  1. I'm not sure if you got the answers you were looking for yet or not, but just in case... Yes to n°1, it needs to be added. And as for n°2, it's not fixed. Likely never will be, hence the work-arounds found (and shared) by other modders. hehehe! I've learned a couple extra ini tricks over the years, but not entirely sure if they're something they'd want to add to this post or not. However, it may be helpful for most people to know, that adding the line "bAllowMultipleEditors=1" is required to be able to mod both Skyrim and Fallout. I haven't started modding Fallout yet, but in case I do, I wanted to make sure I was ready from the start.
  2. I've learned that TESA [site] doesn't play well with Opera GX... or maybe it's just me?  From the get-go (post site changes in 2021/22) I noticed a new trend forming where I couldn't view any community posted content --- like the forums, tutorials, etc.  Downloads (Attachments) for the most part seemed to work just fine. In the beginning it was suspected that my changes to the background/theme might've been to blame.  However, even after reverting my changes I was still unable to view many pages within the site.  That is... until I tried to visit the site via Chrome instead.  Well, I'll be a ********* it works perfectly!  Here I am a year later, and while for the most part everything seems to be in working order (as I'm using Opera GX right now) I'm left hoping that it doesn't change any time soon...  If anybody has any theories as to why this all happened, I'd love to hear 'em!

After all, they do say that "knowledge is power", and "knowing is half the battle"; so I wonder...since when did I need battle-gear to surf the net?!

  3. ..... Wooo-Saaaaaaaa .....
    .........      ........
    Wooo-Saaaaaaaa!!!

    Warning!
    DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

My Rant About a 1st-Ever (Experienced / Maybe Even Newly Discovered) Skyrim Bug starts ---- NOW:

Ok --- so, "what had happened was" --- Just installed Skyrim for the second time ever on hubby's Xbox to help my team figure out what's happening to our mod (of 3 years hard work) that just popped up suddenly about a month ago --- and I haven't even __STARTED__ the dang-gone game before I ran into problems; without clicking a single download button (after refreshing the mod page accidentally upon installing my first 'n only 3 mods so-far) my queue is frigg'n full?! Don't know how that's a "thing", and when I went to exit to check on my CC content, I didn't get that warning that there were downloads in progress. So, I thought I'd make sure all my CCs were installed 'n not missing any. Well... I'm missing about 3/4 of em --- but 7 of em are installed and ready to play.

W-T-F'n----H is up with this game now?! After just [clean] installing & subsequent auto-started updating --- both finishing up successfully.

I doubt anybody else would have luck such as mine, so it'll likely fix itself or I'll just "chuck it in my fuq-it bucket" and pray to GOD that my Xbox isn't gonna pull this BS when my step-son is done with it.
Can't even say for sure this would be worth pics --- let alone which ones I'd choose to share with all those weird errors 'n crap....

So, you've held on and read my ejected hot air to this point? That's not easy, and since few pay much attention to my conniption-fits, I'll (gladly) owe ya one; a thank you for "hearing me out" [?]
Hence, I'll know who stuck it out if ya need some help with a project; be it research, creating/customizing assets, etc. Hopefully the "tat" I owe from this "***-for" venture won't be one that's monstrously involved by comparison.

If ya couldn't tell... not many people read or respond to --- let alone react to --- anything I post unless it's one of my patented smart@$$ comments; those often at least get some leughts out of people judging from their "reactions".

personally id yell a couple of dozen F-bombs while slamming my fists onto my desk, but hey, everyone got his / her own method of stress-relief :good:

... soooo.... you figured the problem out, or went the orsimer-way and beat the living mudcrab outta the xbox?

    2. PunkN

      PunkN

I wish I could say "yes, I did figure it out" so I could share how to avoid or fix the issue should anyone else experience the same.  I still can't say for sure what caused it, but after re-downloading all the CC content manually, there were no further problems.

