Most likely you'll agree that Morrowind's menus could use sprucing up. So this one is at work on Brighter Menu Buttons, an effort to make those tired old options shine like gold. Have a look-see: This project is possible thanks to Eldarion's tutorial, so credit where it's due. Word is proceeding apace. Several textures have been sharpened, some added to the game, and this one is at work scaling everything up twice its original resolution.

I've found that one of the biggest turn-offs to Morrowind is trying to put together a building interior from those finicky square pieces. Has anyone found CS settings (rotation, snap to grid, etc.) that make it easier?

Hello. This one has a minor problem. He's trying to sharpen up Morrowind's menu buttons, but doesn't know what compression to use on the .dds textures. Is there any way to view an image's properties in Gimp?

Hi. I've got some questions about Robert's Male. Last time I played, some of the clothing and armor textures, namely the iron cuirass and a beggar's shirt, were missing. I'm not sure if there are others as I haven't left Anvil. Load order is as follows: *Oblivion *Knights.esp *Shivering Isles *Wayshrine Markers *Robert's Female *Alternative Start by Robert Evrae *Think to Yourself I just want to add this. I tried adding Robert's Male to my save; nothing doing.

Hello. Just now this one was trying to start a new file using Jazz's Ka Po race and ran into a problem- the textures are missing. Since both the .esp and archive files are present, Tiger is understandably perplexed. All he can guess is that it has something to do with the archive being 'last modified' in 2013, while the plugin was modified in '14 (or so says Windows). Help?

I'm using Windows 7, and the game is installed in C:\Bethesda Softworks. Going to take HeyYou's suggestion now. That's weird. There's an Oblivion save in my "readme" folder. Problem solved. I had the game regenerate its .ini file, then moved my save to the appropriate folder.

I checked My Documents earlier. There was no save folder.

Hello. I just had something unusual happen to my installation of Oblivion. I'd just downloaded a few mods (namely, Exnem and Robert's Male/Female) and went back to load my file. When I went to the load menu, there were no files. I then looked at the game's .ini file and found- no file path! All it said on the relevant line was SLocalSavePath=Saves\ What's going on here? I should note that I installed Oblivion using the Game of the Year disc, but I'm playing with a 5th Anniversary disc. Might that have something to do with the problem? Before I forget, here's my load order: Oblivion.esm Knights.esp DLCShiveringIsles.esp Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp Think to Yourself.esp

Actually, my laptop does have two hard drives. Or maybe it has one, divided into two partitions; I'm not really sure. In any case, it has a C and a D. Good thing, since I originally acquired a laptop with writing in mind. And putting the games on a different drive (partition?) seems like a good idea...

Heh. Too bad good ol' Bethesda isn't interested in porting their games over... Wouldn't mind being able to play Morrowind or New Vegas on Linux.

So, I've heard things both good and bad about Linux. To set the record straight, I'd like to talk to someone who's used it in the past (any version at all). Recently I've started to realize just how unfriendly Windows Seven is. (I mean, trying to seize control of my programs? Putting them in random locations, so I have to go digging for them? Not cool, Microsoft.) I also read that Windows 8 is 'xenophobic' in that it gives non-MS programs a hard time, so I don't want to make the "upgrade" to that system. I have a bushel of games, most of which aren't published by the big guys. That said, if anyone has experience with Windows 8 that suggests otherwise, do let me know. Last of all, I'm concerned about compatibility. Supposedly, most Windows programs can't be made to run on Linux systems. True?

A question, if you would. Which compression setting is used for New Vegas textures- in particular, architecture?

One word of advice- steer clear of anything to do with Pando Media Booster. Its sole purpose is to drag out a download over 24 hours.
