I've noticed some mods require the Update esm and others don't. Should I be including the Update esm when creating a plug-in?

I've posted these images (Main Hall, Kitchen, and Master Bed Room) to pick everyone's brains on how to clutter this place. This is the first room you see when you enter the home. I was thinking the main hall would be a good place to show-off all your booty. Like armour, weapons... etc. -
