[SKY] Doors not Linking to the right location

I hope this is the right place to post this.

For the past few weeks I've been working on a personal project for me to try out and learn different aspects of the CK. I feel I have a fairly strong grasp of the basics and spent a lot of time googling and fiddling around with things before I decided it was time to take my problem to the forums.

I've created my own worldspace and after spending a lot of time landscaping and getting the weather to work the way I wanted (more on that later), I moved on to placing static buildings and linking them to interior cells which is something I've done successfully many many times before.

Early on while I was still landscaping I threw a door up and linked it to another door at the top of a mountain I made so that I could check out my landscaping in game. It worked of course.

I spend some time working on defining regions in the region editor because I wanted different weather on top of the mountain than I had at the foot. Took me a little while to figure out but I thought I finally had it working. I checked it out in game and everything seemed alright at the base of the mountain, but in my haste to return to my edits I never bothered to check the top of the mountain.

I deleted the doors I had and added a static building that links to an interior cell. From there a second door links to another interior cell, a mine. From the mine I finally linked to a door on top of the mountain. I double checked my links inside of CK (double clicking on the yellow marker to view the linked door) on both sides and they both worked fine. However whenever I attempt to activate the link from the mine in game it teleports me back to cell 0,0 (the cell I'm trying to access is 2,5).

After deleting, replacing, and relinking the doors to no avail I went ahead and put a door at the top of the mountain and a door at the base of the mountain, and linked them directly. Was once again teleported to cell 0,0. I deleted the regions I had made (since that was the only difference I could see between now and when the doors were working). No change. I tried to cow on that cell and it still redirected me back to 0,0. I attempted to cow to another mountain top cell but again was redirected.

I'm fairly frustrated at the moment since linking doors is such a simple operation and I had it working before. Can anyone shed some light on this problem of mine?

All right, I tried your suggestion DarkRider and there was no change. I went ahead and uninstalled all of the mods I'd gotten from Nexus, just in case one of them was causing an issue somehow. Loaded a clean save and no effect. I'm frankly rather puzzled about the whole thing...All of the other doors on the island work perfectly and I can COW to anywhere on the island as long as it's not on top of the mountain. I have no idea what on earth is going on up there but it's driving me crazy.

I'm almost to the point where I'm considering scrapping the whole thing and starting over...which would be rather painful, but since this project is just for me and is all about learning I'm not above doing it.

This is just a shot in the dark--but how tall is your mountain? I remember when I was building a worldspace in Oblivion that there were hard limits on how high you could go. Maybe your door is outside that range--that's why it bumps you back to cell 0,0. No idea if that's actually what's going on--but even in Skyrim I'm sure there's a limit to the altitude at which things like doors are a good idea ;).

Good luck with the bashing your head against the wall--sometimes the wall does break. I hope you don't have to start from scratch either--as I know a little bit about how much work goes into that sort of thing. Have you ever tried creating TES topography from satellite data of real-world topography? I have. I don't recommend it for amateurs or people who like sleep ;).
