help with blender custom cuirass

Hi, i'm trying to make an iron hgec cuirass, i need help to what i'm doing wrong for it to be invisible in game, the skeleton i'm importing is skeleton.nif. http://s820.photobucket.com/albums/zz125/Knightofvain/Blender%20projects/ < my work i follow these tutorials: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Custom_Cuirass_in_Blender_Part_1 http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=118 so please tell me what i am doing wrong i'd like to learn how to do stuff like this, then i'll get heavy into moddelling.

It might help to explain what changes you made to the cuirass. :cookie4u:

well, i made the breast area bigger(obviously every hgec armor does) i removed everything besides the man chestplate ( no arm armor, no shoulderpads, no armor that hangs under the main chestplate.) and that's all i changed. Imported everything ect. I might be exporting something wrong, i have no idea.

A:This is usually seen with a missing normal map. The easiest way to make a normal map is using the Nvidia Normal Map filter, plugins available Here

A:This can also occur if there is a problem with your skeleton in your exported .nif, which entails deleting your old skeleton in Blender and importing a clean one from a vanilla .nif; or if your mesh has vertex colors assigned (may be co-dependent upon the material used with the mesh) which means clearing any vertex color layers that may exist in Blender.

Looking at your blender pic and I only see the skeleton. Did you import the femaleupperbody.nif too?

Also from the Wiki:

If you want a sleeveless look, you don’t need to do anything here; you’ll just leave the bare arm sections with your cuirass. You do have to have some sort of arms included with the cuirass even if it’s sleeveless, because the game engine deletes the body’s arms and torso when anything is equipped in the upperbody slot. Trust me on this, it will look really strange when a character appears to have a nice cuirass, hands, and no arms.

The important part about the skeleton is you delete what is imported with the armor. Then once you have it all rigged, you select the mesh, then you import the default oblivion skeleton and be sure to select "Import skeleton only and parent to selected"

thanks for all the support, i just didn't have an upperbody, (fail) and then when i tried putting a body on it (later) i forgot to add a scene root (another fail) then i tried a robe (not hgec just custom design) and it worked fine, because i had a body ect. again Thanks for the help.
