I'm diggin this mate! should paint up a quick heightmap for normal conversion and do some work defining work with your specular! you could REALLY make this POP!

Thanks folks. Yup Nekro I haven`t even made a normal map yet...don`t really need a bmp but a specular would be nice...maybe just a pinch of alpha..?

Yeah, mate, just a pinch of spec, tiles tend to be pretty shiny. whereas the grout tends to be (well you know, your a fabricator) dull, Have that reflect in your spec and this baby will shine! And be sure to make a heightmap for the normal filter, running pictures through the filter will only give you surface detail, which is not what normal maps are for

Edit:: As an afterthought, If you make heightmap for some elevation between grout and tile, than run the texture through normal to get surface details, and overlay that on the HM normals, you'll get a better result, as well as using different levels of specularity on the different materials(paints?) in the colored parts of the tile, It will help the piece pop