The console lived to fight another day... and is still kicking.  I guess it would help to mention that my Xbox One is 2nd Gen (I believe...3rd at most) so she's a rather old girl! But, I refuse to replace my baby until there's no other choice... :teehee:

  4. First my only question is "where's the Papy? I'm not familiar with any scripting languages outside of Skyrim / Papyrus since I'm self (and TESAlliance) taught --- however limited my ability to soak in their info. Second, the script would handle the Chest Containers, Items FormList and Withdraw Global (I'm assuming is what these bottom 3 lines translate to) via Preferences as well as assigning other mentioned Lists/Globals/etc of that nature. I can't speak on behalf of anyone other than my own loud mouth... but Papyrus terms might confuse the smarter ones a lot less which might get you better answers than I could ever hope to provide. Sorry I couldn't help you beyond (honestly-entirely) constructive criticism. If you're anything like me and type faster than my brain can either keep up with or spell, my one greatest suggestion is getting Sublime Text 3 'n setting it up with the necessary plugins available for your individual set-up... best Papyrus-friendly spellcheck I've ever enjoyed using while doing something so "balding".
  5. I don't know about the "onTrigger" details, but I know at least (on a very rudimentary basis) it's possible to do without needing to involve much in the way of scripting... in some ways depending on what exactly you are/are not willing to change with your "pictured ideal" final product that may be able to transcend into "no" scripts at all. But --- again, that depends on the entirety of the details. I'll put together a Walk-Thru to submit to the "higher-up(s)" here on the site 'n with their approval (and pending any additional comments that may be suggested I add/change to it) I'll return here to let you know. The one time I can truly say that being one of the more bothersome co-modders has me in the unusual seat of "lucky" after all's said... since finding this will be easy with my own comment/request for aid being just a couple of posts away from yours. :-)
  6. …. Seemingly doomed to fail by that same "antagonist" dominating this thread's title? So... imagine (as an example) for a moment that I wanted to place a hanging decoration or miscellaneous item in the player home I'm working on that will only activate (& appear to player) after a particular event; greeting an actor, completing a quest, etcetera... And if I had to be more specific, I'd be focusing intensely on the "quest completion" option. I've studied as many vanilla scripts as my poor peepers could handle. After several semi-related videos, and even more articles/pages that were [pointless] less-than relative to my query. I can't even recall any point during my years of sporadic gameplay any examples of this happening within Skyrim. Therefore, here I am. "Calling all cars" like some '40s "5-Oh" chasing a boozehound on a merry-go-round at 60 mph! *Don't attempt to picture that if it sounds like a "new experience" unless migraines are equal to candy to your think-muscles!* All I can say with any amount of certainty (and even for me... it's a LOT of certainty) that the issue with scripting this to work isn't at all an issue with my ST3 or in-CK script editor. I'm able to compile scripts just fine; and my other scripts for the ladder and such worked as expected when I tested last. However... if anyone knows of a way to make a static object appear in a specified location/position upon a particular quest's completion without the use of a script --- which isn't an idea I'd consider entirely impossible --- knowing that this very [same] method was implemented in my mod; particularly on the firepit. It worked perfectly once I made some adjustments to the effects of one of the forms required to pull it off. Turns out, even statics can go flying when there's a big enough "boom" that's close enough to send shockwaves thru an anvil Aka: a piece of crafting furniture that's effectively cemented to the floor & absolutely unmovable. Sure... there are quirks 'n kinks that need to be ironed out when using that method for anything. However, once it's all figured out and smoothed over, it can absolutely help lessen a mods overall size if used appropriately on the fireplaces/pits/etc. But... Punk'n digresses; as I'm sure I won't be so lucky to find such an interactive method of hanging a decoration like this without the use of any scripts. Then again... if I DO so happen to find myself with that much [good] luck, I'll say with all seriousness (and conviction) that "I owe that modder/player one --- big time"! PS: Figured out how to make the interactive fire lighting (without use of scripts) far less dangerous and therefore an awesome trick! The custom [static] containers has a similarly easy to-do list that allows the addition of specified containers --- NOT suitable for tweaking all vanilla containers throughout the world without extensive prep, blood, sweat 'n tears to properly change them all.
  7. Getting that 404 error from the Framework link again... not sure if it's fixable after this long.
  8. Here I have a screenshot that I grabbed while watching a tutorial on YouTube... There are [2] "things" here that I'm totally JELLY that I do not have available in my own editor; several attempts to locate the aforementioned (in-vid) download have ended in failure. I don't even want to THINK about how many [ini] files I've read thru over the last 24 hours! So far, I'm near certain that I've either been (a) unable to locate the line as I'm not sure exactly what it would include to begin with... or (b) attempted to locate this "fix" too late, and it's no longer included with the ini files available to download. Anybody know what lines these beauties would require, and their placement within [ck/ckprefs] the ini? In case it's too small for some to see, here's the 2 features I'm chasing down: [1] Stacked Tabs in Editor Boxes/Dialogs [2] Show..."*"...Only Option
  9. UPDATE: NOVEMBER 21, 2022 (0336) We're making some changes to the mod 'n "quest outline" --- will get back to [post] once I know for sure if (and what) assistance will be needed still. So sorry about this craziness, Punk'n ===== 2♥22 ===== HALL♥WEEN ===== 2♥22 =====
  10.    FINALLY finished Astarea... our [female] Kratos Follower!! She's plagued my days and haunted my every-night over the course of 3 years! But... REJOICE... for now, she's ACTUALLY available; on Xbox One and --- in the care of the team's Co-Fo/member has her covered --- on Nexus. However, I am considering putting her up in here as well. If I do tho, I might see about keeping her files in the BSA-less "Zip" so that fellow members can better tweak her to play nicely with mods she might butt heads with otherwise.      ....I dunno tho.... Any suggestions out there?

