Hello. I have been sent here to find the OBSE tutorial so I can download the thing and finally complete my characters choice of weapons. I am a big fan of OB but I started with MWGOTY on the old x-box. Finally built a rig that could handle my abusive 24/7 gaming and have been using mods for about three weeks now. Finally found a mod with crossbows....and hence my need for OBSE and a friendly guy put me onto this forum, which looks very nice by the way. I am strange, I Role-play several characters but some of you may know "Hra-krak Onetusk the Orc Pirate".  I am currently playing a Mushroom picking elf of the raven flavour. I like to play OB without power-gaming but I have power-played in the past. If any of you modders need someone to pick holes in your creations I have a keen eye and am happy to help, although my technical knowledge is minimal. thanks for reading!

Thanks...I am still staring at those instructions thinking nnnnnggggg!  I guess I am still just a technaphobe. So I musnt save it in the data file. ok. Am I putting it in the Oblivion file? jeesh I must seem stupid.

LOL No worries. It's a common mistake!

As for OBSE, just extract everything into the Oblivion folder. I'm assuming for you it's C:/Program Files/Bethesda/Oblivion

or something close.

Ok, doing that now....cross your fingers, You would not believe some of the mistakes Ive made. Done! Its in Oblivion. Now this shortcut business? Hold on...OBSE is the one for flying and dragons and !!!! OMG...this is gonna change my gameplay all over again!  How long you been playing ob?>

LOL Obse makes a whole slew of mods available to you you couldn't play otherwise.    I've been playing Oblivion since it's release on PC. and recently started modding it as well.

C:Program FilesBethesda SoftworksOblivion ....thats where it all is, OBSE. hmmm, I really am tech shy. So this, as is, means I can download OBSE friendly mods and use them ? I dont understand the shortcut issue. Is that a modmakers thing or must I do that too?

Well, it looks like we are both new to all this....its amazing, I have built a complately new range of characters and even brougfht Hra krak back from the dead....

Erm, I have just been asked to re-register as my "nick-name" is  not ok with the obsenities reg`s. The fact I have a bag of monkey nuts sitting on my desk with which I feed my local population of birds, doesnt mean it could be something else involving.....balls.    So I have about ten minutes to sort this out....sheesh, forum decorum...learning by doing I guess.
