Donnato, you've just blown my mind!
  2. Hello Teacher! Here are my screenshots for... The Main Class The Homework The Extra Credit
  3. Hi Maddox, a very warm welcome to TESA!
  4. No Starting Spells In a game like Skyrim, I don't like it when decisions are made for me about the sort of character I'm playing. In this instance, I don't really play spell caster type characters, so it's a source of minor irritation that every time I start the game I can shoot fire from my hands and heal mortal wounds with a click of my fingers. This mod removes the spells Healing and Flames from the Player and adds copies of their respective Spell Tomes to the body of the mage in the torturer's chamber. This will only affect new characters. Download: TESA | eloquate.net New Modders tip: If you wanted to change the starting spells or add a whole heap more to starting player, you need to right-click and edit the Player under Actors in the Creation Kit. Select SpellList from the tab along the top of the edit window. Right click in the list of Spells and select New to pick spells. Careful though, this is a list of all the spells in the game, not just those useable by the player so try and have a firm idea of what you want to do before you start. If it all goes horrendously wrong, just delete your plugin and start again. Enjoy!

*This mod has now been updated for Skyrim v1.6.* This mod removes the spells Healing and Flames from the Player. This will only affect new characters. In a game like Skyrim, I don't like it when decisions are made for me about the sort of character I'm playing. In this instance, I don't really play spell caster type characters, so it's a source of minor irritation that every time I start the game I can shoot fire from my hands and heal mortal wounds with a click of my fingers.
  6. Hello there, thank you kindly for the warm welcome and the pastries. Mmm ... Pastries.