I digress. Wait. No I don't...... waahhh... I'm not done!!! Now... if only I could just finish the dang-gum shack so I can move along to my other massive-sized (& massively fun) projects LOL!

PS: Here's her XB1 Page on BethNet... https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4239066

I've been a little busy myself lately, so I've yet to finish the big house mod that goes with the team's follower mods we've made (kind'a hard to describe without including spoilers) up to this point... How about you?  Any new content... or still on hiatus?

  11. The Kratos-Inspired female (SA) follower is near-done!  A few last-minute tweaks, and she'll be available as a marriagable companion for PC & XB1!  A nice little extra for the entire Skyrim world... ALL female underwear will be changed to the new suede look to replace the pee-stained vanillas!

  12. I have questions --- sooooo many questions --- on the topic of "custom voices" [dialogue] for NPCs & player's character as well. Here's a few just spit out from the tippy-top of my "head": ~ What the HECK is a FUZ? Where can I get said-"FUZ" tools, and a miracle that it'll be easy to figure out/learn to use correctly? ~ What's their line... lines... if I were wanting to re-voice the vanilla dialogue for some of the player-follower interaction lines. ~ If I wanted to take some recorded "WAV" files and alter the pitch/tone of the voice, which (free) tools would be easiest for making such adjustments? PS- I'm without a bit of know-how when it comes to all those sliders 'n knobs I've seen on some tools before! ~ What the fudge am I getting myself into now; Kratos' mods are haunting me apparently. With that last question (which I'm sure nobody will ever have the answer for) gives away the voice I'm hoping to capture and bring to the mod(s) to set our Kratos/Kratas apart from the knock-offs/others that are available. This is also assuming one of the authors from aforementioned "others" doesn't see/hear about this plan 'n beat me to it.... But --- I digress --- I'm sure I've got the CK portion pretty much figured out from the various forums & videos online. It's really everything else up to that point that I'm in the dark about. I'll greatly appreciate whatever info regarding this topic that's available; even if it may come with an asterisk/heads up! Any-n-all related miscellaneous info or unconventional little tips/tricks that may help me with this endeavor are equally appreciated!
  13. FINALLY we wrapped up the Kratos/GoW playable race mod!  Right now, it's available exclusively for XB1.  However, I was considering making it available for PC...but only thru TESA.  Thoughts?

