Now we come to the Reveal. Quite a while back now I practically gave up, the continuing problems involved in this project driving me to stop working on it altogether. The ideas never stopped though, bits and pieces clicking together and falling apart and reforming again and again. A couple months back I transferred all of the old files into an archive folder, cracked open the Construction Set, and began again...from scratch.
Unlike before I chose to keep to the shadows as I worked, showing nothing and speaking of nothing until I had a new base to work atop. The old island has been replaced with a new one, man-made rather then natural. The town has been built atop it over a period of time during which several variations were tried and discarded before I settled on the current and final layout. I have condensed the old ideas down greatly, leaving me with a far smaller area to work with compared to previous versions.
There is still a great deal to be done before I can open the doors to players but it will be completed, since I finally stopped trying to overextend myself and actually thought about what I wanted this mod to be. When I first announced this project a few years ago (hard to believe it's been that long) I made a complete mess of things right out of the gate by being more enthusiastic then skilled. Failures and problems and setbacks sharpened the enthusiasm down into organized determination.
This will not be one of those mods that burns and dies, my newfound organization and skill with the CS have already given me a good solid start which can be seen in the Project Gallery: http://tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/gallery/album/366-museum-of-nirn-project-gallery/
