "Delete" commands, destroying environment to hack cities and villages inside. If only there existed a program called "Punish Hackers" or something. :P

There's been a hacker recently, they said he messed up the water real good with an advanced virus...

  15. Natural? what is that?

Get insde your house the predators of the insects that annoy you the most. XD

If spiders annoy you, get a cat. But cats don't eat small bugs. And sometimes they don't eat spiders either, but they'll punch them to death. It's always fun to watch. :P

  16. It happens to me everytime I use custom resources as well. It's a bother, indeed. If you have many, though, I'd say to change the path as soon you want to use them. Doing it all in the end can be rather tiresome.

The only thing I wish the CS had regarding new meshes, would be that the browser does not return back to the "Meshes" folders each time. I'd love if it would stay at the previously opened folder. That way you wouldn't have to open the same folders again...and again...and again!

  17. Bees: If it flies, and stings, it is NOT my friend. I tend to resort to chemical warfare, and reduce their homes to toxic waste dumps. At one time, I had a nest of some flavor of ground bee, by a bush I yanked out. (yes, that was exciting.... in more ways than one.) These guys were HUGE. At least 4 inches long, with a larger wingspan...... No WAY was I going to co-exist with them..... So, their home got a nice gasoline bath. (only a few ounces, it REALLY does not take much) Let that soak in, and..... no more bees. After a couple days, I removed the contaminated soil. (along with a scary number of bee corpses........)

Spiders: Spiders are my friend. They eat mosquitoes. Another flying/stinging thing, that I absolutely despise.

Bees are cute though! I like them, sometimes I let them wander on my arm. The only times I'll shoo them away is when I'm eating on my deck and they come buzzing around my food. And, if they do make a nest too close to my house, or inside some corner hole, I shut down their business. Sadly. One summer, there was a wasp hive being constructed under the swimming pool's border. Thankfully it was just starting. My dad was cleaning this area and got a nice surprise when he felt the hive in his hands.

Spiders, I let some live inside my house. As long as they don't take too much space, I'm fine with it. When you have a spider, there are many other insects that you don't have. They're very useful! If they become a bother, I'll gently put them in my hand and put them outside.

I squish, smash, burn and nuke ALL Spiders, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE spiders. They are evil, demon, demonic eight legged freaks from Hell, and thats where they belong.

I've been bite by 2 too many spiders, sleeping in my bed. both brown recluses. no bad side effects from the bite, I noticed them the day of the bite and got to the hospital and got the bites treated.

When I was 10 I was inches from being bitten by a Black Widow, it was inches away from my finger.

Ouch, those seem like bad spiders. I only have the traditionnal household spiders you find in most houses in North America. They rarely bite, and if they do, you don't feel anything. And they're cowards. I understand them though, when you are being chased by a giant pink finger, you have to run for your life!

  18. Or maybe...

    The Forlorn Watchman

Actually with your awesome mustache, hair and stare, you remind me of one of Ultima Underworld's sorcerers. I can't find a picture anywhere... If you played the game, it's the sorcerer who appears in your dreams when you sleep.

    Awesome pic! :D

Well, time to try to beat your mustache...

When I shaved my hair, I still had a pretty nice and big beard. I had swore to my friends that if I'd ever shave my hair, I'd make myself a huge biker stache, wear a biker's outfit and go out downtown. And so I did...

    Waiting at the metro station

Heading to the Bar. My brother on the right, my friend on the left.

Ordering my beer at the bar

Fun fact: After leaving the bar, we went to the nearest club. Sadly, they would not let me in with my coat, but I had planned everything. I had a rock n' roll t-shirt with guitars and skulls. Well, I was dancing on the dance floor and someone accidently hit me. We both turn at the same time to see where it came from....

 The fear in his eyes.... he quickly said "Whoa! I'm sorry! Sorry! Really sorry man! Sorry!" Me, Cliff, the least violent and aggressive person in the world, has managed to inspire fear in somebody! ice.gif

Oh, that's my everyday look. I plan to eventually buy a motorcycle. You can be certain that I'll do a couple more pictures with a bikerstache..

  19. Ahh insects and reptiles.. I love 'em!

Spiders, bees, tarantulas, lizards, snakes. When I was a kid, I was always in the garden playing with insects. (Well, for me it was "playing". For them, it was chaos and anarchy each time I lifted the rocks under which they hid)

I used insects for many personal experiments. Such as putting ants found in the same spot of dirt in a small aquarium, then taking ants from another spot of dirt. I thought they'd be friend... Nope. It turns out they didn't like each other and a small battle took place. :)

Around 3 years ago, I went to Berlin and visited the Zoo there. It's one of the most renown zoos in the world. Well I had more fun in the reptiles/insects section than in the mammals. Looking at jaguars sleeping is not as fascinating as observing a colony of ants. :)

  20. I'd love to experience real virtual games, without wielding glasses.

Around 10 years ago, there was a place in my city called "Virtual Buzz", there were a couple of virtual games there. One of those was a boxing game. It was awesome. :)

Turn your head and the game turns, crouch and the game crouch, give a punch and you see 3D arm punching.

There was another place, called "Virtual World" that offered two types of virtual games. A sci-fi racing game and a kill 'em all game with robots, à la Mechwarrior. What was very nice, was that the game was played in a cockpit. The front side of your cockpit displayed the screen (A very big screen!) and the cockpit was motion sensored.

You could feel your robot advancing, or your car making a speed turn.

Too bad, those two businesses didn't last long. Too expensive to maintain. :)

Right, so, real virtual games in the future! I would LOVE to play a Silent Hill game in a virtual reality. Or Left 4 Dead in a virtual reality. That'd be awesome. :P

  21. Hehe so it must be a very, very large room!

Don't forget that you can resize objects up to 10 times their size (And even more I think)

And do not mind about getting your fog to expand outside the walls. If you expand them to the maximum size, I'm sure you'd need at least two or three. You see, if the fog is expanded too much, it's thinner. But duplicating one or two, and slightly altering their position bring more thickness. And less FSP impact. XD
