Issue with Westley's Head Mod

Anybody know how to get rid of the offal seam I get at the base of the skull when using Better Bodies with Westley's Head Mod (in this case on a male dunmer).

The below issue is resolved.

So, I'm learning how to use Wrye Mash Installers and all that, and for some reason I can't get this mod to run, either as a drag+drop or as an installer from Mash!!

I know a few of you also use this mod, and was hoping for some kind of help!

Here's what I did:

I moved the 7z into the installers folder (which also holds a few other mods that are in use) and then loaded Mash. I selected the installer and hit "install." I loaded a new game. Nothing. I tried an existing game. Nothing.

Okay. I deleted the installer, then took the original folder and used the drag and drop method EXACTLY as it is described in the readme. Loaded a new game. Nothing. Loaded an old save. Nothing.

Here's the mod: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6173

Here's my version of Mash: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27588

INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

Included Files:

Westly's Master Headpack X.esp

Meshes Folder

Textures Folder

Manual Installation:

Just drag and drop these onto/into the data files folder in your Morrowind directory

and they will go where they are meant to go (except the readme). All the files are

placed correctly inside folders as marked (so do not fiddle with/rearrange/move the

subfolders inside the Meshes folder, else the plugin will not work)

Just drag and drop these onto the Data Files folder in your Morrowind directory and they

will go where they are meant to go (except the readme). All the files are placed inside

folders as marked

(become familiar with manual installations, your game will thank you for it)

*****************************************************************

PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

From the Morrowind Launcher, select Data Files and check the box

next to the Westly's Master Headpack X.esp file.

This plugin is a compilation of all of the heads and hairs that I have made over

the past year (both released content and new content previously not seen).

All of my previous textures are updated and refined in this MHP so as to meet

with my current quality standards. For example and most notably are the difference

in the Dark Elf males, who have been given a deeper contrasted skin tone with

subtle ethinic characteristics added to reflect a relationship with the textures

from the original Morrowind Textures.

This merges the following headpacks:

Westly's Dark Elf Male Headpack (185 heads)

Westly's Female Headpack - Elves and Orcs

60 Dark Elf Heads

30 High Elf Heads

50 Wood Elf Heads

45 Orc Heads

Westly's Female Head Pack-Humans

33 Breton Heads

35 Imperial Heads

26 Nord Heads

29 Redguard Heads

Westly's High Elf Male Headpack (50 heads)

Westly's Breton Male Headpack (34 heads)

Westly's Imperial Male Headpack (24 heads)

Westly's Nord Male Headpack (29 heads)

Westly's Wood Elf Male Headpack (33 heads)

Westly's Young Male Mystic Headpack

10 Breton Heads(which have also been made available

without tattoos and glow by request)

10 Dark Elf Heads

10 High Elf Heads

10 Nord Heads

10 Wood Elf Heads

5 Redguard Heads

Westly's Orc Male Headpack (50 heads)

Westly's Redguard Male Headpack (50 heads)

NEW CONTENT:

36 Dark Elf Males

34 High Elf Males

36 Wood Elf Males

36 Breton Males

77 Nord Males (with various amounts of facial hair and woad)

20 High Elf Females

30 Wood Elf Females

30 Nord Females

30 Imperial Females

26 Breton Females

20 Female Khajiit Heads

26 Male Khajiit Heads

35 Female Argonian Heads

35 Male Argonian Heads

*NOTE: These New Imperial Females used the "Mask" or eye and eyebrow shape from many

of UQF's faces at the request for another race project (which I used as a template to

paint over). That project has since disappeared/disbanded, so an inclusion of these heads

in some project or another was needed, so here they are in the MHP .

Elder Heads-

7 Breton Females

5 Breton Males

8 Dark Elf Females

6 Imperial Females

4 Imperial Males

7 Nord Females

7 Orc Females

7 Redguard Females

7 Wood Elf Females

5 Wood Elf Males

Westly's Modelling Agency-

8 Female Breton Heads

5 Male Breton Heads

13 Female Dark Elf Heads

6 Male Dark Elf Heads

8 Female High Elf Heads

6 Male High Elf Heads

9 Female Imperial Heads

8 Imperial Male Heads

8 Nord Female Heads

11 Nord Male Heads

13 Redguard Female Heads

8 Redguard Male Heads

13 Wood Elf Female Heads

11 Wood Elf Male Heads

The textures for these heads are a culmination of my style that has developed

from the making of thousands of heads (to date, that is). They reflect

the aesthetic in my sculptures and illustrations, and as such, these are the

best representations of my art in any of my head packs so far. I hope that you

enjoy them, as these are truly my favourite heads to date.

NOTE:These heads use a unique feature so far under-utilised for Morrowind: the Detail Map.

The detail map (as far as TES:III is concerned) is an additional texture that acts

as an overlay on the base texture to add more depth and emphasis on key features

(such as facial hair and tattoos). I have also made use of the detail maps in the

"scar tattoos", by applying the tattoo layer to the detail map alone (which

leaves the raised appearance of scarrification to the base texture beneath).

Original Heads Revamped- This includes my retextures and remeshes of the

original Morrowind Head choices so that they are

refreshed and made new while still retaining the

nature and character of the original heads

Ren's Female Heads for All Races- Ren's altered Rhedd meshes are very popular

for those that like anime-esque faces. However,

Ren's original mod only made the heads available

for Breton and Dark Elf races. So, I have

textured the heads for the other races as well

(High Elf, Imperial, Nord, Wood Elf, and Redguard).

