  1. Last night a great tragedy struck the Museum. Working long hours to catalog supplies and artifacts the scribes brought in torches to improve the lights during the night. The open flames sparked a fire that has consumed the entirety of the records room and every scrap of paper contained within. All of the scribes survived and escaped with only minor burns from trying to fight the flames to save the records. And thanks to the quick action of several frost and fire mages the rest of the building was saved from the fire, countless artifacts and irreplaceable books saved from being destroyed and lost forever. The loss of the records is a major setback however and with the date of the Grand Opening looming ever closer the Head Curator has decided that sacrifices must be made. The scribes will return to work as soon as the builder mages finish rebuilding the records room but they will focus on quickly rebuilding the Museum's extensive files with great sacrifices in organization. (Even the disasters can make for decent updates it seems. This is true though, with the attempts to make Nifskope see my files having failed the only remaining choice is to toss organization to the wind and treat things as I would a normal mod, just toss them into the normal texture folder where they can be found. Though fortunately the meshes don't have to be found so I can at least organize that side of things. Still annoying but what can you do, these things happen...)
  2. That...did not help one bit My texture file is in the list but Nifskope still treats every non-vanilla texture as not being there. This officially sucks...
  3. Thanks IS, thought I'd seen that somewhere. Got my museum texture folder on the list now so maybe that will help speed things up. Still take some time to reorder things but could be worse I suppose.
  4. ...and chaos reigns once more within my sort of museum. All the resources have managed to completely destroy my attempts to keep things neat in the files. Barely know where anything is anymore. Is there some way to tell Nifskope to automatically look at places that aren't BSA files that I'm missing? Never going to come close to reaching the grand opening at this rate...

    GreenMage

Nice warm looking mage robe there
  6. I imagine it comes from Skyrim (the province), all those kids they apparently have over there have to do something with all that snow after all
  7. Had some really cool resources I've added today, including several new creatures: the Order Atronach, Elite Knight of Order, Living Snowman and Tattooed Flesh Atronachs.
  8. Yagrum Bagarn probably knows, someone should ask him
  9. Well we do have more then one crew silly, this Museum is far too big to operate with just one crew
  10. A piece of Cyrodiil's lost history has been uncovered today. With rumor spreading that the town of Sutch was going to be rebuilt on it's former site the Head Curator decided that an expedition should be sent to conduct an excavation to recover any artifacts of the old city that may have been hidden through the years. After several days of finding nothing but dirt and bugs the remains of a building foundation were uncovered. This discovery was interesting enough but the discovery of the secret basement beneath it was even more so. After the locks were opened our people entered and found themselves surrounded by treasures. statues and jewelry of gold and gems, chests of gold coins, and more. Theories have been flying around the camp as the treasure is brought up. The most likely is that the trove belonged to one of the Sutch crime lords and was forgotten after they were rounded up and executed by Uriel Vi's soldiers. Among all the gold and gemstones were other items as well, including robes worn by the priests of Kynareth, an intact suit of the armor worn by the old Sutch guardsmen and a suit of ceremonial armor likely stolen from one of the nobles of Sutch. Soon the last remnants of Sutch will be safely within the Museum's vaults. (Did not actually plan a Sutch related thing, but there were some Sutch related pieces in one of the resource packs I got off the Nexus so I ran with it )
