  1. I don't want to reveal anything major, but the next mod I'm making has a necessity for places in Oblivion that are "Happy Memories" and places that are "Bad Memories". So, my question is where in Oblivion were the funnest and happiest things for you and where were the most annoying and scary things (Not including bugs).
  2. Heh got it now. I had it so that it started with MY folder in the textures folder instead of searching for Textures first. Thanks for the help.
  3. Textures are definitely there, but what do you mean by dynamically pathed?
  4. I just got an armor for my enemy for the mod I'm working on but for some reason its just not working. I use NIFSkope and put the file paths in for every part of it but when I equip it on my guy, the feet are neon purple and most of his body is invisible. What could I be doing wrong?
  5. I can say that's not a common error. I've had people complete it on other computers. Try it again and see if the problem persists.
  6. Boss Fight 3 - The Dismal Thicket This one is a lot more open and probably the best one I've made so far! Check it out! Download here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39191
  7. With completely open there will be clues and things that hint where to go, BUT I won't force you to go in that direction.
  8. Yeah I have a few goals for this next one: 1) Increase frame rate -> Smaller File Size 2) More storytelling without actual dialogue (Environmental Storytelling) 3) Better basic enemies (So far they have been really bland) 4) Better optional bosses (Last one was super basic. Just a hack and slasher. It was done last minute). 5) Better mood (More use of colors and shaders to make you feel a certain way) 6) More Open (After the initial tutorial I'm going to completely release the grip on the player. No time limits, no direction. Just go.) This next one is going to be much scarier. It's not just a BOO I scared you mod, more the mood will be scary and omnis. Hopefully I can achieve that. =D
  9. Dodging battles have actually being going very well for me. I've done it a few times. There was one where I had fireballs shooting in multiple directions as you fought the final boss. It's one of my favorite boss battles. Very easy to hook up too. I might make it again for some Boss Fight. As for Sniper, it's untested for me. I did find that slowing down the speed of the arrow is cool along with the drawing time. If the arrow is slow enough, you can grab it mid air! I was considering something like that (A special ability that does that) For scaling, I found very scaled up creatures only work in giant environments. Really really open without trees and stuff. Once stuff gets in the way, it starts being buggy. If the environment matches the scale, it works great. EDIT: What I'm planning to do for this next boss fight is to have the main story bosses be scaled but have optional bosses that require preparation and searching. So here's a question: I was considering having the optional bosses being preparation bosses, but instead of preparation being required before you cast the start spell, the preparation begins when you enter the world. So you search the world I create for the stuff you need to defeat it. Aka, if there's a boss that does 1000 damage with fire magic, you can find an amulet that reduces fire magic by 98% or something. Sound good? Main story people are always going to be puzzle bosses.
  10. Let me know what you guys think. I really want to find out what people like in bosses. Every little comment helps too for my mods. EDIT: Brb, video had no sound for some reason. EDIT: Webcam is being stupid. Ugh. Typing: Puzzle - You can always beat it if you can get to it, the trick is figuring out how. Preparation - When you get to it you might not be able to beat it. You need to prepare for it. Boss and Minions - Exactly what it sounds like Enviornment Battle - Use the stuff around you to kill the boss like cannons, rocks or trees. Duels - Any close combat battle between one person Sniper Battles - Any long range only battles (FPSs) Giants - BIG stuff Dodging Battles - Think Crash Bandicoot. Anything where you dodge attacks and attack when there is an opening. Larger than life - Anything that is huge but not obscure. A giant ogre is not obscure so it's larger than life. If it was a giant mouth, that would be scary/obscure. Humans - ...You know this. Scary/Obscure creatures - Anything where you don't know what it is either because you can't see it/keep up with it (hiding) or because you have no idea what it is. Machines - ...You're looking at one technically. Any machine. Not necessarily electronic. Pinnacles - Wolf is an enemy. Mother wolf is a pinnacle. Anything that is a bigger version of normal enemies.
  11. Haha that's kind of funny. Yeah. You didn't do Xivili right. There was a button in that room. You know, with the red light. If you hit that, it shoots fireball at him. Presia kept it there as a defense system in case the giant got out of control. =D He has about 3 health in that case. I kept the other bosses fairly easy because of the difficulty challenge but I agree they need something more. As for patrols, completely right and noted for next time =). Check out my other mod too. It's a LOT better in my opinion. Much more light hearted.