  14. By the way my apologies for the extreme delay between our comments... I don't get notifications for some reason from this site or Nexus
  15. Holy-Moly-Oly are you serious?! Ha! Small world, eh? It turned out to be a "Doh!" moment on my behalf... in a way. At that time the CK had actually updated (wow... I know) and since I have an older machine, I turn off auto-updates for any non-essentials and just check em all for updates on the first Wednesday of every-other month; some every couple of months depending on how often their "history" tells me to expect updates. Since I know the CK is close to never in the update frequency department, I didn't even think to check to see if that was the problem... and it was. I think MorganHellsing said that it was Enai that spread the word to the community to update their CK if they notice the issue happening to them. I'm now re-setting up the CK since my System Restore (gone wrong) and the OS Refresh that fixed it all again lol Anybody want to trade brains and hair? It may be grey, but there's plenty of it no matter how much is ripped out or falls out from stress. LMAO
  16. I'm no veteran myself when it comes to the art that is mod-creation. lol! However, as each day passes, I feel more and more confident in my abilities, so that helps. It'll definitely be a big "to-do" when it's ready. However, if we're lucky, we may just be able to post it for a similar holiday in January, which wouldn't be too bad of an idea; since the holiday is Scandinavian (and such) sporting it's own holiday tune that sounds to me as if it's kids saying "Give me Sweetrolls or pay the price!" Hahahaha! That being said, there's no guarantee it'll be remotely NEAR completion by the end of January, so check in with me whenever... we have jobs for every skill at every level. lol
  17. I've been getting a few messages now that the massive Halloween Overhaul Project post is up (on my 2 favorite forums/community sites) since I've made changes to the "release date" --- extending it to 2020 at the latest --- I've been receiving even more!  Ask as many questions as you need to if interested, but, please don't jump to join in our shenanigans if you don't think you'll be able to complete whichever portion of the project "you initially take on"....  I honestly don't feel that the word "massive" is adequately describing just how large this undertaking is.  While we want to have fun with it first-and-foremost, we do want to see all of our hard work enjoyed to its' fullest and appreciated by all who love this holiday as much as we do!  It's because of our dedication to the project that I've decided to NOT answer the one question I've received the most... "Who all is participating?"  While I'm sure that most of the time that question is asked for good reason, I can't help but get this feeling that it's asked (sometimes) for more "cliquey" reasons.  Who's participating isn't as important as what we're accomplishing.  If [THEY] want to announce their involvement, that is entirely up to each individual.  However, due to the outrageous amount of "can you add"s or "you guys should do"s, that are surely headed our way, don't be surprised if most of this funky holiday-grown fam of freaky modders stays largely hidden until it's release.

For the record... the questions I've been getting have not been through TESA... so no worries.  I just figured I'd post this as I did on the other forum for good measure.  In a couple of weeks, I'll post a list of "help wanted" areas for anyone looking to waste some time or just have some fun!