  11. Um...that Orc seems to be very unorchish...
  12. A party of treasure hunters arrived on the island today, bringing a tale of their exploration of the Daedric Shrine of Anudnabia and the battlefield they found there. The only clue about who attacked the shrine was the shield of a Telvanni guard, apparently forgotten in the shadows when the guards left. As far as the treasure hunters could tell Telvanni sent it's men in to clear a group of Daedra Worshipers out. Having heard from one of our representatives in Sadrith Mora that the Museum would buy potential relics and rare objects they gathered up anything that might have been valuable and brought it back to town and our man, who sent them on to the Island, evidently finding their treasure worth a further look. And what a treasure it was...several pieces of broken armor that could be salvaged by our smiths, a few spell tomes from the cultists, the Telvanni shield...and a half dozen books they pulled out of a fire. Though most of the pages were burned, likely by the Telvanni the some parts were still legible and the covers still showed some of their original color, a black darker then anything seen before. After several hours of careful study our Daedric experts revealed that these were the remains of Black Books, tomes of knowledge from the dark libraries of Apocrypha, realm of Hermaeus Mora. The surviving passages were copied down for placement on the shelves of the Library's Restricted Section, the burned books themselves placed under lock and key in the Vaults until the Hall of Princes is ready. (Another interesting piece of Tamriel is added to the Museum's collection )
  13. ...Somehow I never even thought about a History of the Museum display Good idea Lilith
  14. While excavating an ancient Nordic tomb recently discovered deep in the Jerall Mountains our team broke through into an even more ancient tomb. Studying the engravings that covered the walls and with the aid of Nordic experts the tomb's long dead inhabitants were revealed to be Tongues, ancient masters of the Skyrim magic known as The Voice or Thu'um. Further searching revealed that this small group of Nords were once a group calling themselves the Riders of Akatosh. Mounted on the smaller, less powerful dragons that had survived the Dragon War the Riders served as defenders of Skyrim during the Skyrim Conquests of 1E 240. While the Nord armies fought in other lands this small group had used Thu'um, dragon and weapon to defeat all who threatened their people. Delving still deeper into the tomb our team found the main chamber, where the skeletons of the Rider's mounts lay beside those of the Rider's. Relics were everywhere but what drew the interest of the people first was the finely crafted armors lining the far wall, obviously crafted for the dragon mounts. The leader of the expedition, Tymvir Andrelhe sent word back to the Museum of the discovery as well as requesting more men to help bring the artifacts back. (Yes, I did just create a small faction based off of a mod and work it into the lore of Nirn. )
  15. Work on the Museum continues as wagons loaded down with stone, wood and tools travel the road between the Port and the Museum. With so many highly skilled building crews new structures are constantly rising towards the sky. More of the staff have also arrived from Tamriel, experts on pretty much every subject. Small shipments have also begun to arrive from the Imperial City, bearing crates of artifacts and treasures that must be cataloged before going into their halls. There are also rumors circulating that among the cargo of one of the ships was a chest, sealed by several locks and bearing the symbol of moon and star...Though the chest was taken directly to the Head Curator the rumors say that the Nerevarine has made a donation to the Museum, although even the gossipers can not begin to imagine what it could be...
  16. They haven't tried yet but I wouldn't put it past them...though I don't know if they could smuggle a tree onto the island
  17. Well they do seem to be the ones who make it and there is that whole 'religious experience for them since it is a gift from the gods' thing to.
  18. Another block of buildings was completed today and the mages continue to work their magics to create interiors for them. The first group of guards also arrived today, including a number of mage guards. And in a tale that had everyone in the Nexus laughing they made their first arrest when they were only partway across the ocean. It seems a pair of Khajiit had ideas about starting a skooma den on the island but they made the huge mistake of stowing away on a boat full of soldiers and mages. The pair are now enjoying the cells beneath the Security HQ while they await shipment back to the Imperial City. (Seriously, I love doing these little in-character bits. I actually ended up on the skooma lore page while wandering the wiki earlier and discovered that there is a den in Bravil...somehow I missed that...everytime I've gone to Bravil. Seemed possible that someone might try to bring the vile stuff to my island.)
  19. Yeah, I doubt it was pretty...
  20. Construction of the Museum is proceeding well, more buildings are put up every day and the mages have been working their magics on them. Members of the non-building staff have begun to trickle in as well, bringing their equipment and setting up their work spaces. The Altmer who runs the newly opened Nexus Tavern, Erissa Estirdar has had her brewers hard at work creating new drinks and doing their best to recreate those that have come through the Nexus. So far she has met with great success although two of the builders had to be taken to the infirmary after a mishap with a barrel of Golden Scythe...this is probably why the recipe warned that serving size was by the drop. (I do so enjoy these in character style updates )
  21. That works Lilith, in a month's time I'll probably be around the point of needing interior and exterior decorators to furnish, decorate and clutter the many, many rooms and outdoor areas
  22. Did you really think I'd just give people a room full of powerful artifacts and assume they wouldn't take everything not nailed down? Silly IS