  17. Boss Fight Hey everyone! Name’s Julian Sullivan. The short of it I’ve started up a new channel called MrBossFight on Youtube. Every two weeks I’m going to come up with a new boss fight for Oblivion. They’re going to be pretty short but I can assure you I put a lot of effort into them. Check out my intro video here. YOU CHOOSE THE LEVEL! Leave comments on the videos or on this post and if I like the idea I’ll make the level about that. Keep in mind, I’m only one man at the moment =). Levels start June 3rd! (And every two Fridays afterwards) Check it out here! The story of it In the world of Cyrodil there will be small objects appearing. When you touch them, you gain a spell which lets you embody someone else. These people are heroes. They are people at their most climactic moments. Why are they showing up? Who knows? Well, I do. But that comes with time =). The mechanics of it To start a level, you have to find the object that represents it in Cyrodil. Relax, if you don’t like puzzles I have the answers in the readme. Once you find it, you touch the object and cast the spell it gives you. From there, you have to try to complete the level. Following what the original person did is usually the only way out, so try to avoid killing your allies. If you complete it, you get a prize. If you cheat by opening the console (At all), having god mode on or toggle collision off, then you get nothing. Only fair, right? Besides, if you cheat what do you need prizes for anyways? The only prize isn’t just completing the level. Each level comes with optional challenges and rewards: 1) Difficulty Challenge – Completing the level with the difficulty meter all the way up. Keep in mind it has to be all the way up BEFORE you cast the spell to teleport in. 2) Handicap Challenge – Completing the level with the stated handicap (different depending on the level) 3) Bear Challenge – Each level is going to have small cuddly bears hidden in the level. Each one has a small money prize attached to them. If you complete both the difficulty challenge and handicap challenge, you get a bigger prize. Each level gives you a special prize. For instance, if there was a level about space, I’d give you a space ship or a staff that knocks enemies up to space or something. There are no levels about space…Probably won’t be. What you can do You can do two things: Either help me or play my levels! If you want to join me in making levels, I could really use vocal talent, artists and play testers so I can get better content out there. Keep in mind, every level is going to restricted to either a two week deadline or a 1 month deadline so I need people who are good and can keep up with short deadlines. I am, of course, realistic. If you join me as an artists, I’m not going to ask for an entire city tile set by the weekend. You have a life, just as I do. Boss Fight 3 - The Dismal Thicket This one is a lot more open and probably the best one I've made so far! Check it out! Download here: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39191
  18. 0.0 That is absolutely perfect thanks.
  19. I'm currently working on my third boss fight and I'm trying to figure out a way to do something. What I want to happen is there are two NPCs, a girl and a guy. The player is just off in the distance. The guy draws his sword, stares at the girl for five seconds and then kills her UNLESS the player gets in range at which point the guy will turn towards the player and pushes him away. I know about the commands Look and PushActorAway, but how can I force the enemy to not attack yet draw his sword? I think I have an idea of how to make the guy attack the girl. I'll just have a sword that kills that specific NPC on hit and set aggression from 0 to 100 when the timer hits a certain point and EVP an ambush package.
  20. Did some searching...Didn't know you could unpack a BSA at all. I got it now. Thanks.
  21. I don't have that folder path.
  22. I know it's part of the main oblivion but I really want to put this clothing mod in my mod but it requires that I have that texture =/ I've searched everywhere I can think of but can't figure out how people get it. Anyone know where? EDIT: Btw, Imperial female foot
  23. Hey, so this idea is pretty much final and I'm working on it right now. I've gotten two full levels under my belt in two weeks (two weeks ahead of schedule). Third one is under way right now. My question is where should I post it? Obviously here and the TESNexus Forums but where else should a post this as a topic so I can get as many people as possible in on this? I really think if enough people jump in that it can be a fun community thing, especially with the release of Skyrim. If you have a website, can you give me a link?
  24. That reminds me. The F key has gotten me to break the CS quite a few times. If you are going to use F, make sure there's a place for the object to fall on
