Hoobah! Looking a bit better now. I fixed the file to cover the bleed area (I was using the wrong mask in Daniel's sample template) and brushed in some shadows and highlights for the gutter. Changes to the filter settings resulted in a better normal map, though the sheen on the leather may still be a bit much. Still, that shadow-casting light in the entrance to Dragonsreach is pretty strong, so it might be okay.

Thanks. It looks even better than that now, since Hana finally got through my thick skull and made me realize that I really, REALLY needed an alpha channel when generating the normal map. That satiny sheen is history, so it doesn't look so much like it's made of plastic.
