  1. First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gekHV9DIjHc Lyrics:
  2. This thread has been sleeping too long. We've had three episodes with Peter Capaldi so what are your general thoughts on this regeneration? I for one am enjoying Doctor Who again after going off it during Matt Smith's tenure. I'm very pleased that they have brought back an older actor to play the role - it's hard to believe that Peter is the same age that William Hartnell was when he first started. I'm actually looking forward to the next episode. Thoughts?
  3. Ever wonder what Epica (Symphonic Metal band) would sound like if it was cut back to the barest bones? Epica - Dreamscape (Live Acoustic Version - Pinkpop 2014) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b9q8ybwKNU
  4. There should be a few solid album releases this year, fingers crossed. Here's a song from one of them - Delain with their own brand of Pop Metal. Delain - Your Body is a Battleground (Official Lyric Video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKZgAVygp9A And since no-one has posted anything in this thread since my last post (above) I'm editing it to add in this second lyric video from the forthcoming new Epica album. It's one of their heavier sounding songs with quite a few growls - you have been warned. I'm not a fan of growls in general, but I can put up with some. Epica - The Essence Of Silence (Official Lyric Video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oePrtEMmX9Y
  5. And now for something a little less mainstream... some Pagan Metal from Russia. Arkona - Liki Bessmertnykh Bogov http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgXlUxDGFvU
  6. Sorry for posting another Within Temptation song again so soon, but I really like the effort some fans put into their videos to showcase a song they like. I used to love Within Temptation (my favourite album of theirs was The Silent Force) but I would be lying if I said that I'm loving their genre move into Pop Metal/Pop Rock. They still come out with the odd little gem, but overall it's all much of a muchness to me. Anyway, I enjoyed this video (the song is okay) and wanted to share this on the eve on the new album being released. Within Temptation - Let Us Burn [Demo Version] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28IcpDypsxk
  7. The single from the last album by Blackmore's Night (2013). I don't like Candice's choice of dress or the boy's hats & sunnies in the video, but the upbeat folk pop music outweighs that. Blackmore's Night - Dancer and the Moon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTdSm4Rn1XA
  8. Happy New Year, folks! Here's my first offering for 2014 - the debut single from Demist, a Symphonic Metal band from Belgrade, Serbia. Not a bad effort for a debut song. Demist - Faith Remains http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lms0y6m-Q1g Lyrics:
  9. The latest single from the third Sleepthief album. It features Joanna Stevens (Solar Twins, Delerium) who is an old favourite vocalist of mine. She's getting older (aren't we all) but proves that she still has it in this track. I haven't quite worked out the message in this song, but it's catchy electronic pop so who really cares. Sleepthief - This Means War (feat. Joanna Stevens) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_TCi-b6pPI
  10. Sarah Slean - Society Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7p0TQeRTw4
  11. I haven't seen any great music videos in my own wanderings of late, so here's my favourite track from the last album (2012) by German Folk Metal band Lyriel followed by one music video they did for that album. Lyriel - Repentance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HPFyfpEJEk Lyriel - Wenn Die Engel Fallen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rabXohC-jDQ I've posted the translated lyrics of this second song in the spoiler box below.
  12. Indeed - thanks for posting that little gem! And what? No-one has posted a single Eurovision song? Sometimes some light 'n fluffy pop is just what the doctor ordered. Here's my favourite song from this year's Eurovision. Margaret Berger - I Feed You My Love
  13. I recently came across one of my old favourite Nick Cave songs on YouTube and wanted to share it with you. It never had a video clip made for it, but someone has put together a nice slideshow for the song that fits it nicely IMO. The song originally came out in 1992. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Loom of the Land http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zpggRaUbX0
  14. Two songs from Dutch symphonic metal band Delain (the band was formed by former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt in 2002). First, the second single off their latest album (2012) and then an older fave of mine from 2006. Delain - We Are The Others Delain - See me in Shadow
  15. Two more Epica songs. Sorry for the Epica overload, but I didn't see any of their songs in this or the previous music video thread. First, one of their older songs which also happens to be a favourite of mine, and the second is their first single from their latest (2012) album (warning: there are some male growls in this one - albeit fleeting). Epica - Solitary Ground Epica - Storm The Sorrow
  16. I had been thinking of editing some of the shouts for my own game, but methinks I'll try your mod instead. Thanks for sharing it with us! BTW, the Nexus download link in your first post needs a slight edit as it is the link to edit the mod properties rather than just being a link to the mod.
