I don't know if this is the right place to say this, but Fonger has probably forgotten more about TES games than most of us will ever know. I say it again, welcome to the famous Fonger (missed you, big time at Bethesda's forums)

This Video card seems to work best with the 186.18 drivers. Many users have reported problems with Oblivion and the 192xx drivers (I don't recall any remarks about the BETA drivers) Qwaxalot

Yes, I think so. I assume everything worked OK before? What video card do you have?

I would download an earlier version of my video drivers, but don't install them! Download a program like driver cleaner, or some such. Download a program like Ccleaner. Reboot in safe mode. System restore to a known good point. Eliminate all video drivers. Clean the registry. Reboot again (in safe mode) Install downloaded drivers. And don't apply any windows updates until you've got the machine running correctly

I strongly recommend that you configure windows update to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" Then wait, as said above. There are a number of websites that monitor Windows patches for problems. I personally use Askwoody.com, he seems to be very up-to-date, and has, in fact written many after market guides on Windows and other Microsoft products.

Although I've been lurking around here for a couple of months, I thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm not a modder, although I'm familiar with most of the tools, and occasionally tinker with my own game. Mostly, on the forums, my interests are in technical issues, hardware, operating systems etc. I'm mostly interested in the Alliance because, it seems to me, that most of the forumites here actually understand how their systems work.
