[WIPz] Clocks for My Houses

That looks like irredesent opal, or perhaps an irredesent seashell, Metallicow. :P

I have left the mod to DarkRider and crew to play with and get it prepared for release. There were problems with the quests and dialog which I know nothing about. So, if it was ever to get released, I figured I would let the Alliance have the mod. There was just too much content to let it die on my hard drive all by itself. :P

Any word on the state of this mod?

If you still have the ESP, could you send it to me? I would like to package up the fixes and make a new beta test compressed download file.

Did you hear anything from this? I've been waiting to look at this too. As I said before, I'll be happy to test. I haven't ruled out adding a clock to Imperial Furniture Renovated :)

Those are nice! Wow, I never thought of clocks in some of those settings! :)

I've had to put Imperial Furniture aside for now. I'm just too busy with my other mods right now. I do plan to get another update out before Skyrim, so I'd love to include one or two of these!

Once I get the next update of Oblivion XP out of the way and the next phase of the other major mod I'm working on, I will have some cycles for testing or help with the development of this. That's probably a couple of months from now, realistically.

(The first see through windows ever made for Oblivion. Yeah, this is an old mod. Once I showed this on the Beth site, everyone started doing it.)

I really REALLY want to finish this, but I'm swamped and have no idea when I'll be able to focus on finishing with the attention it deserves so I'm linking the version I have worked on and someone else is welcome to continue work on it. If no one has made any progress when my workload looses up a bit I'll carry on where I left off as planned, but if someone can be working on it in the meantime, that's for the best. All I ask is that you make it known here that you are working on it so I don't dive into it later where you are already working. :)

All I changed was a bit of bug hunting in the quest so to carry on my work you'll want to play test and fix whatever isn't working.

Please forgive the double post. I want to post my progress without editing my last post for the third time.

My test character owns no houses, and so he is buying them as he goes. So far I have completed "The Hostile Takeover" and "Repossession" to the point of returning to Jenny at the Clock Shop. I had forgotten how creatively challenging some of the traps and quests are. I received a healthy reminder in Silhorn South.

I haven't encountered any problems with the exception of the subtitle text zips by for me. I will post an update on my progress again soon.

Load up Elys Universal Silent Voice - it's an OBSE plugin though, but it's the easiest way to slow down the subtitles. The other option is to record a silent mp3 for them, but that makes the mod quite a bit larger. Basically the game figures out how long to display the subtitles by the length of the voice file that goes with it. If there is no voice file, the subtitles zip by.

Yes, thank you. I am aware of Ely's Silent Voice, but when I do testing I normally mention everything I notice including things that might not work if someone doesn't or can't use OBSE and the mod doesn't require it.

= = = = = =

I have noticed a few things which I think were mentioned before, but I'll have to go through the thread and my notes to see. In any case, I'll mention them again. :P

Reposses a clock quest: The gears were not actually removed from inventory after completion of the quest with Jenny. They are marked as quest items and are unable to be dropped or discarded. However, I do see they are supposed to be removed in the debug text area.

A100 (xx016E6A), A112 (xx016E70)

The other items (box of clockworks) previously reported are successfully removed.

Firestone: There is no mention of the needed key in the journal update, it lists everything else though (amulet/hammers) and Shady Sam is sans hammers again. He is alive and well, he just doesn't have the hammers for sale.

There also seems to be some items that do not have icons. The gears mentioned above and the Pocket Watch Amulet received as a thank you gift from A Hostile Takeover.

I'm sure whatever you put your hand to, it will turn out great! :D

I've got a bit of a bigger problem it seems though. Jenny won't sell me the Minotaur Clock if I've purchased the IC Shack before setting foot in the Clockworks for the first time. I received the update that I've killed the Minotaur and return to Jenny, which I've done. I thought Jenny mentioned I could buy it when the Clock was ready, however the journal update indicates I can buy it after I've purchased the Shack. I purchased the shack before visiting Jenny for the first time. I've tried two different characters with somewhat similar mod lists. I'm not sure if I should be waiting a few days as Jenny hasn't not mentioned the Minotaur clock again as of yet (the same game day plus next). Next up is a test with a vanilla character only; I'll report back as soon as I've done that.

Edit: I garnered the same result with a vanilla character. If I purchase the IC Shack prior to talking to Jenny at the Clockworks I do not get the clock. This character also waited 5 game days to see if the topic of the Minotaur Clock would reappear or if the clock itself would appear, no such luck unfortunately.

The bigger problem was me being an idiot. I didn't scroll down far enough in Jenny's inventory. :bagged:

I have returned from the dark depths of quests with fully decorated homes! The clocks are so very wonderful and they look gorgeous too! I've purchased every item Jenny had for sale including all the paintings available too. I've plenty of screenshots too!

Things I noticed (please forgive me if I mention some thing(s) again...):

Things not removed from inventory after completion:

- 5 gears from the Table Top Clock Quest (Marked as quest items and can not be dropped.)

- 2 ea of Gears A110 and A112 from Repossess a Clock quest. I think the difference may be where those gears come from? There are four of each all together in order to get the quest update. 2 of each are found lying around and 2 each are in the clock. (Marked as quest items and can not be dropped.)

- The letter of recommendation. (Not a quest item - so it can be dropped).

A Firestone key is lying by a rock in front of the cave and there are some hammers inside the cave. (I think I counted 3?) There were at least 2.

The Dragon Clock in the Chorrol house seems to be stuck; the time always says 3:00. I have encountered the same result with the Dragon clock in all the different characters games I've tried.

Missing icons.

This has been a very enjoyable experience! Thank you so much for allowing me to participate!

Please do not hesitate to call on me to help.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the Countess in Anvil, Millona Umbranox seems impossible to please. I guess you could say I proved her suspicions correct by stealing the needed item. :lmao: I did want to report this as I experienced her unwillingness to, um, participate easily multiple times with various characters.

And another edit: I thought I remembered icons. I did; after poking around I found the icons from a 9/6/2009 download I had. They just weren't packaged with the latest download (2/12/2011).

Today is the day I work on these issues. :)

The 'beth' link to this mod is probably long gone, so this forum will be my conduit for the mod. Besides, it will only be available for download here as well.

1. I have all the icons I was working on, they were not included with Riders download above.

2. I have the silent voice files, they were not included with Riders download above.

3. I will check the gears and see if I can't get them removed from the players inventory.

4. The key and hammers at Firestone Cave were for testing purposes only so I did not have to go searching around for them. They will be removed.

5. The dragon clock at Chorrol house, probably did not add that clock to the clock control script.

6. I will check with the countess being uncooperative to the player.

I think that is all that was reported.
