  2. I would like to know someting. I have play Oblivion with countless numbers of acounts and have done fine with leveling, but a more recent one to me seems to level really really really REALLY slowly, which is intresting because I use my skills alot. its a mage with the major skills: Blade Block Alteration Mysticism Destruction Restoration Conjuration and I often always use my destruction, conjuration and blade a lot, know any reason why it might be so slow? (and I do do a lot of mob hunting) I have played almost half the amount of time as my other file which is a level 25 so its pretty strange.

  4. I haven't tried blender yet, but honestly...I don't have the time to learn how to do this. and all that was just jibberish to me that really only made it all the more intimidating to learn. Eh, I've said this already, I'm just considering dropping Modding. the only reason why I picked it up in the first place was because one of my biggest passions that preoccupied most of my time went away >P I use to LOOOVE making/editing videos...even if they were crappy, to me, I loved it and no one could make me stop...buuut, then my computers harddrive had to get wiped because of a freaking over-taking and almighty virus and I lost my editing software I used...it was professional! *sigh* >P
  5. eh...I haven't finished a single mod yet. that little mod that I have the script in is my little quest mod that I am learning how to make a quest mod in The player has to retrieve an item, but its guarded by a fierce monster in a deep dark cave (actually its just 1 large room) and the outside of the cave has a wrecked ship with crap and dead bodys spewed everywhere and ofcourse a dark omunous thunderstorm that floats around it...

  7. one of my favorite things to do in the game is to turn on one of my Beta mods and sit at a very specific cave I added to the game. what's so special about this cave? well besides the fact that I made it, I have a special script running on it that allows the weather to change when I am a specific distance from it (like an oblivion gate...cept the weather is different type than Oblivion Gates) I enjoy seeing the fact that I did that scripting...and I suck hard at scripting!

  9. hmmm...perhaps, but how many people here use Wings3D? I don't know if anyone can teach me but I got my own tutorial...now Ouija on the other hand =P I don't knwo about her, she might need a few tutorials.

I found a pretty intresting download on TESNexus and it is a tutorial for a program called Wing3D which is another 3d modeling program...So I won't be using blender, but I think I too am going to learn some 3D modeling, so Grond, after a bit of learning, I will see what I can do. certainly it doesn't seem hard. but give me sometime k?
  11. ha ha ha ha, there is never enough new weapons and armor added into Oblivion. in fact, I've actually seen a lack of decent adventuring armor (in my opinion) maybe I just don't know how to search for armor, but I don't know...most armor I find isn't really armor. I would love to see some of your work even if its beginners stuff; Hell, I will even test your beginners models
  12. yeah I wish my works that I put in NIFsckope were my own works...but the works I put in NIFscope is usually a modders resource that I found that I want to use in my game. Usually I use the modders resource, and then put some sort of enchantment on it so that way its actually usefull to my charecter.

  14. yeah...well like one of the people said, it might be easier to just make an animation of the whip lashes rather than have Havok do the work. from what I have heard, you really can't apply Havok to a weapon that the player is holding because the weapon becomes part of the players skeleton or something like that, and so...I don't know, you get the point? I do appreciate you thoughts though! it's great to atleast hear some thoughts on it. The one problem that exists is finding someone to model and animate...
  15. awh, I don't get to let the modeler's mind run free? personally restraints on the imagination kill me! I am sure a modelor...modeler? modelor would want to create his own weapon for someone once in awhile without a reference!

