I like the model , But the textures could use some work before you continue to add detail. They're too flat, you need to add depth and "Texture" rather than using single colours.

IS and grond, although I do value your comments, I don't think I'm striving for the same thing you might with this. See the mute textures of Sam's Sword. Something like that or Sting is closer to what I would like to achieve rather than the heavy on scrollwork swords from vanilla Oblivion or the swords that IS and StarX have made.

But there is a fine line between muted and lifeless , I see what you're attempting though the shot you uploaded but a little more texture would not go amiss here , I feel it'll improve the overall look.

And no this has nothing to do with mine and Star's work, it is just my opinion on the WIP here infront of me XD

Hi IS. Although I might not agree, I would like to know what you have in mind when you say "a little more texture". I always want to keep an open mind. BTW, there is some gold texuring on the wood (reminecent of Sting) that I'm presently redoing. I'm planning additional texturing of the base of the blade a little like Hadhafang (Adonnay did an exact copy--even copied the LOTR artwork for the texture, which I will not be doing).

Okay, well let's start with the blade, I love the shape and the lettering work but it seems you have used a single grey colour and then applied the noise filter or something similar to give the bump look to it. I'd apply an actual metal texture to the blade whether it be hand made or partly hand made and a high res image mix. One of the additional steps you could take here is to lighten the area of the texture where the edges of the blade are to help define the edges more.

The grip is fine , a good normal map should bring the wood grain out well, though I see you want a more varnished finish to it.

As for the guard, again the details are good, but the main texture is a single gold colour, here you'd want another metal texture, something that's different to the blade since they would have been made differently.

I can see you want a more "clean" look with little to no wear, so I'll not go over that.

IS, in your last comment you say "grip" twice, but clearly mean two different things. Is the second "grip" actually the guard?
