Hello there TESA. Thanks for taking the time out to read this. I'm doing a mod that changes the inventories of NPCs in Skyrim on a handpicked basis, using new and current materials, to dress the more immersively, based on various factors about the characters. Right now I'm trying to add some leveled lists to some characters, most notably in the Stormcloak Camps, but later on I'll be touching on the Imperial Camps. But the downside to those NPCs is that they are non-respawning, meaning that the engine will never cause them to respawn...which causes another undesirable effect: Since they never respawn, their inventories will never be changed at any point in the game after I first meet them. They become frozen in time essentially.
Since the mod touches on all types of NPCs and will be distributed to other mod users, a problem springs up where I can't actually let people see my changes if they've met those changed NPC's, and thus the immersion factor is lost immediately. It's a really painful thing for me, so I am trying to find some sort of solution (although I dont know what to do to fix it). I tested lowering the cellrespawntime and cellrespawncleared time in the console and waiting a few days, but that had no effect on the game for those npcs. They still refused to use the new weapons. I tried using the console command "resetinventory", and that actually worked! But it only worked on a one NPC to NPC basis, and plus it's not automatic for any of the mod users.
I've tried asking for help through a lot of avenues but I cant really seem to figure out a solution that works properly and I'm pretty much at the end of my rope...I really would like some help with this. I don't know if this can be managed with a script some how, or some kind of ingame command...but I just would like some help...if anyone can help me it'd be extremely appreciated!
Again thanks for taking the time out to read this, and I hope you all have a great day!