  17. Haha... "daft curly-haired yobbo" indeed he was, but lovable as well. I remember my shock and dismay when Tom Baker first appeared, but like so many others I grew to love him over time. Plus he had most of my favourite assistants/companions during his time. I never warmed to Peter Davison either, but it was Colin Baker who really killed it for me. Sylvester McCoy was slightly better, IMO, but I'd become only an occasional watcher of Doctor Who by then so didn't see too many of the Sylvester McCoy storylines. I must admit that I did enjoy David Tennant in the role, though. Not all the time, but on the whole I did. A pity he was given a stupid drawn out death, though.
  18. Another 2006 song... this time by Blackmore's Night (formed by Ritchie Blackmore - ex member of Deep Purple and Rainbow - and his wife Candice Night). This isn't an official video for the song, but rather one made by a small small video production company from the Netherlands for a competition in 2009. Blackmore's Night - World of Stone
  19. Methinks I'll give the new season a go, but I must admit that I'm not a fan of Matt Smith as the Doctor. I've tried to like him in the role, but can't get there. There have been some really good episodes, but they are too few and far between and the bad ones are usually really bad. I tend to lose interest in watching after a while, which is sad really. And just so you guys know, I grew up with Dr. Who (Jon Pertwee was the first doctor I saw on TV). I lost interest after Peter Davison finished his stint, though, until it was rebooted with Christopher Eccleston. Saw the movie too, but I don't count that.
  20. Another video from the mid-naughties. Not my favourite Globus song, but they don't have many clips for their songs. Globus - Prelude (On Earth as In Heaven)
  21. Not a music video per se, but rather a 15 minute video taken from an acoustic recording session by one of my favourite Symphonic Metal bands, Epica. The session was released in their 2004 "We Will Take You With Us" EP and includes three acoustic versions of the songs Feint, Run for a Fall, and Memory (cover of the song from the musical "Cats").
  22. Thankyou all for the warm welcome... and cookies.
  23. I love this thread! Some of the music/bands posted here are also faves of mine. I'm a fan of female fronted metal in general but I also like some quieter songs and artists to balance things out. Alas most of my current favourite songs that can be found on YouTube don't have very exciting video clips to go with them, so here's an older fave of mine from 3 or so years ago. Sleepthief (feat. Jody Quine) - Tenuous
  24. There are some interesting names and stories behind them in this thread. My name was one I chose for myself when I first jumped online in 1992 and have been using ever since. Although it has become more popular in the last 12 years or so and occasionally I find that it has already been taken. Then I usually just add an AU to the end since I'm from Australia. My forum name is the name of an angel that I identified with at the time and so I took the name for my own. Seraphiel is an angel of love, light, and fire. He is one of the four judgement throne angels and is said to literally be a living flame, but one who radiates love instead of a burning heat. I guess I can still identify with him so I continue to use the name.
  25. Seraphiel

    G'day

G'day everyone. It has been a few years since I joined a new forum so I'm a bit rusty with introducing myself. I guess I'm an older fan of the TES series in that I started out with Arena back in 1994 when it first came out. Although I missed Morrowind when it came out due to real life/death stuff going on at the time. I caught up with Morrowind later on. I've been modding/tweaking games for my own enjoyment for a very long time, though. Since the days of me modding games on my old VZ-200 basic computer (with 24kb RAM and a tape drive) in the 80s. Oh how times have changed. Until this year I had never shared any of my own mods with anyone, but in December last year a friend begged me to release my English language ("British" english as opposed to "American" english) mod for Skyrim that I'd been working on and since it was strings based (for the first time on a TES game) I agreed. So in January this year I released what I call "English Strings for Skyrim", which is that language mod. One of the first things I do with any game I love is to change the in-game english to something more familiar and, for me, more immersive as a result. I'm a bit of a lurker so you may not see posting much, but with luck I will be here on TES Alliance for a while to come.
