About Me

Well, what about me? I have no life. My computer and my pool and my doggies are my life!

But in another way, I do have a life. I wander through roleplay venues all over the world. And that's the key word here -- Wander.

Long before Dungeons&Dragons polluted the world, I found the novels that are at the core of today's western-world fantasies. That is, I discovered Tolkien's stories, and discovered his dream that his characters, worlds, and philosophies could someday be part of the English-speaking world.

So... I'm a ranger. I'm not one of the mythical Dunedain, and I'm not the queen of the world, I'm a ranger. I'm not a werewolf, I just like dogs and wolves and keep them as pets. I don't surf down the tusk of an oliphant on some dead guy's shield, I just do what has to be done, in or out of gaming worlds.

But I'm a ranger. I live in the middle of a forest, surrounded by songbirds, raccoons, wildcats, and of course butterflies and mosquitos. The good with the bad, that is to say.

In roleplay venues I also live in the middle of forests, or roam them constantly with no fixed home other than the forest itself. And you wouldn't believe the size of some of those roleplay mosquitos, let me tell you!

I always look like myself, too. That is, I'm always going to have reddish-brownish hair, with anywhere from a little bit, to a heck of a lot, of silver. I said silver! Not grey!

I'm always going to be considered tall for a woman. Even when I'm barefoot. But that's the way it is, and what the heck, short gentlemen can always stand on a box, right?

I'm always going to be muscular but plump, because no matter how often I pull a bow, or swing a sword, or how long I hike or swim each day, let's face it -- I'm a girl who likes her dinner, and likes a good single-malt following it.

And I'm always going to have green eyes. Sometimes they'll be moss-green, when I smile at you. Sometimes they'll be a muddy green, when I'm reading or relaxing or counting my gold or polishing my gems or playing my harp. Sometimes they'll be a glittering emerald green, but that's only if I plan to put an arrow through you or show you the sharp edge of my blade.

And I'm always going to be on the far end of "old", because, what the heck, I am old. But the great thing about roleplay is, I can just pretend that "old" means "fairly experienced"...

... Because it does. And one thing that experience has taught me, is that everyone I meet has something wonderful to share or sing about or write of or demonstrate.