These are new textures that merge my own style

with Ren's so as not to be a recolour only. This

allows for my own signature to be evident in the

head textures as well :).

In addition to all of the new heads available, I have also included a very, VERY

large selection of hairs (with styles from Rhedd, Darksharp, Gorg, and Ren).

All have recieved a new texture by me in some fashion so as to remain unique

to this mod. This is the part where I would like to detail exactly every hair that

I have used, but there are so many that this would take a README unto itself to

describe, so I will break down the basics that are not evident in the screenshots

provided with this mod:

Ren's Oblivion Hairstlyes for all races (converted for use in Morrowind)-

A multitude of shapes/styles and new colours available for each :P.

Ren's Hairs from the original Beauty Shop and Jenova's Child mods

that I have altered and given completely new textures so as to be

unique to this mod :).

Many of Rhedd, Darksharp, and Gorg's original hairs which a now available

for races to which they were not previously assigned, as well as having

new textures (on many of the styles) to add to the uniqueness that is

inherent in this mod.

Many New horn styles for Argonians, Male and Female (based on Silaria's

great horn meshes). They range from basic bone tones of brown to colourfully

carved tribal designs to gilding with gold, silver, and copper details.

The females have jeweled options as well.

I have also made new styles for the Khajiit using Ren's Oblivion hair meshes.

They look grand on the Khajiit, as they add a leonine quality to the noble cats :).

I thoroughly enjoy making textures, especially faces, as they are what truly

gives life and personality to any character.

Cheers!

Save Games

*****************************************************************

This plugin will not invalidate your old saved games. If you save

your game while this plugin is loaded, you may encounter error messages

when you reload the saved game without the plugin. But you will be

able to continue on with the original game.

*****************************************************************

Changing the Face of an Existing Character

*****************************************************************

To change the face of your existing character without starting a new game,

open the console and type "enableracemenu". Choose your new face and hair.

Changing your race will cause temporary problems that should resolve

themselves when you reload. Always save your game first in case of

unpredictable errors and save afterwards in a new file.

What do you mean by "nothing" ?

It looks to me that this is a mod to create new chars and not change anything existing. Did you create a new char and the choices didn't show up?

Also, did you enable the esp? (I know nothing of morrowind but I'm assuming there are esp's)

Open Mash, go to the "Installers" tab- click on Westly's Master Head Pack. To the right there should be a series of tabs. Click the "Matched" tab- it should have a list of all the resources used by the mod. If they aren't there or if the check box next to the mod is grey in the "installers" tab, you need to unzip the mod, rearrange the folders into a Bain readable structure, and try again. If you need help figuring out what folder structure is readable by Mash, take a look at the structure of a mod you have installed successfully, and use it as an example.

Not all mods are zipped in a way that Mash can read. Sometimes a bit of work is required on your part. This is discussed under "Help-Package Structure" and "Help-Skipped files" sections of the Help file that is included with Mash, so I won't waste my time reiterating information that is clearly documented and readily available to you.

Good luck. :)

What do you mean by "not there"?

Example: When I click on the "matched" tab, I see a list that looks like this:

Westly's Master Headpack X.esp

Docs\Westly's Master Headpack v1 README.txt

Meshes\_FNL\F\WAR_BM_FNL_Xf1a.NIF

Meshes\_FNL\F\WAR_BM_FNL_Xf1b.nif

Meshes\_FNL\F\WAR_BM_FNL_Xf2a.nif

Meshes\_FNL\F\WAR_BM_FNL_Xf2b.nif

(list incomplete for the sake of brevity :))

So "not there" = a blank field.

Oh, the files are listed there and the check box is green with a plus in the middle, like the other RUNNING mods that I have installed....

I'm surprised. So far it seems that this isn't just some stupid mistake that I made!!! I mean, it probably is, but I guess it's an unlikely mistake... Which makes it less stupid of me.

Any other ideas?

I certainly don't think you made a stupid mistake. The mod fairies can be malevolent, that's all. :)

I am as puzzled as you, because that was maybe the third mod I installed, and it was easy-peasy. And I know you have successfully installed some texture replacers recently, so I just assume it isn't an archive invalidation issue.

No ideas just yet, and I am a bit preoccupied with troubleshooting another issue atm, but if anything comes to mind, I'll post it here.

In the meantime, it might not be a bad idea to post your load order.

Figured out what was wrong, installed successfully!!!

Is there any way to get rid of the horrible seam on the base of the skull that I get while using better bodies?

Hi Maxwell! I was just wondering - how did you figure out what was wrong? I am having the same problem with Westly's Master Head Pack in combination with Morrowind Comes Alive. Got half naked/hairless people running around in a big yellow exclamation mark and my eyes crossed from trying to figure it out.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Are you using any patch from the MCA archive and which MCA version are installed?

If so that might be the case and I suggest that you remove that patch, but also repair your gamesave in Wrye Mash (Save tab).

Here is Yacoby's Wrye Mash Stand Alone (WMSA 85 with the monkey icon) which isn't requires python, but if you still want to have it just install WryePython 03a package.