I am sorry to be posting another topic here in this forum with another request, but people here are a bit nicer and I think whether it goes through or not people atleast will brainstorm ideas for this. I have had this topic running for awhile now in the Official Forums and well people have talked a little bit about, some have been rude, some have been nice but either way I feel like for the most part I am the only one trying to figure it out. I suppose it is because it is so difficult to do...but anyways, I will describe the mod, and explain the thoughts so far. Anyone played any of the SoulCalibur games? I have been playing them since #2 and they are currently at 4. in the most recent one, one of my favorite players is the charecter Ivy...well she looks...indecent (since I am not aloud to use any other lovely words) so...you know, I use custom charecters that I make, using her fighting style with her weapon. Her weapon is know as a chain sword (also heard its actually a Japanese Chain Sword) ofcourse searching google images; nothing comes up but chainSAW swords. anyways, what it is is a short sword, a regular short sword, that is seperated into multiple sections. inside the sword is a chain and upon releaseing the chain the sword peices fall apart into a whip. In Soul Calibur, Ivy's whip sword can take 3 positions; Shortsword (unextended), wrapped extended, and free hanging extention. Obiviously the Shortsword position is just the sword in the shortsword position, in the game some attacks can make it automatically extend into the chain sword, however for this mod, doing that would take ages to do and would be too dang complicated to do, SO, ignore that. that was simply to tell you how it is. the second position is the sword extended but wrapped up, basically in this case the sword can reach a certain length but not the full extent. and the third is used liek a whip, and its quite fun >=D so the mod idea is to beable to incorporate two positions (using Oblivion combat style, not all her flashy attacks and stuff) where basically the player gets the sword (I am thinking a bit longer than a short sword...but maybe not the full length of a long sword) and can equip the shortsword and upon telling the game to equip again it will extend into a whip. Combat style of the shortsword would be the vanilla animations, obviousl, however the whip position would most likely require new animation, either that, or I would assume you would have to apply havok to the extended part of the sword with a collision on it. anyways. both positions have their positives an negatives. the short sword, though it has a shorter reach, would be more powerful and could provide a better block, while the extended position would reach muuuch further than really any sword and could possibly stagger an enemy with a power attack. so far, it would obviously require OBSE, so it would require some sort of scripting. since unfortunately Oblivion tells any new weapon equipped it must run the "drawweapon" animation. so, I don't know much about scripting, but here is what I thought could be done, for anyoen who knows scripting, maybe a script written somewhat like this could help, since I am sure somewhere in the Oblivion script is says run that anaimation: "player has [weapon] change true, run animation drawweapon endif player has [weapon].[chainsword] true, run animation drawweapon false" ofcourse that obviously isn't script, you could consider that translated script another person was trying to do....something in the idea of this working as far as the 3d modelling and collision goes. I don't know much about modelling but here is his post: "If you use simple NiTransformController and attach it directly to NiTriStrips/Shape branch then collision won't be affected at all here but if you do anims via NiControllerManager which is linked to particular NiNode branches then collision inside of such NiNode should behave in the same way as Strips/Shape branches (just look at secret door in basement of the house for sale in Anvil where the collision of that door rotates as well - it is the same with oblivion's gates too.). As for the former approach, Blender can export such anims pretty well, and in the latter case (NiControllerManager) as I don't know anything about 3ds, I need to rely solely upon Nifskope here." this guy had another good idea on how to make the animations for the whip: "Now while this is possible (I have a pseudo-attack in a mod im messing with right now), it would be pretty tricky to get it to look natural. If you wanted it to look better but be impractical you could wield it with the grab key to let havok determine the physics and then collision detect with enemies with one of the many methods to do so. This raises an array of problems (havok will probably slow oblivion to a crawl with a bunch of little chains colliding with each other). The best thing would be to make animation to be a static one. I'd forget all the physics and have the chain fly out in some kind of static animation. I know nothing of animating so I would probably script it. It'd be a bit of a pain to calculate the functions to find the position of each chain (especially in 3d space), but definitely possible. I'm far too busy to do this myself. If you want a starting point, start by learning general scripting. Then get some trig down and try to make a rock or something orbit you. Its a thought-provoking idea. Impractical for the layman, a worthy challenge for a talented programmer. May or may not be trivial for an animator. They are the rarest bunch by far." anyways, please provide help/thoughts/ideas/ [b]SUPPORT =( thanks for taking the time to read another one of my walls of text.   17. cool, uh....wheres the link? oh, and if there is one I like, would you just send me the one i like? cause I don't want a ton of weapons I am not going to use. edit: well sorry, lol they are all thin swords, and I do have a second profile that uses smaller swords, but this profile >=D big swords is my thing. Lol someone on the official forums gave me a link to one HUUUUUGE sword, but I think its a little too flashy (I didn't think they could get so flashy!) here you can see (This is an example of what not to do if you want to make me one =) TOO FLASHY...size is decent. I don't know I can't say its too big, can't say its too short...I don't you make the choice, its YOUR imagination with your image, who cares about my thoughts

