  1. Thanks awfully, worked perfectly.
  2. I always felt that the Waterfront was a bit quiet, no stalls, shops, nothing. So I thought that it would be a good project to establish a Waterfront Bazaar. So I downloaded Mr_Siika's market resource pack, installed it and got stuck in. I activated the oblivion.esm, the market resource pack and started laying out the market in the Waterfront. Then I saved it as Waterfront Bazaar.esp and went off for supper. When I came back, I loaded the CS up again and to my chagrin, everything EXCEPT the vanilla Oblivion stuff that I had used, simply disappeared. I tried this a couple of times, always with the same result. The Mr_Siika stuff appears in the objects window but like I said, it disappears...... help! Peace Fille
  3. What I did was first off I made my abandoned farm hideout as hideout.esp complete with interior and exterior. Then later, I created the maid's hut. The interior has a specific ID and I just dropped the exterior into the existing hideout.esp But now that I think about it, there are 2 .esp so you are prolly right. So the question then would be if you are building mulitiple houses (castles whatever) in a cell(s) then you could have as many separate interiors as you like each with it's unique ID and as many exteriors but all saved within the framework of one .esp This makes sense. Thanks Peace Fille

    Frankenstein

I am beginning to tear my hair out. My NPCs are now obediently eating and sleeping and wandering on cue, so no problem there. I took one of the other students uploads and did the shopping trip to the Merchants in EXACTLY as he did, but the little cow refuses to budge *sigh* I swear if I could put in a pigsty, she would be in charge of that. Nevertheless, I will keep on trying..... My question is this, when that script executes, must she be outside the house? I don't think so because I moved her outside to take care of the sheep and 4 o'clock came and went and she didn't go to the IC. My next question is how come they can't open doors that are nearby? The reason I ask this is that the sheepgirl is right outside the house and there are 4 beds in the house. but went bedtime came, she walked halfway across Cyrodil in the night to a bandit camp and climbed under a tent there and slept instead of walking 10 feet, opening a door and jumping into bed. I put a tent and a bedroll outside which she now uses, but how do I make her go inside?
  7. Hi Folks. I have a small problem which I could use a bit of advice on. First off, the background; I made a hideout just outside of Weye using all the principles as outlined in the >Construction Set Basics< tutorials. The house was a success, I furnished it, populated it with 2 NPCs from the >NPCs & AI< tutorials and everything was totally groovy. Then I got a bit more ambitious so I built a maid's shack just up the hill, put in a sheepfold, dropped a flock of sheep in the environs then transferred one of the NPCs outside to act as a shepherd, Things just got better and better ('cept for the shepherd going on a murderous frenzy every now and then and slaughtering one of the poor sheep): The a funny thing happened, there are 2 houses, 2 sheepfolds, 2 doors, 2 everything. So when I make a modification to the height of the house for landscaping purposes, everything goes pear shaped. Now I suspect that the maid's hut was the root of the problem. I did the interior of the 1st house, found the grid where I wanted to put it, "claimed" the cell, placed the house and everything worked. I did the interior of the 2nd building, the maid's hut, then dropped the exterior into the same cell as the 1st house. Then I noticed the dupliicates of all the external things I placed. I am a bit confused as to what I have done wrong....... Peace Fille
  8. Perhaps someone could give me a bit of advice about a problem that I am having with a door? I worked carefully through the Construction Set Basics course and got it sussed pretty well. Then I did something that I wanted to do for a while, I created a Crew Hideout just outside Weye using the techniques that I learned on the Construction Set Basics course and made a really cool deserted farmhouse with enough storage etc for my crew. It was a success and everything worked really well and I was very satisfied. Then I was busy with the NPCs & AI Workshop and I made the NPC using my hideout as the base for the exercise. I decided to make her the cleaner and built a small cottage nearby. I created the interior as a separate entity, and then I dropped the exterior, and linked the doors from the interior to the exterior. The problem is that My cursor recognises the door, the references are correct but I cannot access the interior. Both houses share the same cell. Anyone familiar with this problem? Peace Fille

Ok, I seem to have gotten the NPC to work. I created a new one so now I have 2 in the same room. Just a question though, they are eating and sleeping and they wander around the room all the time, but I was expecting them to wander outside, after all 2048 inches is over 50 yards? Is that right? I still can't get my NPC to go shopping at the IC Market district but I downloaded a few of the other members package images and I will try again this weekend. I would post the screenies but I can't for the life of me find out how to attach a file to this posting. I can email it to you if you'd like though. xxx

    Servant NPCs

Before I even ask my next question, please be gentle if you consider it to be a stupid one, I am very new to modding (enjoying it thoroughly though). Having said that my question is how does one make a servant NPC? Does such a thing exist? The reason that I am asking this is that I built a nice little hide-out for my crew, in the form of an abandoned farmhouse just outside of Weye (thanks to these forums I can now build houses to suit my requirements. Blessings upon thee all!" The house accommodates my crew and I put the NPC I made from the NPCs & AI Class into the house. Then it occurred to me that she would make an ideal cleaning lady to pick up the mess, sweep and do the dishes on a permanent basis. Now I am up to date and pretty familiar with what is available and I am sure that no one has created such an NPC apart from the maid in the Skingrad house and she doesn't seem to do much in the way of cleaning up. I would be quite content if she just swept all day, although doing dishes would be nice. This would be a really good idea (she added modestly) We need more girls in Oblivion....

    Frankenstein

Yes, I have, and I agree with you, they are wonderful. The Frankenstein was created using the tutorials on this site. And just as an update, I redid it last night using the recipe exactly and it worked except that my npc didn't come home after her wander. I think she has problems with the door. Then I tried the homework exercise and I just couldn't get it to work. Anyway I will keep on trucking....

    Frankenstein

I think that I have created a monster and I don't quite know how I did it. All she does all day is sit at the dining room table and stuff her face! She refuses to sleep and never leaves the house. I will redo it tonight (maybe it is because I put loads of food in her inventory) Peace Fille
  14. Hi Folks, I hope I am in the right place to ask this question. Could someone please tell me how to change the status of an object that is place in an interior to "non-stolen" 'cos all the stuff I place indoors has the little red hand. I know it is probably a silly question but I am really new at modding.... Peace Fille
