  1. If you only need that single mesh to be altered, I could help you with the nif, just tell me what you want to be removed.

That would be great, but I would need two .nif's edited.

This pic shows the problem. The beam visible in the fireplace.

This pic shows the piece of RifRmSmSingleCorInWin01 I would need removed or made transparent.

I would need the same thing done to RifRmSmSingleCorInR01

I would just like the inside of my small Riften Farmhouse to look like it's the same building as the outside.

So if you could manage the two of them, that would be excellent.

  2. That's enough for me, I was struggling with this last one.

Thanks, I learnt enough to make my own player home.

Edit: I checked the navmesh with Lydia & she was able to follow me anywhere, taking the path to the front door when I run through the scrub.

She didn't look for cover when the dragon attacked though.

I was unsure about naming the stable marker but it seemed to work.

    Thanks again for the tutorial.

  3. OK, I think I have all the screenshots needed to show I passed lesson 1.

I had to add the navmesh shot because it was the only screenshot I have that shows the 2nd mounted animal.

After having trouble with the lighting & some artefact around the door edge after lesson 2, I decided to reinstall the CK & uninstall my mods (I only had about 25 so I don't think they were the problem)

and restart from scratch, but unfortunately I went right through to lesson 2 without taking screenshots from lesson 1 again.

  4. I no sooner get my lighting problem sorted & now I'm having trouble with the door.
At the end of lesson 2, he says to add FarmHouseDoor01, which I have, but it is the opposite side to the one in his inn.
If I turn the door 180 degrees, I get the round ring handle on the inside (which his doesn't have)
But the problem I have with the door is that I get a glimmer of light from the top edge & one side.
I used snap to grid 16 & tried without it.

    The door is a X -256.000, y -352.000, Z 0.000

  5. Thanks, but I seemed to have missed something.

There was nothing in the Lesson 1 that I did that told you to add doors (or indeed, how to add doors)

This one has you starting your navmesh from the door, on an inn that has doors. I don't even have a doorway on the second floor.

I don't need the door to add the navmesh, but I'm wondering where I missed out on the door adding bit.

Oh' and I PM'd him about the link.

  6. I have done lesson 1 of the basic CK tutorial.

I got my inn built & furnished alright, but I don't know what I am doing wrong with the lighting.

The firelight (FarmInteriorFireLight01) & the candle lights (HelgenCandleLight01) go on and off like a switch with a slight change in camera angle.

Switching from next to previous you can see how little the camera has to move to make the light go off.

I have no lighting mods & any lighting settings are on default.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong would be much appreciated.

    EDIT:

I did a clean reinstall of the CK & removed all but 7 essential plugins from my game, then redid lesson 1 from scratch.

I still got the same problem.

If I just had 1 HelganCandleLight01 on the chandelier & the FarmInteriorFireLight01 on the fire, everything worked fine.

But if I added a 2nd HelganCandleLight01 anywhere downstairs, all 3 lights would come & go as I moved around.

What I thought was the upstairs bedroom candlelight playing up in the screenshot was actually the chandelier light from downstairs coming intermittently through the floor.

I got around it by only having one candlelight source downstairs & adding a torch to my custom chest.

But with so many others building essentially the same room for the lesson, has no one else struck this?

  7. Thanks, I have already done most of the first lesson before reading the introduction & I had update.esm loaded.

Is there any way to remove the dependency on it, or do I have to start again?

And thanks for the Tutorial, it is far and away the best I've found.
