  1. Just because I'm bored and this thread is fun, Imma go ahead and give the poor thing another go with the defribrilator.

    The capital of Elsweyr is...

    a) Dune

    b) Torval

    c) The Mane

    d) Rimmen

If you answer please post a question, or the thread grinds to a halt again.

  2. The canister being tiny is accidental. I would offer to fix it but I don't have blender on this computer :(

The pots, on the other hand, are meant to be that small, they're just little jars. They're actually not new models, just the vanilla mortar/pestle with new vanilla textures> Sorry for the havok-related confusion, I guess I didn't change all the setting when I made them static, really sorry about that.

I don't think it's really worth including size variations (maybe for some of the havoky stuff, but definitely not for statics) the modders have the "s" key, they'll be fine XD

  3. I'm glad you're still working at this :D I think cliffs are always good, and if you want people to be able to get onto the mountains, paths are essential. Perhaps there could be precarious rickety bridges and walkways? They're always nice :P Fissures and rifts are probably not really achievable within Oblivion's landscaping system, but I suppose they would be pretty cool. Also, I think the odd ruin or ancient monument really adds to the overall effect of the region, so that would be nice. Oh, and waterfalls, never enough waterfalls :lmao:

Hope that's given you some food for thought :)

  4. In an interview with Todd Howard he did say no mounted combat because it would unbalance the gameplay. I believe it was the Aussiegamer interview. I'll try to find it.

I think I heard something along those lines too. I can kind of understand that actually, I mean if you could kill stuff just as well from horseback, when would you ever dismount? :lmao:

  5. There is one mod I already want for Skyrim. Something to change the font of the menus and messages XD I know, it's a small thing, but in all the demos I couldn't stop looking at the font- it might have looked good in Fallout perhaps, but it seems all wrong for a fantasy game. Of course, they might change it between now and the release, so fingers crossed :P

  6. Pete Hines said on Twitter a while back that armor would be comprised of separate pieces, but didn't mention specifics. Remember in vanilla Oblivion how some outfits take up both legs and chest slots, such as the upperclass stuff? That's what I'm expecting the armor will be like. Maybe we'll still have the slots to do things with, but the vanilla armor will need editing.

That does sound the most likely to me. The question asked of him on Twitter was something along the lines of "will armor be separated into separate parts like boots, cuirass, gauntlets, greaves and helmets or will it all be one item?" His response was simply that armour would be separate pieces, it seems kinda like he was avoiding saying that that list was correct. It doesn't really bother me that much, it's kind of a shame, but no deal-breaker. I would also find a little surprising though. I mean, you've seen the amount of bandits in Oblivion who had the old, light cuirass, light boots and lower class pants/skirt combo.

By the way, anyone else already dislike their concept of a Clairvoyance spell that shows you the way through dungeons for you? Argh, the questmarkers were enough! Don't make our labyrinths totally pointless!

Perhaps they're removing the quest markers, and replacing them with a more immersive handholding system? I mean, it seems a little pointless having both (although I suppose the linear quest markers didn't guide you through dungeons that well). If they have markers and the spell, then i would dislike that (although you could just choose not to use the spell). On the other hand, if the spell is a replacement for the quest markers, I would be in favour

  7. That. Armor that makes sense. Armor that protects and looks good. I'm really happy for that. This has been one of the things I've always liked in Bethesda's games; all women look normal, not only in their shape but also in their clothes and armor.

    /end rant

Hear, hear! Golden bikinis aren't armour XD (yes, WoW, we're looking at you >.>)

  8. I agree, just think they overdid it a bit. Granted could be a bad angle in the screencap, but looks too bulky in the shoulder and thigh areas.

I have to agree, in the latest video, where you see him moving on horseback in 3rd person mode, I couldn't ignore how enormous the horse's thighs were. They were like two barrels strapped together O_o There's also something weird about the way they're doing thick hair/fur I think. You can see it on the horse's ankles, on the mammoths and on the khajiit's arms or armour (whichever it was). I don't hate it, it just seems kinda weird. Overall though, the horse looks 100 times better than Oblivion's; they didn't even have hair, they just looked like plastic. So it seems the horses are improving if you ask me (admittedly the step up from Morrowind's to Oblivion's horses was more marked :P )

Also, these screenshots give us our first good look at female armour, two varieties from the looks of it, and they both look awesome :D I especially like the woman in front of the big hall's armour, with the high collar. just thought I'd share that XD

On another note, a lot of people are concerned, it seems, that greaves have been removed from the game, and merged with cuirasses. There was an 8-page thread about this on the OF last night (which I can dig up a link for if anyone really cares to read it :lmao: ). This is based mainly on what the new videos show of the inventory screen: Todd (or whoever was playing the game for that demo) had "elven armor" and "iron armor" in his inventory. The 3d view of the "elven armor" only showed a cuirass, but the robes also only showed the top half. There was no evidence of any greaves in the inventory (that we saw) yet the character is clearly wearing some. Hardly concrete evidence, but cause for concern for some, it seems.
