  1. OK, I'm starting to feel a wee bit like I'm banging my head against a brick wall, and I don't know why. I have a completed and fully navmeshed interior, I have my NPCs, my dialogue etc all ready to go, I think I've got a grip on Scenes, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to replicate the event in Whiterun with the Alik'r warriors and the Guard that kick off the Saadia quest. I tried digging into it in the editor, but either I'm missing a big script package somewhere that actually drives the whole affair, or my brain is just rebelling in protest over the amount of tutorials I've crammed into it over the past week. To clarify exactly what I want to do; the player enters Whiterun(at which point I'd have to force a check to make sure the aforementioned Scene with the Alik'r isn't active at the time), there are two NPCs talking, one of them storms off, the player gets a Misc objective to talk to the remaining NPC about the argument, that conversation leads to the actual quest. Am I just going to have to essentially comprehensively learn Papyrus before I can do something that complex, or is it actually dazzlingly simple and I'm just being an idiot?
  2. Thank you for this, very helpful, I'll pop back if I have any issues(might be a wee while though, I discovered that "modder's resources" exist yesterday, and I'm struggling not to include All The Things ).
  3. EDIT: Skip down for a follow up question. Hello there, lets get this out of the way; I'm a complete newb. No, seriously, I bought my PC copy of Skyrim last week, and downloaded the CK four days ago. That said, I'm off work ill at the moment and when I get something into my head I have to do it before I can get any peace, so in those four days I've logged 37 hours in the CK, completed the basic layout for my player home, and gotten through most of the tutorials covering basic functions and beginner quest/item/level creation. Before I go to all the trouble of figuring out how Bethesda made upgradable player homes(I cried a little inside when I saw DatenThielt's YT tutorial on adding new options to the existing houses, the amount of lines coming off the X Markers is daunting), I should probably check if the basic concept is sound; can I attach a condition to the death of the dungeon's boss NPC which will transfer ownership of the cell to the player, and also trigger an X Marker which will clear out any portions of the interior which are specific to the pre-ownership quest? Or, if my understanding of the tutorials I've seen is totally off and the previous sentence sounded like nonsensical gibberish( ), is the general aim achieveable? Cheers.
