Track and Field!!

Since this is the sport I "play" (This has got to be the only you sport you don't actually "play" ) I wonder, out of curiosity, does anybody else here train Track and Field?

I was a track and field nut in school, many many moons ago. I ran the 50 and 100 yard dashes as well as the high jump and relays. I was fast! Even looking at the Olympics in the 8th grade. And then a badly leveled gravel track ended my sprinting career. One sprained and one fractured ankle. Ouch.

I do love watching the summer olympics...now. Took a decade or so to get over not being there. LOL

I used to be a track and field person when I was really young, I could sprint fairly well (was the fastest of my age group in the town till I got sick at around 11 years old), but I was even better at discus. Ended up at regionals for discus when I was like 10 (I was able to throw 30-40m) but had a bad day there and threw two out and only 20m on the third (the winner had 33m which I could normally throw).

After that year I was always sick on sports carnival days at school, or the one i did go it was too cold and i preformed badly. Oh course then I was hit by a car and Ill never throw again.

Never could run the long distances though...just wore myself too quickly.

Oy I was never good at the long distance runs. Total Sprinter. 200m in a relay was about my limit.

200m is probably my favorite race, although I'm too slow to make it to the finals in a national championships there

In Sweden, we have something called Swedish Relay First person runs 100m, next runs 200m, third 300m and the fourth 400m! That's great, cuz I get to run the last leg and be the one to cross the finish-line
