  1. I am strongly against paying/being paid for mods for many of the reasons already stated. A craftsman who rafts for enjoyment will almost always produce a superior product to one who does it for money. You have only to look at the mod community to see what I mean: Look at Ancient Towers by WillieSea. Look at Arthmoor's villages, WhoGuru's homes & Meo's resources. Then, of course, there's things like RST, KotN: Revelations and Nehrim. Things like that would not be produced by modders looking for a quick buck. Another problem with paid for community mods is the ESRB (and similar organizations). What happens when a third party mod adds content that could change the game's rating (i.e. making something like Deadly Reflex for a T rated game)? Would they: 1) Change the rating for every copy of the game whether it uses that mod or not? ( "hot coffee" anyone?) 2) Prohibit the upload entirely? (Incoming freedom of expression protest!) 3) Prohibit the creation of content that would conflict the the game's rating? (Limits on creativity? NOOOOOO!) 4) Create a new rating specifically for modded games? (Might prevent non-gamer customers from buying it, once the special rating is explained. Bad.) All in all, I think the whole idea is just plain BAD! What's next? Charging people to read fan fiction?
  2. That's the last episode of series 5. There's still the first seven episodes of the current series to see, which are available on DVD here.
  3. Just found out the Doctor returns on 8/27. Just 8 days to wait. Until then, enjoy this:
  4. This is one of the funniest Oblivion videos I've seen to date:
  5. If I'm not mistaken, that's the Ayleid Royals armor by JGreyBear. You can get it at TESNexus.
  6. Welcome to TESA, Darth! Glad you accepted the invite.
  7. For all of you Doctor Who fans out there:
  8. Wow, lots of great information here. Thanks everybody!
  9. I wish it was just a problem with the cell, but it happens in any cell I use, vanilla or otherwise (and I've used quite a few of both). I have no problems making those types of lights. I can make 'em and place 'em all day long with no problems at all. Thanks for the .nif! JDfan over at the BGS forums made a similar one for me. Oddly enough, I can get both into the CS as light objects and save the .esp without a crash, but the CS still crashes when I try to add either one directly to a cell. However, If I add a vanilla light to a cell and then use Search & Replace to add yours and/or JDFan's, it works. Once I get just one of them placed in that manner, I can drag more into the render window without any problems. A nice little workaround. Not sure why I'm have trouble saving with some and not others, but oh well. So, it's a bounding radius issue, eh? Interesting. Have you tried the "Search & Replace" technique instead of/in addition to using TES4Edit? Out of curiosity, would plugins created with the CSE require OBSE in order to work if no OBSE functions are used? Thanks, DsoS! And thanks to all of you for helping me with this!
  10. I'm trying to create a new entry in the "Light" category in the CS. What I want to do is create a light that uses the welkyndstone03.nif. So far, what I've tried is this: 1. Right click and select "New" in the "Light" category (also tried the following steps with existing lights) 2. Click on "Add NIF File" and selected welkyndstone03.nif and clicked "OK". 3. Tried to save the .esp or place the new "light" in a cell. Step 3 results in an instant crash. I know for a fact a mesh can be used as a light source because several vanilla "lights" are meshes (example: WallSconceTriple01Yellow512 uses the WallSconceTriple01.NIF). Ruins of Malamath also adds a new "light" that uses a modified WelkyndItem.NIF as a light source. I've tried using that mesh (both by following the above steps and just copying it from the Malamath.esp into mine) and the CS still crashes as soon as I add the light to a cell or try to save the .esp. What do I need to do to get this to work?
  11. But I didn't make it. That was made by the resident Guru of Who, known here and other places as WhoGuru (for that very reason). I couldn't knit to save my life. and I'm a dude.
  12. Thanks! I'll try that out and see how it goes.
  13. I love hot sauces, too! I rarely eat anything without them. I currently have eight different hot sauces in my pantry. Hmm...I wonder what the hottest sauce the Doctor could tolerate is?
  14. Yikes! Well, that might put a serious crimp on my mod idea. I'll ask Willie and Sea (pun intended ) what he thinks. Khettienna posted a really good idea over on the BGS forums. Instead of preventing a second cast on the same day, she suggested preventing the spell from being added twice on the same day. Simple, but effective. I'll test the idea out first on my Birthsign Jewelry mod (as an update) to see if I can get it working.
  15. Well, I thought I had it worked out, but I don't. I can't figure out a way to account for fortified health that's still not at max. Not really. The biggest problem I have is figuring out how to prevent the spell from being cast after it has been removed and re-added within 24 hours. I need something like: If GlobalVariableID == 1 Prevent pell cast
  16. Same here. It just feels like the show loses momentum when they go on break, especially when they end on a cliffhanger. Oh, if only I had a I'd been suspecting it for a while. I'm sot sure exactly what tipped me off (I rarely am in situations like this), but I knew I was right when I saw the name "Melody". That looks great! Wait, is that Louisiana Hot Sauce on the table behind you?
  17. Thanks DsoS! After a bit of tweaking, I got it working. Anybody have any ideas about this one?
  18. There are several things I want to accomplish and they require scripting that I don't know how to write. As such, I would greatly appreciate any help. Issue 1: Issue 2: I had another question, but I can't think of it just now (don't you just love it when that happens? ). If/when I do, I'll add it to this post. I would prefer to avoid using OBSE since some players avoid mods that require it and I want these to have as wide an appeal as possible.
  19. This isn't the first instance of serialization in Doctor Who. All twenty-six episodes of the sixteenth season were interlinked (the Key to time saga). Season twenty-three did the same thing (Trial of a Timelord saga). I actually like it when shows do this, as it lends a greater sense of continuity.
  20. There's a British guy named Joe who seems somewhat accident prone:
  21. I like the overall design, but I'd make the grip a bit thicker. The grip should at least be reinforced with metal (if not made of metal entirely), because it looks like it would break after two or three hits. And to be honest, I think it should be considered a "blunt" weapon, because something like that appears designed to break bones that are "protected" by armor (like ribs or a shield arm). Still, I would very much like to use this in my game. Any timeframe for a release?
  22. Wow, Bear, those are amazing! I'm definitely going to mix n' match those. A note on the Zeitgeist tracks: they definitely fit better than some of the tracks I use. I use various tracks from: Legend of Zelda Castlevania Doctor Who Babylon 5 and a several others. But Inequipoise and Zeitgeist are definitely more fitting. Looking forward to hearing them around Cyrodiil and The Shivering Isles.
  23. This sounds interesting. I'm always interested in checking out new music tracks/packs, especially if there's a preview available. I'm going to keep my eye on this. The only problem is that I can't get either link to work, so I can't cast a vote yet.
  24. Well, watched the big DW marathon yesterday. It was fun watching all those episodes back to back and it got me thinking (very dangerous when that happens ). How good a duplicate is the Doctor-Ganger? Could he...regenerate like a normal Timelord? If so, is that who we saw die in the first episode? Then there's the eyepatch lady we keep seeing. Could she actually be Romana? As far as I can recall, Romana never made it out of E-Space.
  25. Nice pic! I like the map in the background there. Out of curiosity, does everyone in Dibella's Watch have dark hair?
