[MW] First Person Hands

Just copy your current hands to hands.1st and make sure it points to the hand mesh for whatever race you're creating/modifying. Note that you need a hand mesh, you can't use a whole body mesh like you can with the non first person hands.

Okay... can I change the mesh assigned to a body part in the CS?

Also, where do I find the 'texture source' in Nifskope? Is it different for Morrowind, or just because I'm messing with character meshes?

If you load up Better Bodies in the CS and go to the body part tab, you should see two entries for hands: one is just hands, and the other is hands.1st. An example is for Breton females:

The regular hands that you see in third person or on an NPC are called "b_n_breton_f_hands". The first person hands are called "b_n_breton_f_hands.1st". The former points to meshes\bb\bb_skinf_br.nif, while the later points to meshes\bb\bb_handf_br.nif. To change a mesh, click on the Add Art File for that body part. If you're creating a new race, you'll need to create the race first (Character->Race->New), then create all of the different body parts for it and assign each to the new race.

As for the textures, they're usually under NiNode->NiTextureingProperty->NiSourceProperty->NiSourceTexture. If you double-click on the part you're looking for a texture for, it should take you right to it.

I believe so. To do so should be pretty easy with Blender - it's just a matter of copying the hands from the mesh and making a new one I'd guess. You don't need 1st person hands for NPCs, though, only for playable races. If it's a humanoid race, I'd use one of the BB hands and slap whatever texture on it I need.
