Terran Vampires REVIVED

Terran Vampires has had a turbulent history: it was made back in 2007 and was widely recognised as having the most potential of any vampire mod, if not any mod at all. Suddenly production stopped, but many fans decided to take it upon themselves to finish what ZorakRamone started.

Turns out they stopped production suddenly as well.

Now, right before Skyrim is released and Oblivion is made obsolete, Terran Vampires is making a return.

You might think this is ambitious. You would be right - the project was undertaken about two months ago by myself and just one other, who had an involvement with the last attempt at a remake. Sadly, due to personal reasons he had to leave the team.

I kept going though, building on what we had established and almost all the foundations have been laid: Terran Vampires 2.0 is inches from being released.

FEATURES:

Over 60 Powers in over 15 exclusive disciplines to master:

Transform into a swarm of bats, or into air itself. Boil the blood of your enemies, or hypnotise them to your purpose. Transcend into an ethereal spectre, or meld into the shadows to stalk your enemies.

As a vampire develops, anything becomes possible.

Revamped blood system:

In the original mod, the player was given two resources: “Blood Power†and “Blood Potencyâ€. Blood Power is what keeps a vampire alive, it is their sustenance. It is also used to fuel the various powers a vampire may possess. Blood Potency is what develops a vampire – it allows them to gain access to new powers.

Instead of having 15 blood power and only using up 1 per day like the original, there will be 50 blood power for new vampires and a constant drain - every second counts. You will be allowed more blood power as you age. For the daring or entrepreneurial vampire, there are ways of speeding up this process.

Blood potency has also been reworked. You used to gain 5 Blood Potency every time you levelled up – now you can gain it by consuming insane amounts of blood or draining someone completely dry, so you are no longer limited to how many powers you can buy. For those who disapprove of mindlessly murdering “innocentsâ€, there are ways around this.

Being a Nightmare:

Heartless, monster-like acts will cause you to lose your humanity. You will become “more vampiric†- your strengths will improve, but your weakness become greater. You will be far more powerful, but you will never be so vulnerable - especially to the sun. You will need much more blood to satisfy your curse. Plus, vampire hunters find it easier to follow a trail of destruction.

Remembering your past, clinging to your human nature and tracking your morals will limit your blood supply and you will be “less vampiricâ€. Your curse-given unnatural abilities will wane, but your weaknesses will also fade. You will be able to withstand the sun for much longer, and fire will be just another nuisance. With less of a curse you will have much less hunger, and the hunters will be clueless to your nature.

Both will be equal as far as blood powers are concerned – it is just their basic vampiric abilities which are affected.

Rival the oldest and most powerful of your kind:

Age is crucial to a vampire - it controls what kinds of abilities you can have, how large your blood supply is, and how respected you are in the vampire society. Almost no vampire will live for over a thousand years - one slip, a moments loss of concentration and a silver stake will find it's way into your heart. There is however, methods of circumventing the age barrier, for the more enterprising vampire.

By eating the heart of another terran vampire, your age will increase dramatically. Your elders know this, and by using their political power have made it difficult for any younger vampire to challenge them by creating laws and making examples of those who decide to cannibalize to prevent anyone from being able to challenge them. So long as they don't find out though, you have nothing to worry about...

You are not the only Hunter out there:

Be wary of your mistakes, your witnesses, your tracks - a vampire hunter can follow them and free you of your curse, the hard way.

There are over 15 different types of vampire hunters, each of varying levels and abilities. You could be attacked by a combination of any of those who feel your bounty is worth the risk.

The Council of Vampires has it's own agenda:

If you are not with them, then you are an enemy and will be hunted down with all the resources at their disposal. And as the true rulers of Cyrodiil, they have plenty.

If you are with them, then you will find that being undead can be very rewarding. They will have tasks for you from time to time, and in return they will offer you their many services.

It's not very specific, but I'm sure you will enjoy the surprise. There is a whole lot of mechanics and systems to take into account, which hopefully will make great gameplay.
