  1. Damn you I say! Seriously that Jellytime emoticon is just SO FREAKING AWESOME. Anyway, I've been populating my little palace with custom NPCs now thanks to the answers given here. I will try to use the extender and OBSE for some more customized NPCs.
  2. Yeah see thats what I mean! I just knew the knowledge of how to copy existing objects was lurking somewhere in my deep dark subconscious but you just dregged it out of the murk! Also, I won't claim to be a veteran with the CS, but I'm not a newbie. I finished the exams and class assignments on TES alliance and they were what got me into serious modding. But yes, your advice on reading up on the basics again might clear some of the forgotten tricks and stuff.
  3. I tried that, atleast I tried that by right clicking the creature in question (the base object in the object window, not the reference in the render window ofcourse), finding out I could only select New, Edit, Delete, Toggle Quest Info and Use Info. This is probably very basic, and I could swear I should know how to do this...but I just can't remember
  4. Ok so I'm trying to make a custom creature/NPC that uses the same script and model as Jygallag, but whenever I go to the object window and create a new creature, when I am then asked to select (for example) the file that determines what skeleton the creature is supposed to have, I can never find the Jygallag one, infact it seems like most model files (nif I think) and maps are actually missing. I think they are there (since all creatures and NPCs in my game have working skeletons and models), but my computer just isn't seeing them when I try to find them in the CS for some reason. Is there a box I didn't tick? A switch I didn't flip? A program I didn't...download? (dammit if only that rhymed!)
  5. I've found out how to make trees, rocks, buildings and other such things to appear in the distance, but now the landscape itself (the ground) still isn't there. This makes it seem as if the trees are just floating in midair, until I get close enough for the landscape to pop up. Progress, but not there yet
  6. I've sent you a PM where I suggest sending you my mod so you can see whats wrong with it. This is starting to get over my head, as I'm not sure what to look for when it comes to finding LOD files and FormID. Ofcourse any suggestions from you or someone else through this thread alone is still very much appreciated.
  7. Well, I tried..and apparantly I failed. First I used the Move Worldspaces function on the file when it was still only .esp. Then I generated the LOD in the Heightmap Editor window, saved, tested ingame: failed. Secondly I used a backed up version of the .esp, converted it to .esm, then used Move Worldspaces, generated LOD in Heightmap, saved, merged ,esp with .esm to reflect changes, tested ingame: failed again. As I'm writing this I realise I may have forgotten to delete the LOD files, but this one is a new mod from the previous ones, so I figured it wouldn't make a difference anyway...or am I wrong there?
  8. Quick response, I like it! I'll give this a shot then. If it works, I'll report back. If it doesn't...well...I'll also report back
  9. Hello all, I am currently in the process of creating a new world space that has portals to all other major areas in Oblivion (portals to: Major cities in Cyrodill, all Oblivion planes, the Shivering Isles, etc). The land itself is not too horribly big, but distance is definitely a factor. The problem I constantly seem to come across is that whenever I test my landscape, the landscape in front of me seems invisible until I get really close, at which point it just seems to pop up. I think this has something to do with DistantLOD, though I could be totally wrong. What I've done to solve this: -Used the "Generate LOD" function in the Heightmap Editor -Used the "Generate LOD and Texture" in the Render Window -Ran my mod (.esp and .esm) through TES4 LODGen -Used TESGecko to move Worldspaces I think I used another program, but I can't really remember at the moment. Anyway, I've started over more times then I care to count and I'm getting quite annoyed by this. I've followed up on all the classes on this site and done the final exam by myself, so that much is covered, but it never tells you what to do about distant land not popping up until you almost enter the cell. Is there anyone out there that can help me solve this?
