[SKY] Help with modding Daedric armor

Hope someone knows what's happening here, because I'm at a loss. I'm trying to mod daedric armor, but the daedric glow is giving me fits. It seems to be something in the import/export process but I have no idea what.

To clear out as many variables as possible, I import the vanilla daedric armor into 3dsMax. Then without making any changes whatsoever I export it again.

The "glow" then looks like this

It should look like this

I delete the BSShader from the exported mesh and copy the BSEffectShader from the original armor. I then copy the Alpha property from the original as well.

No change.

I've gone over the settings in the NIFs until my eyes bleed without seeing any difference between the effed up Glow and the correct looking one. Has anyone run into this and knows what I'm doing wrong?
