  1. Yea the knee pad and shin are joined but it wont join verts for me. Il try again, maybe blender was just being temperamental last time (Which is no surprise haha)
  2. Hopefully my great works will be doubled then, because I dont drink Finished with my reform of the chest I think... still contemplating trying to re do those legs - Wouldnt be a problem if I could join the verts of the two seperate meshes but blender dosnt want to play ball in that regard.
  3. Haha, probably far from a master but definitely better than I was a year ago when I started this. Despite the frustrations and how annoyed I get with myself when I don't get it right I still enjoy it! But I totally understand what your saying. Its my biggest problem as a person I think, I'm just never happy with what I do and always think it can be better no matter how new or experienced I am in something. But learning this and doing what I have done has been so much fun, and when I eventually become more competent I hope to do more mods! My next post WILL be of an update of most of if not all the set in game with placeholder textures which should be sometime this week.
  4. Will do my best to get it as near perfect as I can.
  5. I question if Il ever finish this. Not because of laziness or unwillingness to do it, no. Im just such a freaking perfectionist. Despite the fact I know this is my first time doing this and I should expect it to be crap because of my in-experiance, I still want it to be perfect. Ive just re modeled the entire chest piece because I was unhappy with how some of it was sitting, Im now re rigging/uv mapping and texturing this and trying to get it in game again. Granted this was of some benefit because 1 I think it looks better and 2 Ive saved on polys. But Im my own worst enemy, hell I want to re do the shin parts and the knee pads because ive realized they should be attached whereas Ive got them as two separate parts, I also really want to re do the sash because im un happy with that, but every time I try its no good hanging cloth like that is a bitch to get right. But I will persevere. I just need to try and find a ground I can be happy with and understand it wont be perfect.
  6. Thanks! I actually got it fixed yesterday so there was no clipping! There was some minor stretching just under the arms but after checking the weights nothing is amiss so I think that is just how that part of the body stretches when jumping, it's very minor though so it would probably not be noticed. I have a couple of things I'd like to do for fallout 4 and as it's still the creation engine I'm hoping what I learn here will help there too.
  7. Well. It took me all day but with help from Hana, I got it in game, with a body and its all weighted correctly. There is some mesh revisions to make and weights under the arms need to be fixed (I guessed if any weights would be an issue it would be these) as the under arm part stretches with the arm slightly as it moves. Will take a crack at getting the full set in tomorrow!
  8. EVERYONE WHO IS PAYING ATTENTION TO THIS I DID A THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS IN GAME! YES THE TEXTURE IS REALLY ****ty AND I DONT HAVE A BODY BUT MY ARMOR IS.IN.GAME. I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! Ok. The work is far from over however, I need to work out why I dont have a body, but I have an idea as to why. That texture is just a place holder texture to make sure I could get it working in game. Now I have the rest of the armor to get in game, once thats done and its all working in game I will get the proper textures done. Then I have a matching Sword and Shield to make. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me thus far but I hazard a guess I will need more help at some point haha. Last two notes, damn that specular needs toning down, I head Skyrims engine brightened things but damn. Also, best Rayman cosplay - Ever.
  9. Your guide is great! its just all this is so new to me so it takes me a while to wrap my head around it is all! I also have a feeling that im using a new version of Nifskope to the one from the guide because there are some diffrences, but I'll let you know about that when I get there (My issue was that things that where supposed to be there wern't and the way certain things where meant to be happening again, wern't) In terms of BP_TORSO I can add that to the vertex groups, Il just do as the guide says for the other parts instead, would I want to have all verts of the chest piece fully weighted to BP_TORSO? like the attached image? and after adding I know have my vertex groups like this am I missing any? (Except BP_LEFTLEG and BP_RIGHT arm because I assume this chest piece wont belong to them) Thanks Hana!
  10. Thanks for responding! Il make sure to try and check these things next time through Im thinking however my issues might go a little further back, more specifically when applying weights and such in blender which is then causing further issues when I get to nifskope, ATM im just trying to get the chest piece in game (I have the rest of the mesh done, but before I tackled the whole thing I thought I would just try to get one piece in game first) as mentioned before Im using this guide http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1 at the minute Im just copying the weights from the body (planned to make adjustments from there after seeing it in game) which is fine, I did that ok but when it talks about fixing the dismemberment weights it mentions that I should have BP_TORSO and I dont have it and im unsure if I can just add it like it says with BP_LEFTLEG and BP_RIGHTARM and assign the verts? the only vertex groups it gives me are in the attached image, I foolishly assumed that perhaps because of changes BP_TORSO had been replaced with NPC Spine/1/2. I dont know if you have any answers to this one XD. I think I should take it one problem at a time, because I had issues in Nifskope as well but figured I should at least sort this one out first. Im going to go back and re read again (for about the 10th time lol) your guide about skin partitions. Thanks for the help though I really appreciate it!
  11. So today was my first attempt to get this ingame. This was the result I raged. I cried. I raged some more. Technically its in-game... there is just something wrong with the textures... gotta get the positives right Even the character is un-impressed... Never the less, I will try again tomorrow.
