Alternate Font types fpr oblivion books?

I see in Oblivion INI settings that (5) font types are specified.

[Fonts]

SFontFile_1=Data\Fonts\Kingthings_Regular.fnt

SFontFile_2=Data\Fonts\Kingthings_Shadowed.fnt

SFontFile_3=Data\Fonts\Tahoma_Bold_Small.fnt

SFontFile_4=Data\Fonts\Daedric_Font.fnt

SFontFile_5=Data\Fonts\Handwritten.fnt

I would like to add (2) additional font types for some Elvish books I'm working on.

Is there a documented process to get this done?

Is (5) the maximum number of font choices available in game?

Thank you,

Stan Kirby

As I understand it, 5 font types is the maximum, unless you'd like to delve directly into the code and change it. :heyyou:

SFontFile_1 is the font used for default books. If you wanted to change the books to use your new font then you could simply change this to equal your new font name, while also adding the new font into the Data\Fonts folder. You need a .fnt file and a .tex file. It seems you can only have one choice of font to use for certain things.

WARNING: Changing the SFontFile's in the .ini will ALSO change displayed menus (Font 1 is used for books, the main menu and inventory menus).

Thank you all for the responses!

After several trial and error stabs at it.............I have decided to leave it alone for now.

I really wanted the Elven TrueType fonts in game but am now considering just converting the elven verse into images and including them in scrolls and books.

Thank you again

Thank you all for the responses!

Now I feel bad, since my contribution was at risk of just causing confusion: my "elderscrolls" link is the old one (it's a bit of a running joke amongst old members who don't like to keep with the times) and IS's link is correct. While the older one is unlikely to go away any time soon, it's probably best to use the current URL:

And hopefully I haven't caused more confusion in my attempt to clarify things! :rolleyes:
