Scripting Question & Help

Hey guys!

I am looking to see if it would be possible to write a script which 'gets' the players (and any/all NPC's) equipped armours (or body part slots) and then subsequently 'turn off' or hide certain armours, I'll proved a little of the back story below).

I am making a mod which allows the user and NPCs (though without any attempt to customise any yet) to wear clothing under their armour, and robes over their armour, as well and similarly for certain hand equipments and also (in the future) extend the mod to also allow circlets to be worn over helmets. For this to be done however, I will have need for a script which will prevent all the items worn showing simultaneously (though not attempted I feel that editing the size of each piece of armour would be both time consuming and have odd consequences for animations/just look plain odd).

Any help would be thoroughly appreciated, please be aware that this mod is a project intended to enhance my ability to produce future mods over making a playable release, though I would like to achieve this also should it be possible,

Thanks in advance for any help provided,

DA :)
