  1. I installed Reclaim Sancre Tor RC1_0_5 using Wrye Bash a few weeks ago.  I successfully completed basic training and then scripted events stopped happening.  According to the Wiki when my pc says goodbye to Rowan before leaving for the Spies Like Us part of the quest there should be a conversation - didn't take place, and then I spent 3 in game days waiting for the new "master" to speak to my pc in the Foaming Flask.

I de-activated the mod, made a clean save and then tried again 3 times with the same result.  I finally totally deleted the mod and ran around Cyrodil tying up some loose ends and then decided to re-download the mod and re-install it.  Much to my embarrassment I have forgotten how to get the 3 BSAs and the esp file into the Installers tab of Wrye Bash - help please.  I did try installing it manually, following the instructions and ended up with missing meshes.  I am definitely having a senior day and am feeling very frustrated LOL.

You need to copy the archive which have the three BSA and the esp into the <path>\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers folder.

Once you have copied the archive launch Wrye Bash and click on the Installers tab then do like in this picture.

Btw... It is highly recommended to read and look at the pictures in the guide I linked to now and then. :)

  2. What the title says... I am not logged in here too often due for several reasons (I'm not angry or upset with anyone here).

Anyway, this morning when I open Thunderbird I got an e-mail notification about a PM someone had sent me, so I logged in and notice some changes on the main forum page.

What I mean is that last year at least two more subforum (groups?) were present, but now they seems to be gone.

Have these subforums been *deleted* due to inactivity?  Of course I could be wrong about this.

  3. Time for an update! Work continues on this. We have promoted Skrawafunda to team lead. Skraw continues to work on the reviews of the old patches. We will be using his reviews to edit the old patches as we pull them into the new plugin. Also Greatness7 has joined the team.

  4. By the way... What version of windows would you say gives me the most stable Oblivion game?  - With mods installed that is!

Windows XP or Windows 7 or?

From what I've heard both WindowsXP, Windows7 I guess.  You need to read this about UAC for newer Windows (I know this is for Morrowind, but it's valid for UAC) than WindowsXP.

I've no idea how it's on Windows 8.x though.

  5. Sadly, it happens more often than we know. This was more of an FYI to the authors out there when they start getting inundated with "your mod doesn't work!" posts.

Which they probably will when someone tries to run 450+ mods. We all know how well that's going to work out.

You're right it happens now and then, but like what Pluto said the community are pretty good to fight this kind of things when a mod compilation like this one emerge.

Well, how about modders just stop offer support for mod issues that can be traced back to mod compilations.

  6. I wonder if the majority of modders they contacted supported the idea...... I would like to think the answer was "No"..... but, not like corporate would care about that. They see an opportunity to make money, without lifting a finger. Profit at zero cost. There is no downside for them.

I think this article answer your question.

  7. I removed the two mods I had uploaded here, out of fear that someone steals them. I also cleared my wip thread. Frankly, I don't know what to do; the only thing I know is that I will carry on modding Skyrim but I won't release them, at the time being, at least.

The paid mod list on Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=72850&browsesort=mostrecent&section=readytouseitems&requiredflags[0]=paiditems&actualsort=mostrecent&p=1&numperpage=30

I notice that and I can't blame you for doing that.  If I were you I would probably relax and do something else perhaps playing a little, but not necessarily play Skyrim.

Just wait and see what happens before you decide what to do next.

  8. This is probably not related, but lately I can't see the avatar of the last poster in any forum as a guest and I need to login before I can see the avatars.

I'm quite sure that I could see the avatars of the last poster as a guest last year.  Of course the permission for guests could have been changed though.

  9. More ideas! I sorta want to implement a drink-brewing mechanic, like Heljarchen Farm does with mead, but I don't want to do mead, too. Setting up a mechanic to create wine out of jazbay grapes would be cool, but it doesn't seem very orc-ish to me. And ale out of just wheat seems boring. Hmm. Maybe I should just shelf the brewing idea for now.

