Simple Inter-Script Communication: Filling a Trough

>I set the Name to Water Level rather than Trough, and set the Activate Override Text to Check. Now, when I activate the trough, the prompt will say "Check Water Level" instead of a simple "Activate Trough".
How did you do that? You know, when writing a tutorial, it would be good to explain ALL steps, don't you think? My trough cannot be activated in any way.