  18. I'd LOVE to learn scripting well enough to make any of my mashups or "in-house forms" all-the-more amazeballz! There's SOOOO much I want to do that I just can't without proper scripts... 'n it stinks (if I do say so, myself) knowing the potential but being unable to make it come to fruition. I just hope when the time comes that I can learn it, that I'll pick it up as easily and quickly as I've been able to in other 'departments' lol Hopefully my bad@$$ --- 114 wpm --- High-School typing skills (thank you Mr. Graizer) will give me somewhat of an edge; although I'm doubtful. It doesn't seem to me that it's a requirement to type everything out in a predetermined amount of time...or else EPIC fail HAHAHA Sorry... soooo tired and brain-fried! And, I still haven't figured out this activator thing that Eli and DF can seem to do with ease as can everyone else...but 'lil-ole-me.
  19. The idea of "hope" where Halloween is concerned has been grossly altered throughout the years... I guess I should've specified that to begin with. LOL As it's going now, it's not seeming very likely that the project would get done in time no matter how many people I managed to get in on the fun within the next few days... It may be best to get it put together for next year and REALLY make it something to talk about!
  20. As of today, October 16, 2019... it's been decided that the best course of action would be to postpone the release date to Halloween 2020, therefore nothing awesome would have to be left out from the finished product, therefore leaving it possible for a smaller team to complete over a less stress-inducing amount of time --- a matter of months as opposed to a matter of weeks, or even days! But... onto the original post... The time has finally come! I've been planning this massively spooky & festive overhaul for over 14 months: and now, all the ducks are in a row --- ready to be put into a mod unlike any other! I've collected more than a few open resources, some pretty-darn awesome (as well as rare) permissions from some modders who love the holiday as much as I; in addition to creating my own pieces/parts. Still, this is just such a big project with still much to be created and done that I doubt I'll be able to complete the project in it's entirety before Oct. 24th! I just can't bring myself to publish a half-finished or dirty mod... so the success of the project is riding on the shoulders of hope. Which --- is pretty crazy seeing that Halloween is all about everything opposite of "hope" Anyone interested in joining in on the fun, I ask to e-mail me (so that I'm notified immediately) @punkinoakley@gmail.com To give [ya'll] an idea of what is "in the plans"... *Scattered statics throughout Skyrim and Solstheim in specific locations (to assure as few mod conflicts as possible) *Retextured NPC(s) --- including a couple vanilla followers and even adding a new retextured mount *(3) specific Mihail Monsters --- which need to be placed in specific locations as agreed upon with him to prevent monster-overkill... I already have the needed assets for the 3 (and 2 "j.i.c." monsters in the event that one of the 1st choices can't work out as well as planned) *A Playable Race .... which I've NEVER found --- at least on Xbox or during recent PC searches --- to be created before.... So... BONUS! lol! *Custom Audio/Music *SOOOOOO much more.... Don't hesitate to contact me at any time... day or night! I'm working on this as much as humanly possible without risking brain functionality due to lack of sleep... So if I don't respond immediately --- I finally laid down for a nap! HA! HAPPY HALLOWEEN YA'LL!!!!
  21. I was attempting Eli's method (it's in one of her YouTube tutorials) because it just seemed so much easier and faster than creating Mashups in Nifskope... Plus every now and then, I'll spend HOURS on creating just one Static, only to find that it won't show up in the CK at all; it just doesn't care for any of my shenanigans I guess. So far, only one of my mashup containers continues to give me grief, which I just created a new one, because I can't really use it as an armor wardrobe if it goes all "Pinball Wizard" on me whenever I bump it. Other than that, I retextured a absolutely gorgeous bathtub in Nifskope which was anything but a "quick job"... but it wouldn't show up in the CK, and every time I tried dropping it into the RW it would either do nothing at all, freeze or crash the editor. There weren't any scripts at all attached to it. No additional anything, really. The drama kicked off full-steam the moment I clicked Open when I chose the file to add to my Statics.
  22. I just had a thought... is it possible that when the CK packs files and tries to include "barreddoor" and "hardworker" scripts (I'm not looking at them directly right now, so I'm not exactly sure how they're spelled at the moment) that the scripts that seemingly have nothing to do with my activators/weapon plaques are breaking these triggers due to me removing them from the archive? I was always under the impression that the little vanilla things that sneak their way into the archive are safe to remove before uploading the plugin.
  23. I wish I could be of more help...but all I can offer is help with adding custom music or creating a playable race (those are the only two things outside of retexturing in Nifskope that I can do with ease at this point) so let me know if I can be of any help at all.
  24. I'm attempting to create some custom containers using the combo of static objects with a new trigger/activator using the methods seen in many YouTube tutorials (Elianora's would be a great example) and tho I've followed the instructions to a "t", they simply will not work in-game! In addition, the white activators for my weapon plaques are showing even tho the plaques do work. The white marker will disappear the moment I place a weapon; only to reappear as soon as I remove it. I FINALLY got my bookshelves working, but am now faced with this "poop"! I'm stumped and apparently missing something --- or rather, overlooking something that shouldn't be there...or isn't there to begin with? I don't even know where to start in the way of posting screenshots. I took short video clips of this weirdness happening with the weapon plaques, but I'm unsure how to share those. So, for now, I guess I'll include the steps I took in hopes that someone has a better eye than I do... because I'm just not seeing the issue no matter how clearly the issue can be seen itself. 1st) I created my "container" using static items (i.e.: soulgems in a common crate...all statics for sure) 2nd) I selected all the items that I meant to be included in this custom container and clicked on the "Trigger" button [T in the square] and selected "defaultblanktrigger" from the box --- I assigned it a unique ID 3rd) brought up the Trigger's Ref. Dialogue box and first went to tab --- "3D Data" to make sure that the annals were anything but "0" or "90" --- under "Primitive" Tab checked the flag for "Player Activation" --- lastly under "Scripts" I searched and selected "ActivateLinkedChestDummyScript" --- then clicked "OK" 4th) I located a satchel/barrel (I tried both for different "containers") and assigned them their unique/descriptive IDs once I dropped them into the render window. From there I double-clicked the container, emptied all the auto-contents and made sure that the respawn flag was unchecked. 5th) Then I returned to the trigger and double-clicked it, went to tab --- "Linked Refs" to create a "new" link and selected the container. Of course, clicking "OK" when done. Those are the exact steps that I took to create these custom containers, yet they do not work at all. There's not even so much as a hint (like I see with the weapon plaques) that there's supposed to be a container/activator/ANYTHING there... it just shows my static objects. Is there something I'm missing that maybe I didn't catch from the videos? Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated!
  25. I do have SSE installed on my laptop... I got the game from Steam --- not sure if that's what was meant by the SSE/Steam Workshop mention. I've given up on trying to figure out that darn launcher & missing "data files" target. I'm finally able to start work on the computer I'm building now that we're back home. Once it's finished & up-n-running, I'll be able to uninstall everything from the laptop and reinstall. I'm sure I fudged something up somewhere along the line. That's usually how it goes; anyhow. lol
