SM Event pick lock

Are you sure the SM is set up properly so your quest will be chosen when a lock is picked? I have no experience with it, but it looks pretty tricky to me from the description on the CK wiki. It seems like it would be easy to make a mistake in the setup.

I have no conditions on the nodes and a normal startup quest stage with a debug message box. I have made several other event quests that do work without issues but this one doesn't.

Maybe you can do a quick test yourself. Then we see if it is a bug or I am stupid.

Doing a test would not be quick for me, since I've never set up any quests before, with or without Story Manager. I'd be more likely to make a mistake than you would. :) But my general philosophy is that bugs are much less likely the cause of a problem than mistakes made by the scripter. If a google search isn't turning up any relevant bug reports, it seems safe to rule them out.

I am not sure where the error is. It is the most basic example. :) Just a lockpick event that should start a quest. Quests begins with the startup stage and there is the messagebox.

The lockpick is registered on the miscstats and the miscstats event is working. Just not the SM Event.

Similar to the other way around issue that kill actor is working but miscstat increase on murder is not. Instead the crimegold miscstat is fired.

I can't seem to find a download button on that page that doesn't lead me to an ad trying to make me install some worthless "download manager" that probably includes a heaping helping of adware and other junk. Except for the "free download" button, which insists that I download through a "social network," which I do not have and do not plan to ever have.

After studying some of the quest and SM tutorials on the CK wiki, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to help. It seems a wonder that ANY of that bizarre system works, and I'm not surprised that there are bugs in it. I hope you can find some kind of work around to get your project back on track.