  12. Boom. And despite me dissapearing for months, im back. Due to education and work ive had almost no time to work on this at all. but Im determined to now squeeze in time to do this. Ive been reading up on guides and anything I can see and Ive learned some awesome things so hopefully I can make this armor awesome, even if most people are done playing Skyrim I still want to do it, I also think I solved my issue I had trying to rig it as well but not sure yet. Hana, Ive been reading your guide, still trying to understand Skin partitions etc in nifskope
  13. So Im lost, and stuck. I thought modeling would be the hard part of this process. How so very wrong was I. Ive finished the model, I can UV Unwrap and paint the textures and create the normal maps in GIMP, but apart from this? Im totally lost. I know I have to do stuff relating to the skeletons in Blender and dont even get me started on NifSkope and how confusing that is. I managed to take just my chest-piece and was able to get it into to Nifskope, even got the textures applied and could see them in Nifskope (they looked horrible though I need to do that better) and doing all that took me about 5 hours of messing around. Ive been following the guide I had in the first page but now its almost impossible to follow because it seems to be quite picture reliant and none of the pictures there work anymore. Is there anyone who can help me with this process now the model is finished?
  14. Sp its been around a month since I last updated here, over the last month Grond has been a massive help in helping me with my modeling process, Im pretty much almost at a stage where I can call my model finished, all thats left is a couple of minor tweaks and I also want to make an alternate neck option in a scarf but I dont think that will take long, I will then be ready to move onto UV'ing etc In the last 24 hours as well i have completely re done the legs I think they look a lot better than what I originally did Will put pics in spoilers so I dont destroy the page with images on load, Any feedback please let me know! Thanks for your feedback guys!
  15. I finally have a decent update to show, please anyone feel free to give any criticisms etc - put pics in spoiler tag to save page space At this rate hopefully will have the whole model done soon.
  16. Right, I finally have some progress, its not a huge amount but its something, ive decided to try and dedicate at least 1 hour every day to this preject Ive finally made it so all of the leg pieces fit on each leg accordingly whereas before they where odd and not in shape on each leg (it literally took me an hour to figure out how to do this, i know, im terrible at this ) I still have some amendments to make but ive at least started my work back up!
  17. So im alive. Been gone a while. Hopefully i will have some more progress updates this weekend
  18. If you run into modeling problems feel free to PM me - me and blender go way back, and I'm in front of this rig most of the day, messing up textures for Druid For rigging I'm not much help - but Hana is! Hi Grond! thanks for the comments! Just seen your message but its like half 1 in the morning here so might look to drop you a pm later if that's ok. Il be honest some of the stuff you said there scares me as I don't know what some of it means, like baking (Il safely assume you dont mean making cake ), haven't a clue what that is lol I am a total novice when it comes to this so any help is greatly appreciated, I literally followed a guide to get the programs working, get the body into blender and ive since winged it from there lol
  19. Thanks HeyYou I appreciate the comments : D Guys im having a bit of a dilemma, I think I know the answer but want to make sure before I carry on, so to create the leg armor as you see in the above images I shrink wrapped a cube to the right leg of the body model, now the way the body model in blender is, from where Ive created the armor it now bends slightly to the side as the leg did image for referance http://imgur.com/gallery/6sDUzI9/new, now obviously in Skyrim when you stand still you don't stand in the pose the body model is in blender and im now having concerns that ive made it wrong and will have to re do it - BUT as per Hanaisse says above make it how I want it to look as it wont affect the rigging/weight painting so even though its at the angle now im guessing it will all be fixed when its rigged/weight painted? I would message Hanaisse direct but I dont want to be a nuisense so any one who can awnser it is greatly appreciated!
  20. So its been a while, thought I should update here, I know only one person has responded to my thread (and i thank you greatly for this Hanaisse) I have done more work Im not just sat on the boots apart from some resizing and moving around I have actually done all the leg armor: http://imgur.com/gallery/v1L93if and another angle from the side http://imgur.com/gallery/0pRQsPY Any feed back is welcome, I know the model dosnt look great im trying my best and learning as I go, you have no idea how hard that kneepad was to make. as I say I know it dosnt look great and while I do plan to release this once done i am only doing it for my own enjoyment. But yea any feedback you guys can give would be great!
  21. Hey guys been a bit busy latley and not been able to do work on this but im back on it now. Im having a bit of trouble modeling the leg armor Ive been trying to use a cub. cutting it in half and mirroring it and then shrink wrapping it to the leg however this dosnt quite work out, Im having a lot of trouble now changing it to how I want it to be, what is the best way to go about leg armor? am I better off copying the leg itself then amending it to how I want it?
  22. Ok, Il have to load an old save and make the adjustments again thanks Hanaisse Ive asked so many places and you the only person who gave me a straight up awnser lol thank you!
  23. Can somone help? Not sure if ive done the right thing or not... I was finishing up some work on the boots as they needed a bit more tweaking now I originally added a subsurf modifier to them when I was making them but I never hit the apply button, I have now applied the subsuf modifier and the boot has changed in edit mode, there is now just short of 20,000 faces on the mesh of one boot... I get the feeling this is an incredibly high amount, I have no Idea the amount of faces as an averadge it should have, If I run a script to reduce the amount of poly's then the vertices and everything goe really crazy like a crazy spiders web. I can go back to an old save I will just have to edit the boots again should I or should I not be applying the sub surf modifier?
  24. I clearly have a lot to learn But I will get there
  25. Thats so good to know about the legs, because ive been doing my nut in trying shape it and its messing it up lol So you actually delete the "leg" as it where that would be in the boot, that makes a lot of sense now thinking about it, especially if the leg isnt showing why have it there, I take it the same is done for the feet as well, which in this case makes sense as well as they are high heels I was wandering how I would get that to work just figured I would work it out when I got to that part lol Thanks Hanaisse, I did actually read through your guide once already, didnt fully understand it (specifically the parts about NifSkope) but I will make sure to go back and understand it.