If you haven't consider to join the modding school then I suggest that you do just that.  I did that 2½ years ago and it was fun plus rewarding, but after I finish two CK lessons my inspiration was gone due to RL.

  10. Pretty much every obscure Morrowind site via Teh Wayback has been searched (there are other pages too); I have left few stones unturned up to this point. The only clues I have are the "Texture Replacer Mod" I U/L'd to MMH (with the filename "PLAYABLE_DREMORA_NL_bb_bodysuit_uvr_main_11.tga" since it's a straight texture replacer) and the filename "PDP_cuirass_fem_FIXED.rar" discovered in "oblivionsource.com" via Teh Wayback (but no file available).

I have even contacted a couple of Olde Modders of Yore who/are were familiar with Sheol/SATAN's (they are one and the same) work

Since you know Sheol's alias have you search for the "SATAN" author on MMH yet, because I know that some modders had hosted their mods on different community sites over the years for more than 1 username(s) meaning Sheol/SATAN were probably an active modder back then and perhaps also a member on at least 2-3 forums in which at least one forum Sheol had a different username due to various reasons e.g Sheol already taken.

I also know that there is a lot of mods on MMH that has a strange filename like this - ID5636_2_26_Playable_Faces_Pack_v_2_20040928.rar - for a reason(s).

    1. Once were hosted on the old MMH site (now defunct)

    2. Transferred from a defunct site e.g Gamers Roam

Check any mod that's sorted in the Unprocessed category on MMH for a similar filename, although you still need to download it though.  Also browse the old MMH site and if you found it there then post a link here.

I know all this since I once were the first Senior Curator on MMH almost 4 years ago (man time rushes by) and I know there is still a little chance that you could find the mod you're looking for.

    Good luck!

  11. I read this thread at the official and I thought people here should know about what has happen on Steam lately.

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138657-Malware-Disguised-as-SCR-File-Spread-through-Steam

Even if I don't use any communicating features on Steam such as chat or playing MMO with friends on Steam, makes me concerned about the security on Steam despite for having Steam Guard active 24 hours a day.

  12. Evidence Chest Mod - Content Restoration

The Evidence Chest mod contains all content that Bethesda for some reason decided to cut out from the game when they release Morrowind in 2002.  Everything that is included is based on what evidence we find in the game files e.g Morrowind.esm, Tribunal.esm, Bloodmoon.esm, and this content restoration mod is called the Evidence Chest due to the fact there is an Evidence Chest in every Imperial Legion Fort usually in the same cell as the prison cells are.

Here is the announcement for the Evidence Chest mod.  Also check the forum for the Unofficial Morrowind Patch project.

  13. This update is different but special.

Recently Midgetalien posted a Morrowind: Uncut thread and he caught my attention, because his WIP thread is exactly what plans the UMP team has for a content restoration mod. So I sent him a note and we've decided to merge our two ideas into a single mod, called the Evidence Chest. Midgetalien is also going to lend a hand with the Unofficial Morrowind Patch too!

We call it the Evidence Chest mod and the reason is obvious, because anyone who has played Morrowind knows there is an Evidence Chest in every Imperial Legion fort near the prison cells, so we thought it was the perfect place to store content that doesn't belong in the Unofficial Morrowind Patch.

All unused content that we can find evidence for in the original game files (Morrowind.esm, Tribunal.esm, Bloodmoon.esm) will be included in the Evidence Chest mod, which will be similar to what the Cutting Room Floor mod is for Skyrim. This will be a content restoration mod for Morrowind.

  14. I can't even pronounce that... Vain-a-mow-in-en?

I can pronounce it and I think it's something like this.

Do you remember Wayn the Fighter's Guild smith from Morrowind?  If you say Wayn with an 'i' instead of an 'y' before the 'n' and add an 'a' after the 'n' then you're close to "Vaina" in Vainamoinen.

The second piece of word 'moinen' is similar to two words together 'inon' (the word 'in' and 'on' without being separated as two words) and that's is close to Vainamoinen.
