Thanks so much for sharing this "How To". I don't have an existing CCM, but I have been working on a personal mod (non-release) using a custom race and a lot of this applies to what I am doing in a number of areas.

Its really nice to have others share their knowledge in this manner...

Thanks. I'm glad it's helpful. I don't see a lot of tutorials explaining about opening two files together and duplicating the items from the non-active mod to make them save into the active mod. This is something I learned the hard way (ie had to figure it out for myself).

By the way, this trick also works to merge armors and weapons into a single mod. I've made myself a repository for dozens of armors into a single .esp file.
