This series of images are the honeybee skeps I have created for Oblivion. The supporting platform, which is included in the mesh for convenience, is the vineyard table from Bethesda's vanilla resources. The basket-like texture is my own work but was created by heavily modifying a freeware texture from mayang.com, to whom I extend my thanks. The earlier-period ropelike weave texture was created by sampling and heavily modifying a very small section of a published photo.
I keep bees in real life, though modern beekeepers do not use these skep hives any more because they cannot be nondestructively inspected or harvested. The modern square (Langstroth) hive has been used for more than a century.
In the game, I have set these meshes up to be container objects, with a honey ingredient (from COBL) inside. I plan to add a script that will cause a small amount of poison damage to simulate bee stings if you open the container. When I'm done, I'll release the whole thing as a modder's resource. Of course, I have created these for my own use in the upcoming Rathunas town mod.
