  1. I decided to go ahead and reinstall from scratch again. I started with the basics Oblvion, Si, Official DLC's, Patches I had no problems I installed a major sound and some graphics mods and again had no problems I then installed Better Cities which somehow stopped my weather mod from working properly and lead to my original CTD problem and also it CTD'd when approaching certain locations. I therefore uninstalled Better Cities. This stopped my original CTD's from happening as often and the weather mod started working properly. I then installed some gameplay overhaul mods and the CDT problem did not increase in frequency I can play for long times now so I'm going to leave it as it is and start enjoying the game instead of worrying about CDT's too much Here's my current mods using Wrye Bash: This is a list of those I installed through OBMM : and Oblivion Stutter Remover is installed.
  2. I am unable to resolve this problem completely. I uninstalled all OBSE required mods and was able to play for over an hour numerous times without CTD so I figured the problem was solved but then it CTD'd twice. It did not follow the usual pattern however as the bstask count was low both times so I am not sure if the CTD's are related to the original ones. At the moment I'll just have to play and hope after being outnumbered by enemies 8 to 1 and surviving it won't crash before I have a chance to save. Here my current mods Active Mod Files:
  3. I just played about an hour with Autosave activated with no problem. I did get nervous about that though and disabled it a few minutes before I quit. I entered numerous doors and did many fast travels and waited a few times with no crash. So far getting rid of OBSE and the mods requiring it seems to have stopped the CTDs I hope that's the end of them.
  4. I installed OSR and it helped but did not fix the problem. I believe the problem is a script problem. I disabled scripting in the console and played a while. The BSTask count got to over 700 without crashing. So I tried fast traveling quite a few times and did not have one CTD. It usually crashed most of the times I tried to travel before. I was not sure if the console command would effect my OBSE mods so I uninstalled the OBSE required ones just in case. So far the crashing has stopped .
  5. He he Good one that's definitely true
  6. Ok Here's the complete one. The game is installed in C:\Games Avast A/V is running I installed the stutter remover and lowered my fps to between 30 and 60 with it. I took a tour from Skingrad to Anvil with a final Bstask of 380 and memory usage of Oblivion up to arround 1.2Gig and Total memory usage of app 3.5 Gig and CPU usage of app 40 % with no CTD. I'll have to run a few more trials to see if the problem still occurs but my day ends at 9:00PM
  7. I have Menuque and Oblivion Reloaded in the plugins folder. I downloaded and installed the 9c directx. I played for about 40 minutes with no crashes and ended up with a bstask number of 462. So I decided to reinstall the Better Cites mod and played it again . I got about 20 minutes invested and it CTD'd with a bstask of 180 or so. It did take longer than usual to reach that level than usual. I had Task Manager showing and Oblivion was using approximately 1 Gig when it crashed. I'll install the Stutter remover mod and see how it goes. Here's my dxdiag info
  8. Yeah I thought of that at work today too. I forgot to add that I am using OBSE. I just noticed that as many times as I have been to their download site over at nexus that it says to use dx 9C with OBSE. I'm going to install that version and see if the problem still persists . I'll let you know if it fixes the problem.
  9. It says the same thing to me. According to it I have Dx 12 installed. I might need to install Dx 9 along with it. Possibly? I will have to reply to any new messages tomorrow night. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  10. Here are my current mods and my dxdiag report Active Mod Files: DxDiag.txt
  11. There is a statistic in the oblivion console labeled BSTASK. It rises and rises while playing the game. When it gets somewhat above 100 my game crashes to the desktop. This takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. I have 8 gig of ram and 2 gig of video ram and a 3+ Ghz CPU so this is very vexing and no fun for me. Does anyone know what this refers to?
