[IDEA] Assault on the Stone

So I've had this idea brewing in my head for a little while now of creating a mod (or series of mods) based on my favorite book series, the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. Over the next couple of weeks, as I learn more and more about modeling and using the creation kit, I'm hoping to create something along the following lines and would like to see how many people would potentially be interested in this (whether it be helping me out when I finally get around to starting it or people who would just download and play the mod if/when it's done).

Premise

A "Bubble of Evil" (common plot device in the series) has transported the entire city of Tear and the people in it into another world, one very similar, but at the same time quite different from the one they lived in. Separated from Rand Al'Thor, the people of Tear now look for this world's version of the Dragon Reborn, and surprisingly (well not surprisingly, but conveniently) you happen to be Dragonborn... close enough. Will you choose to fulfill the Prophecies of the Dragon in the stead of the Dragon Reborn, who doesn't exist in your world, or will you choose to side with the Dark One and his minions in order to destroy the city?

You learn of a city that has seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the northernmost reaches of Skyrim. Being curious you decide to go see this city for yourself. When you arrive in Tear you take in the scenery of the city.

The City of Tear

  • The small, densely populated port with muddy walks and fishermen laboring to make a living. Houses are arranged in a seemingly disorganized manner and most of the people populating the area are poorer folk.
  • The wealthier, merchant area of the city. Plenty of inns to drink, sing, and gamble your nights away in here. Multiple shops, smithies, and apothecaries each specializing in specific merchandise. Citizens here are of the merchant class mainly, and therefore are well off, but not exactly rich.
  • The Stone of Tear. The Stone is a massive, impregnable fortress that appears to be a mountain. All of the Tairen nobles live here. The interior of the Stone is huge, multi-leveled, with corridors that criss-cross at seemingly random intervals so as to confuse potential invaders. Defenders of the Stone, in their well-polished and ornate armor, patrol the hallways and the exterior of the stone regularly. These men are trained fighters and will give up their lives to insure the Stone survives, along with the nobles within it. There are many rooms in the stone, ranging from lavish apartments for those special inhabitants of the fortress (aka the nobles and... you?!), to dungeons where the worst of the worst prisoners in Tear are held, to the barracks of the Defenders, to the vast Heart of the Stone. There are many more rooms hidden throughout the fortress as well, just waiting to be uncovered.

Main Quest

The main quest of the mod would be roughly based on the events at the end of book three, The Dragon Reborn.

  • Prove yourself Nirn's version of the Dragon Reborn. Invade the Stone, fight your way through the Defenders, enter the Heart of the Stone and seize Callandor, the legendary object of power said to enhance one's magical abilities to unfathomable levels.
  • Claim the Stone in your name
  • But beware, the Dark One's forces lie in wait as well! Battle the fearsome Forsaken Be'lal for the Sword that is Not a Sword. Defend the Stone from hordes of Trollocs and Myrdraal, or swear to the Dark One himself and unleash destruction upon the inhabitants of the city with your new found power.

New Companions

  • Matrim "Mat" Cauthon - Travel Skyrim with the world's most lovable rogue, Mat Cauthon. His language may be foul and he may seem lazy and irresponsible, but with his power-wrought Ashandarei, array of concealed throwing knives, and vast knowledge of the art of war, this man is a force to be reckoned with. Not to mention the fox-head medallion which allows him to resist magic that would kill most normal people.
  • Perrin "Goldeneyes" Aybara - Embrace the powers of the wolf with this beast of a man by your side. He's blunt, straightforward, and refuses to think highly of himself, but armed with his trusty hammer Mah'alleinir and imbued with levels of sight and smell, and reflexes all superior to those of your average man, this former blacksmith is a deadly ally.
  • Aiel - Team up with bands of Aiel in order to solidify your assault on the Stone. Once you've claimed the Stone for yourself, ask to join a warrior society in order to gain the strength of its warriors. Afterwards, roam Skyrim escorted by one of the deadliest warriors in any dimension.

New Spells

Embrace the One Power and learn spells you'd have never thought possible with your limited knowledge of the Arcane.

  • Blossoms of Fire
  • Arrows of Fire
  • Cloud Dancing
  • One Power Fireballs
  • Weaves of Air
  • Erupting Earth
  • Weaves of Water
  • Aligning the Matrix
  • Compulsion
  • One Power Generated Weapons
  • Balefire

New Weapons

  • Callandor - The legendary Sword That is Not a Sword. Callandor will provide you with a much greater wealth of magicka to draw on, along with increasing the strength of your spells greatly. Must be equipped for the effects to be taken. Can also be used as a one handed sword if you are desperate... or just insane. Though seemingly fragile, it is quite unbreakable.
  • Mat's Ashandarei - This power-wrought sword-spear is extremely fast, extremely light, long enough to reach most enemies who cannot reach you, and quite deadly. It never needs sharpening or polishing. The Ashandarei will be hidden somewhere in the Vanilla world-map for you to find.
  • Mah'alleinir - Wield the deadly power-wrought hammer of the Wolf King, Perrin Aybara, himself. This weapon is deadly to all creatures of darkness, whether they be Trollocs and Myrdraal or Draugrs and aggessive Dragons.
  • Power Wrought Blades - These blades never dull, never need polishing and can cut through armor like butter. Stonger than the average katana.
  • Justice - The unique power-wrought blade of the fearsome Artur Hawkwing. Find and wield this powerful, dragon inlaid sword.

And much, much more in planning. I can't wait until I'm good enough to get started on this one my own, but what do you guys think for now?

Glad you like the idea, they're great books aren't they? I can't wait for Memory of Light to come out in January haha It's so saddening that there are hardly any mods related to the series for Skyrim though. And like I said, I'm a beginner and I've just started using the CK and 3ds Max. Hopefully I can start getting some decent preliminary stuff out within the next couple of weeks or so (though it's doubtful at the moment). If anyone's interested in helping me with this, I'd gratefully welcome the assistance. I want it to be a good mod, and I just don't trust myself enough to make a really amazing first mod without help XD