I tried my best to find a cool looking sword but it seems like people just don't like huge ass swords. so, enjoy this because I want you to use your imagination. Sorry, I have a feeling no one is going to help because of no reference image to go off of, but I would still like to ask for HUGE sword. Wide, but not soopah wide, it can have curves ofcourse; you know wide at a certain area and wide at a certain place. I am more going for the heigth really. and if it could be a darn peice of Eye Candy. super flashy and all that stuff. I want to feel like a beast with this sword equiped because its so epic! so please, if you don't mind helping out using your imagination that would be great! I would appreciate it alot. PM me if you want some more dirrection. ____________________ SInce i need to SOME sort of guideline, here is a tiny one: Something about this sword is a ltitle much, and I am thinking that its because it is TOO flashy. so, lets not go that fqar, but size, mwuhahahaha! though...It is strong I still don't feel the power in using it...might be because they set the speed of the sword to be rediculously fast.
  19. It doesn't take a quest in the game to make a unique weapon to oblivion feel rewarding...well atleast not to me. When I take the time to work Nifscope to get a mesh/textures from a resource into the CS. I don't, maybe some of you might put the unique weapon into a quest for public release or maybe just because thats how you like it, but to me, I get the enjoyment of figuring out the damn program and getting it into the cs. I find a nice little spot to set the new stuff down and tuh-duh! next time I load a fiel I go pick it up and my charecter looks cool
  20. yeah...the other day...wtf? the other day....man my sleep schedule is all messed up its messing my mental calendar up. earlier today I was flipping through the weapons tab on Nexus...I decided to go backwards (after fliiping through 6 pages on A-....D?) and skipped to the last page. I will admit some of those weapons were cool, buuuuut, they didn't satisfy my want for powerful weapon. I want to get the "New blood texture mod" that makes lots of blood come out of people and get a huge huge HUGE claymore and go kick butt with it! I saw one huge huge HUGE sword for download, but to me it looked like a 2x4 plank was retextured with a Deadra armor/weapon texture.
  21. yeah I am trying to find some mods that satisfy, but most mods are fun but I don't know....not GREAT! the ones I do find that could possibly be GREAT are the ones I can't play because either: A) they require Downloadable Content (I have none of the DLC on the computer, only on the 360) b) they have sound/voice/new music in them and since my computer can be retarded sometimes, I have to play oblivion with my sound card disabled. I tried playing a quest called the five blind mice. voice overs - awesome (so I thought) so I started the quest, and the text just flashes for liek an instant so I can't even read fast enough, and the guy is just talkign away. so I just skip through all the text and stuff and hope my journal is helpful: NOPE. I had no godly idea what to do, no map markers. I downloaded the mod for both the story and the gameplay and just because I have no sound, looks liek I get to enjoy neither ._. I have played some quest mods where subtitles were there long enough for me to read, or that the journal was actually very...whats the word (brainfart) infilling? filling? insightful? uh...crap, well...you get what I mean. still, it's like there is just nothing to do. beat the main quest, have Midas magic but I got all the spells I want. I play through some oblivion gates now and again, but, you know...it just isn't fun. maybe oblivion gates would be a bit more fun if it wasn't lag city...but I can't fix that, I have my game running with the best settings I can set so it doesn't perform like a drunk slug. I also have wanted some really intrestingly new weapons and armor, but weapons....all i can find are these huge huge sets of weapons, and its like: I just want one (sorry my OCD prevents me from getting 200 weapons for just 1 weapon) an dI want armor but whenever I make a search...well moderators alreayd got onto me for bringing up the topic but, lets just say; I see more unmorally fit clothes for woment. (in my opinion that is)
  22. well here on this computer I have Oblivion (which, btw barely runs) this strange game that is incredibly boring called DreamFall, and then there is BioShock...oh wait...thats right -_- bioshock doesn't work on my computer. My brother has my 360 because he has become obsessed with Halo 3 online (great, I hope my approval rating isn't dropping from him using my accoutn so much) and so I don't have my console. ha ha, people can talk to me on skype =P I just signed up for another site, hoping it might pass the time. heard of it? it's called Viddler. its like a very unknown youtube.
