  1. There's some lovely stuff being made here, Porscha.
  2. He's staring into my soul!
  3. Best thing I've read today: "Next, don’t hesitate for too long waiting for some ephemeral moment in time when you’re “ready†or “good enough.†Those things don’t really exist, and you’ll just be setting yourself up with excuses to never start. Get to work." Tracy J Butler

  4. A character shot from Stoney? And unsurprisingly, it is awesome. I haven't seen many character interaction shots of Skyrim, so this is doubly nice.

    Lucky shot...jpg

He's living the meme, poor guy. And whoa, I never really noticed what big feet Draugr have. Big, smelly, undead feet... Oh but wait, that's a Falmer! Somehow that makes it even weirder.

    Earth Elemental

    That's damn cool, StarX!
  7. Had to log back in during dinner to tell you how lovely this shot is, Stoney.

    On The Breeze

His head is tilted just so. A perfect moment, captured.
  9. "Take a look." I adore this guy.
  10. I definitely see that point as well. However, it has been my experience that shop merchants (at least in my game) typically sell one or two at a time, if at all. Could just be my character's luck at work, dunno. In any case, I prefer to buy my picks from the caravans. I think the rest of the changes you are considering sound like they would add real regional character to the game, and I'm all for that. Keep going!
  11. I shouldn't have to join the thieves guild just so I can have reliable access to a required tool for dungeon exploration, but as long as I can still buy my lockpicks from the Khajiit caravans, it's all good.
  12. I've heard that the perk "Shadow Warrior" (100 Sneak) can make your eyes look like that- do you have that perk? If not, then the only other thing I can think of is it might be shout-related, as apparently the "Aura Whisper" shout can make your eyes go wonky, but I am unsure if it's the same kind of wonky that's seen in your example above. Regarding Windhelm, I've read that if you've begun the Civil War quests (for either side)or the Dark Bro questline, those can disrupt "Blood on the Ice". I've completed that quest successfully, but only with characters that were ignoring those two questlines. That's all I have, sadly. Hopefully some of the other fine folks here can pitch in and help get you sorted.

Wasn't there something about that in Dante's description of the Sixth Circle? :P

  19. I'll add here that I avoided the Thieves Guild quest just last night by feigning outrage at Brynjolf's proposal- I believe the dialog option was "But that would mean breaking the law", to which he replied "Oh, sorry miss, I'm usually so good at sensing these things." Something like that, anyway. Still, I'm all for more roleplaying options- ratting him out (like it would do any good, given Riften's level of corruption, but still...), simply telling him a flat "No", so you don't have to choose the default sanctimonious prig response, or hell, even giving Brynjolf a good kick in the shin would be fun.
  20. Now that I think about it, my quality/compression settings are probably why I had less chunky results with Paint.NET. I never save my jpgs at max quality- I typically opt for 95-98% instead, because it seems to dramatically reduce file size without much quality loss. Typically after taking a screenie, if I end up going buckwild with postwork (filter hijinks, lots of layers, etc), the PNG ends up being around 2-3 mb. Converting to jpg at 100% quality usually results in a 1.2ish mb file, but at 95-98% it ends up in the 350-700 kb range with Paint.NET. Anyway, I'm rambling now. And missing screenshooting terribly now, too!
  21. I think the Paint.NET one looks better- I can discern the details just a tiny bit better, or at least I think I can. Out of curiosity, which program gave you the smaller file size? I recall thinking that MS Paint created abnormally chunky JPEGs, compared to GIMP or Paint.NET.

    Atub

Robe texture, shmobe texture- what stands out to me is the unique and beautiful character (Orcs rawk), the dramatic portrait angle, and the sense that I'm seeing an authentic Skyrim character with a story to tell. Atub was such an interesting NPC to me- I think this pic honors her. MOAR!

    Sleeping Tree

This is a gorgeous screenshot- I love the composition and the contrast between the roseate sky and the amber terrain. Totally saved.