  7. Hi, Does anyone know from previous games, whether it is possible to have fall damage ignore the damage resistance provided by armour? Preferably I'd like to go a step further and increase the fall damage by a percentage of encumbrance. Many thanks.
  8. Heh, my area is no stranger to the The Hum. _echo, those links are pretty creepy but they also made me think of
  9. The problem with the New Vegas GECK is that it doesn't report errors in scripts... and if there is an error in your script it won't save it. I personally use this mod, GECK PowerUp, to enable error reporting. Either way, the steps I've followed to achieve the quest script (by much trial-and-error I must admit!) are as follow: 1 - Create the new Global variable. If you write your script before the variable it references is created, it will fail validation and not save. Unlike other objects a new Global variable cannot be created by right clicking in the object window. You need to go to Gameplay at the top of the GECK window, then Globals..., then you can right-click and select New as normal. I used the formID PerkAddItemRand. Then make sure the type checked is Short and the value is 0. 2 - Write the Quest script I then added a stage 115 to the Generic quest and added an EMPTY Log Entry. In the Result Script box I added the following: ; Set flag to add random items to player as per perk set perkAddItemRand to 1 I missed the 'to' from my initial script which would also cause it to break. Hit Compile Result and then Ok at the bottom of the window. That should do the trick!
  10. Hi, Unfortunately I haven't got quite as much time to explore this as I would like but in brief I would use perks Tag or Animal Friend as a base. Rather than adding a value to the player they are used to set the stage on a quest (the quest Generic) with an associated script. The way I would go about your request would be to either add a new quest or add a new stage to the Generic quest for your perk. The attached script would set a new Global variable to true i.e. set perkAddItemRand 1 Then set up a new miscellaneous script which checks for this global variable. The script would then run a timer (see these tutorials by Cipscis for more on intro scripting including timers). For the random item I would set up a new Form List containing your items or refer to an existing one. I hope that there's enough here to point you in the right direction, best of luck!
  11. The trailers are great, Cliffworms! Since finishing my first playthrough I have played with the music turned off and the thought of all this extra ambient sound makes me a little weak at the knees. Best of luck with the rest of the project.
  12. Okay, thank you. Then to rephrase my question: who are the Order of The Scroll? Is it a group attached to THE Elder Scrolls? Or is Scroll just a descriptive term? To me, a scroll is very academic symbol. Knowledge, learning, and communication. I imagine old libraries, scholars and academics, broadsheets or secret missives, couriers, spies, and storytellers! Is this a group from the Third Age or a new group looking back to the mysteries of the past? Are they fresh-faced archeologists digging up the past, ancient custodians protecting what has long been theirs or even a conflicted group containing both? What sort of lore is important to them? Magicka, history, politics, religion? What do they do with what they own and what are their goals? Are they passive or active within the world? Do they have a historical tie to a particular group, nation or faction? Do they operate in secret* or are they a common fire-side story? *My preference would be an open and rather jolly group! Skyrim is already full of grim clandestine factions i.e: The Blades, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood...
  13. This might sound an ignorant question, but, what exactly is The Order of The Scroll? Is this something completely new you came up with during the shout conversation or is this something from a previous Elder Scrolls?
  14. If you're only looking to quickly convert from .bmp to .jpg I would use IrfanView. Photoshop might be overkill if you don't own a license. Good luck!
  15. Welcome to the alliance, Porscha.
  16. Does anyone know whether it is possible for the game to temporarily assume control of a Player Character? I'd like to add some of the Illusion type shouts (Fear, Frenzy, etc) to Dragons and was curious as to whether they could affect the PC? Many thanks.
  17. I also wonder whether it might be possible to finish the Thieves Guild without selling your soul to Nocturnal. My pickpocket was rather sceptical of the whole deal from the start. Perhaps, you could include it as an alternative reward to the quest for Hircine, Ill Met By Moonlight?
  18. eloquate's Game Setting Tweaks v0.000 ... 01 I've been playing with the alpha version of SkyEdit the last few evenings and have put together a small compilation [WIP] of Global and Game Setting Tweaks. It is not my intention for this to be an overhaul project, rather, a collection of minor tweaks to use alongside other projects like Duke Patrick's Combat Tweaks or Pluto's Improved Skyrim Experience. Currently this mod does the following: Slower TimeScale Halves the rate at which time passes. Lots more time to enjoy those warm sunsets. Disable the Kill Camera Disables the "finisher" moves when you kill an opponent. Greater Falling Damage Halves the distance which a player can fall before taking damage. The safe fall distance and fall damage multiplier for NPC's have also been adjusted to match those for a PC. I have tested this tweak during the opening sequence at Helgen to ensure the player can survive the leap from the tower to the Inn (with around 50%+ health), though if others can test this and confirm I've not broken the game I would be very grateful. I'd also like to hear of any potential problem spots where you have to make a sizeable leap. The archive download contains two directories: one containing all the tweaks in a single plugin, and a second containing each tweak in a separate plugin file with an accompanying text file. The text files contain details about the various setting in each plugin file and short tutorials on adjusting them further in SkyEdit. Obviously SkyEdit is still in early development and the Creation Kit is nigh on the horizon so my tutorials may not always be up to date with the available tools despite my best intentions. Even so, I hope someone might find them useful. A further note, more seasoned modders may notice that the seperated plugins contain "dirty" edits. These are variables directly related to those in the plugin and are included for the purposes of those using the tutorials. The compilation plugin contains no dirty edits. Download: eloquate_game_setting_tweaks_v0.01.7z Merry Christmas!
  19. I would have liked the option to tell Brother Verulus, the Priest of Arkay, about Eola immediately after the encounter in the Hall of the Dead. I could see this easily expanding into a request to confront Eola at Reachcliff Cave, or even investigating the other members of Namira's cult, but such would go far beyond a simple 'Derailed' solution. Edit: spelling correction.

    The Dragon

That's an epic screenshot. It puts me in the mind of the cover art for vintage fantasy novels. You've got some really cool action shots in your gallery but this one really takes the biscuit.

Wow guys, thank you for the warm welcome. I'm kind of glad there's a cookie thief in this thread: If I were to eat all these cookies I would surely make myself most unwell!
