[Misc] Wrye Bash

This one has downloaded Bash and could use a few pointers. For example, there is a message saying one of my mods has an "unkown record group". Any help is appreciated and will be repaid with

Is the "unknown record group" message on the installers tab or the mods tab? I'm trying to jog my memory and it isn't happening.

You were installing a mod when that message came up or were you installing Wrye Bash itself?

If you were installing a mod, it may not be packaged correctly for Bash to correctly identify everything. You'll need to arrange the contents of the zip folder as described in the Readme before Bash will install it correctly. If that is not the case, then you'll need to check to make sure the version of the mod you're wanting to use is compatible with the game version Bash says you have.

If you were installing Bash, make sure you have the recent stable version not a beta version. And then I would just try reinstalling it again.

Version 297.1 is stable, no?

It would be whatever version is available for download at Nexus. I'm using 296 and I've not been over there in ages, so I'm sure it could be up to that number by now.

However, a bit more information about what exactly is happening and what you were trying to do would be very helpful.

If you could post the contents of the small error window, that would be helpful. It sounds like you have a malformed mod though.

Also, yes, 297.1 is the current stable version.
