  1. Color me surprised. For some reason I've always pictured him her as a really manly 20something guy. Like with a mustache and a eyebrow piercing.
  2. I have no idea how having duplicated vertexes makes something sharp, or how removing them would make it smooth. All that stuff is normals/smoothing groups, I thought. Does pyFFI remove anything that we can't do by hand when modeling? I always make sure to keep my models clean and optimized, so should I bother to pyFFI them after I'm done?
  3. Mr.Siika's rock resource has some good cliffs that you might like. There is also an unused set to cliff meshes in the Great Forest rock set, and Shivering Isles has some as well.
  4. Been working on this for a while, figured I'd make an official topic. The mod seeks to make the Temple of the Ancestor Moth look like an epic temple full of moths who can read the future. Besides the aesthetic changes, the Thieves Guild dungeon part of the temple has also been completely renovated to look more like an actual retreat for ancient, powerful priests rather than a pitch black dungeon. I'm trying to great it towards sneaky characters, and I'd love for input on what you'd like to see. Progress: Exterior - 100% Interiors - 80% Simultaneum (thats the chapel church thing) - 100% basically the same as the old one, but more detailed. Thieve's Guild Dungeon - 90% Done, but I'll be adding more detail as I go along. Temple proper - 70% The Narthex and library need aditional detailing, but otherwise done. Monk's Quarters - 60% Technically totally finished, but I plan to make new models that will require some backpedaling. Crypt - 100% basically the same as the original, only more detailed. The entrance to the dungeon has been moved to the temple proper. NPCs/AI - 30% the AI from Oblivion works, but some of it needs to be changed to work with the new layout. More NPCs will be added. Dialog/Quests - 30% Thieve's Guild quest has been updated to reflect the new dungeon. Still need to write dialog for the new NPCs. Screenshots (most of these have undergone some changes): The exterior The Thieves Guild dungeon The Simultaneum The library Living quarters

Entryway to the Temple of the Ancestor Moth. Still work in progress, but at least the lights are now working correctly

  6. Looking great! The only thing bothering me are the steep yet grassy slopes. Might want to slap some rocks on those to make them look like cliffs.
  7. Its a shot from my overhaul of the Temple of the Ancestor Moth. I've not really announced it anywhere yet, just been stealthily posting screenshots
  8. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. The helm would probably clip through lower ceilings and may look a bit weird when doing action animations.

  10. Is that just the shirt, or the shirt imported over the vanilla body? I'd remove the parts of the body which are hidden below the shirt, which will not only remove clipping but also save polygons.
  11. You can't see it in this screenshot, but above the straw is another layer of clay (). I'm not sure if I'll keep it in at all, I may switch it out to more disorderly reeds or wood. Or I may get rid of it completely Helkori actually is in the current release, but without towns or anything. Just terrain and a procedurally generated rocks and plants.

Still wip, gotta redo the crappy straw top.

  13. Its been done, and has gone over pretty well. You'll get more downloads and comments from a complete mod, though. I would keep the episodes to a minimum so that there is less hassle and clutter for both you and the players.

I didn't realize it was Morrowind until I saw MGE in the description o.o
  15. Its just a crappy rumor, likely based on the player character Bethesda uses to show off the game (who is a male Nord named Bendu Olo).
  16. I believe all the locations are from the Songs of Pelinal. There are actually a few ruins mentioned in lore that are missing from the map, I'll see if I can make a more complete version.
  17. On the other hand, they do have that new tree-thing which could come in a separate program (though I don't think it should/will).
  18. Nah, I think its still the same old construction set, just renamed. Fallout's CS was named the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, too.
  19. From what little I know of the Lost Spires, its hardly lore-correct. I suppose its OK for another mod to reference its lore, but players who have not LS for some reason might get confused. Personally, I think the idea sounds good. I've always felt that lore research was missing from the Mage's Guild and the game in general. I'm here, BSF, and TIL for lore help if you need it [edit] Found this map I made a while back, it might be useful.
  20. I had a big project in the works that the engine change threw a potential wrench into. If Skyrim botches lore, a lore expansion/overhaul (adding things that are missing, removing things that don't belong, new dialog, etc.) will be priority #1.
  21. Gamebyro is perfectly capable of doing that. However, its almost certainly CG'd in Max or something, since thats just where you do complex animated graphics. donnato: make sure you have flash.
  22. 11 month is the shortest time Beth has ever had. They are usually about a year and a half, iirc. Personally, I think the timing is just about perfect.
  23. I was assuming that it refers to some sort of authority figure, perhaps the Moot?
  24. Who asked me to repost, so here it is Who are "they?" Most obviously, dragons. However, this is not exactly a satisfactory explanation. The Tamrielic dragons, like Nafalilaargus in Redguard, were not defeated and nothing in lore suggests that they would be coming back in a dramatic, dangerous fashion. We also have no historical record of them ever terrorizing Tamriel. If they really are just strait up dragons, it could be a retcon or a gap in our lore knowledge. Other possibilities include the more metaphorical: Tsaesci/Akaviri - they have been defeated in the past, and their coming back would be dangerous and dramatic. Dragons are also said to originate from Akavir. However, Akavir is not exactly near Skyrim. I am also unsure as to why the Akaviri (well acquainted with Dragons, Immortal Vampire Snakemen, and God-Tiger-Dragons) would be afraid of the Dragonborn. Their existence is not exactly disputed, either. Akatosh - the Dragon Lord of Time, and Nordic Alduin, that is "World Eater." He is the destroyer of worlds, and perhaps the Nord's biggest 'enemy' (as much as a Shiva-like god can be an enemy). "They" being multiple makes this less plausible, though it could refer to his multitude of underlings (including the Jills, or time-mending lady dragons). I doubt that the Nords don't believe he existed. The Empire - dragons are their symbol, and they were defeated, and are set to come back. The sheer amount of gravitas granted to this event makes this an unlikely explanation. Again, their existence is not disputed. However, the nature of their divine right to rule (their dragon status) probably is. It could of course be some sort of combination of these, like an Akaviri Emperor who is mantling Talos. Or It could be someone we've never heard of before. Who is the Dragon Born? "Dragon Born" is used to refer to the Cyrodil Emperors, due to their being 'born' from the Alessian covenant with Akatosh. While the Septim empire has fallen, we know that at least one (that of Titus Mede) has taken its place since. The Imperial armor on the man makes Imperial origin almost certain. Dragons are also associated with Akavir and with time, so "Dragon Born" could could be Akaviri or an avatar/embodiment/child of Akatosh (like a Shezarine, but with Akatosh). Tiber Septim (anon Talos, anon Ysmir) is the emperor most often associated with the dragon sigil. He is also the patron of empire and conquest. His being shown strongly suggests that the player will once again take a supporting role in TESV, since the hero (the Dragon Born) is established as male and mustachio'd. It is also possible that the Dragonborn will be reincarnated in/ mantled by the player. The latest lore on Skyrim can be found in the Aldudagga, by Michael Kirkbride. The teaser site gives us further details on the stella. Here are my additional thoughts:
  25. Is it possible to use regular meshes, not particles, for magic effects? Make a textured place float over a character, for instance.
