  1. Thats right, im back, kinda.

I have a feeling Beth is working on TES6 for possibly a late 2018 or early 2019 release and i want get back in modding shape. I dont plan on releasing anything but theres still that farmhouse tileset ressource nagging at me so i might look into that.

    Good to be back.

  3. Use Generic Unit, same as Bethesda when they make their games using 3dsmax.

If you're gonna make tilesets, try to keep them 256x256, 512x512, etc. Height only matters if you plan to make them stackable. You should always try to keep your polygons count as low as possible, ie a plane surface doesn't need subdivision unless you plan on having vertex shading, or the smaller the cylinders, the less sides you need to preserves the illusion of roundness. In 3d modeling for games, less is always better. If your stuff is optimized it means everyone will be able to enjoy it.

Yes you can use vanilla textures on your new meshes, but you're gonna have to work hard in the UV mapping department to make them fit. Its not like with Oblivion textures where you had multiple textures for one mesh, they were simple and could be applied to almost anything. The Skyrim textures, like FO3, are based on unwrapped UV maps, meaning they're complex, and you often only have a few per nif.

  4. Love it. To see what the pros come up with, its great, we might even learn new tricks. Some may even become the new standards, like the actual interactive building.

Adoption, thats great too, but it makes me feel like my character, or my spouse, is sterile. If theyre going to incorporate the option to have a family, i want them to go all the way. Kids of your own, and bastards too. See your wife get bigger. A quest interrupted by a courier, demanding you come back home for the birth of your child. The baby is born, from another race, oops! The possibilities are endless. It could give a new life to the game for when all quest are finished and you settle down. Choose a trade to go with your new life, fisherman, hunter, farmer, whatever. Teach your kids skills as they grow, go on adventures with them. Your family could get sick and some could die. Your estate could get raided by goblins and you would have to rebuild. Again, so many possibilities.

I guess we'll have to settle for the generic kids for now.

  5. Asus motherboards are great. Heres the order from basic to intermediate (<200$). Here at Newegg for the prices.

    P8Z77-M (uATX)

    P8Z77-V-LX

    P8Z77-V-LK

    P8Z77-M-Pro (uATX)

    P8Z77-LE

    P8Z77-LE Plus

    P8Z77-V

    P8Z77-I Deluxe (mITX)

If you want a full board, you can forget about the M, M Pro and I Deluxe. The LEs and V have advanced options that you wouldn't use anyway or rarely. So that leaves you with the LX or LK. The only difference being the LK gives you the opportunity of full SLI in the future, better audio, 2 additional USB3. All this for the same price as the LX, or 10$ less on newegg at the moment.

I never owned a Gigabyte board, but i hear good things from the GA-Z77X-UD3H. It might be a little more expansive, but it has a cool feature, a mSATA slot.

In the end, its really up to you. How much you want to pay. Compare the brands and make a decision.
